Since Rolex no longer produces these watches, their numbers are dwindling, as some are kept running from parts of others, and more are lost or damaged... antique chronos from any maker get more expensive to own, maintain and repair every year (especially those with the same movements as Rolex, Breitling, etc..), even without inflation... As the numbers of any given antique approach 1, the price continues to climb. When there is only one, it's price will be reasonably, priceless. Even IF Rolex produced a brand new batch, they would still not be antique originals, and would always lag behind the true original in price... The same goes for Eames/Herman Miller Chairs, and other "works of art."

That watch is a carnivore... it needs teeth. Rivet Oyster... the real man's preferred dipillitory device.

You COULD use Polls for anonymous feedback for various aspects of doing business with each collector... (sort of like the new anonymous feedback on ebay...) A set of polls for each will give everyone up to date info, and customers can vote what they sometimes can't say... -
I have one that I did in Flash, it's the H4... PM me if you want a copy.

Definitely the battery, and Sikaflex is a possible for the strap repair (you can use saran wrap to smooth and mold it to the stap while it waiting for it to cure), but probably easier just to REPLACE. -

Back when I was a young soldier, we used to say "One 'Aww-s h i t' wipes out one hundred atta-boy's." Of course, the closer to perfect you get, the more the people hate you as well... People are always more comfortable with the familiar, and will better accept you being slightly flawed, or dirty, as long as they don't feel used or abused. Communication is key to ensuring that customers don't feel the everyday crap that happens from any activity isn't being intentionally flung at them. -
My recently departed (I gave it away) Invicta II TT Blue Moon Phase watch... Always got the most compliments and looks...

Croton Gladiator Croton Open Heart Croton Super C - Black Croton Carbon Fiber - Red Croton 2 Slot Winder - Mahogany 2 Swiss, 2 Miyota and nice winder. Any two (or three) and the winder would probably fit your budget, and give you a nice mini-collection.
-
How about a pair of Croton automatics and a winder? Most of their "$1500" Swiss automatics can be had on ShopNBC or similar in the $300-500 range, and the Croton dual winder is kind of nice to look at too, usually under $300...

Once there was this guy, obviously playing with his Reverso Grande in an attempt to get me to notice it, I presume, so he could get a better look at my TT Sub... I kind of felt bad ignoring him and not starting up a conversation, but as we were in the waiting area of the local clinic and I had pneumonia, I really didn't feel like chatting it up (or adding the flu to my list of complaints)... I just kind of made sure to leave my arm out there on the arm rest of the chair so he could look, and tried not to notice him looking.

Nah, he said "submariner" not "sub"... But... this SUB REP is pretty bad...

I thought Ceasar had the ugliest REP sub.... Or at least the ugliest $800 REP sub... I hope he managed to get his money back...

Unknown ETA 2824 Movement - More info gathered.
POTR replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
I don't think ETA would press their balance wheel on the staff upside down... even IF they intentionally made a lesser finished movement. And The Zigmeister, is that really just "gunk" on the pallet jewels or are those oversized, nasty inclusions? (meaning a fracture waiting to happen...) And is that Kif mounted balance staff jewel just a little over oiled, or is that me? -
Fun? Fun is wearing a Pink "Beach" Daytona...

Probably a couple of these... Except the Blue TT on the Invicta pillow (I threw that one up there for Corgi)
-
Nice, and "my year" too... If I had any extra in the budget this month, I would buy it.

Proper vintage "Coin-edge" Rollie bezels, anyone?

Those are not "Tool Watches" they are "Extra stuff to get caught on things and rip your hand off while you're distracted trying to figure out the time" watches... Hmmm... considering my statement, perhaps the Chronofighter is aptly named... I just don't like fighting with my watches... ROLEX invented the tool watch. IWC, in some cases, nearly perfected the tool watch. O&W made great tool watches. Blancpain understood tool watches. TIFFANY Divers were nice tool watches, Sheffield made some quite adequate, inexpensive tool watches, Seiko eventually figured out the tool watch... Fit and finish may be excellent, the style may be appealing to some, but they are in no stretch of the imagination, tool watches. However, they MAY be "Watches For TOOLS"...
