  1. Gen hands won't fit an eta mov unless you modify the pinion wich is very tricky also for a watchmaker. 3035 hands and 3135 are the same. I cannot help you on Andrew's dj as I always used gen cases for my frankens
  2. If you have all the parts exII solution is good, I was thinking to do the same with a SS one. The only problem are the CG's which are terrible in my opinion. EXII from joshua is quite cheap, 158$ so I guess you could pull the trigger. Than add a gen jubilee strap and you're done.
  3. I got an answer from TC meanwhile, and unfortunately a 2678 would not fit. So the only solution is a SA3135, expensive and too risky imho or a 2824-2 but cutting the gen dial feet. I'm working with my watchmaker to drill the holes in a 2824-2 movement, will update as soon as he finds a solution.
  4. I agree, gmtII TT parts are difficult to source and very expensive, and rep parts are not as accurate as a 1675. And a 1675/16750 is more attractive imho
  5. I meant shappire 16610/16800 Sub with 16710/16700 GMT. They have the same bezel and bezel insert.
  6. Perfect, CousinsUK has them, and I guess Ofrei too. ETA2500242H270: Cannon Pinion With Drive Wheel, Height 2.70mm ( 242 ), ETA 2500 ETA2600255H176: Hour Wheel, Height 1.76mm ( 255 ), ETA 2600 ETA2801227H555: Fourth Wheel Centre Seconds, Height 5.55mm ( 227 ), ETA 2801 Thanks my friend!
  7. Does anybody knows which is the parts number I should look for if I'm looking for a #4 hour wheel, minute wheel, cannon pinion and second wheel for an ETA 2824-2? That is the correct height for Rolex style hands, right? Thanks
  8. Joshua or Andrew sell spare dials, try to drop them an email. Anyway this build deserves a gen dial sooner or later
  9. Which was the price? Seems It's not listed anymore
  10. Wow congrats! How did you deal with the rehauth? Did you bought it together with the case?
  11. Well, unfortunately a midsize is not a standard so I cannot say how much you would spend, because parts are rarer than men's size dj and prices can be fair or crazy. I was going to buy this dial for 350$ because I really wanted it, and then by chance I found the same exact dial for 180$ brand new and with hands too. For a men's size I can say that you can spend around 1000$ for a watch like this. And that was my budget too. With a rep bracelet you could cut costs a lot. Anyway fair price would be: Case crystal and bezel 250$ eta movement, $150, dial, $150, hands $10, crown $50, date wheel $50. Bracelet $350
  12. Sorry for reviving this thread.. I'm planning to use it in the NEW Jushua/Andrew EXII noob case. Being this movement thicker, would it fit as well?
  13. Thanks guys. I would have gone with the ladies version too, much easier to source the parts and to build, but she prefers this one.. you know how it works Another issue was the bracelet, the removable links were not enought and I had to remove two permanent links from it. The first watchmaker said it is impossible to do, the second asked me 70$, then I brought the gen bracelet (only the bracelet) to my Rolex AD and they did it for free!
  14. Everything began when my girlfriend went with me to a Rolex AD. While I was looking at the new Sub, at an old GMT and other stuff, I saw her staring at the datejust corner. I said: "why don't you try it on?" She has a very small wrist, around 4 3/4 inches and actually the lady size was perfect. But she likes girls wearing a man's watch, and on such a small wrist, the only solution was a Boy size. The look is exactly the same of a woman with a normal wrist wearing a men's Datejust, very sexy She loved it so much that I decided to start a new project for her (good excuse ), looking around, but wow, midsize parts are very difficult to source! And to assembly as well.. Thanks to Stilty who did the tricky work and some good deals on VRF I found the exact same dial, case and bracelet she liked. I just mounted the dial, hands and bracelet and finally, after months, here it is. And the most important thing, she is really happy with it. And I am happy too. Specs: Gen dial Gen case and bezel Gen datewheel Gen Crystal Gen crown Gen jubilee bracelet Omega ETA 2000-1 movement Clark hands Stilty's pics: This is the GEN (my budget was around 1/3) And mine (hers ) Wrist shots!
  15. Cats it's the old discontinued noob case, I was jumping on my chair too
  16. It works, a lot of members did it (I remember chefcook) but you have to be lucky, sometimes it fits, sometimes no. I heard PT saying that this issue has been solved
  17. Yes the LEC is the problem New Noob EXII accepts gen crystal, right? Forgetting the fancy CG's it could be a good base for a GMT conversion..
  18. Damn, CG's are nice! I've always thought it was the weak point, and I believed it was not fixable because of lacking of material. Is it the current version or the old noob? Another issue was the LEC, so is it a gen crystal right? Gen crown as well..
  19. Why don't you buy gen spec screws only, I guess they could be really cheap. On my gen sub I destroyed two screws resizing the bracelet. My Rolex AD changes them for free! If it's a gen bracelet you could bring it to a Rolex Centre
  20. Yes, the visible parts look ok. If you open the caseback you could be 100% sure. The clasp should be ref. O, P or Q.
  21. TC DWO?? this is for a 3135 mov and completely off for a vintage..
  22. Actually SEL's gap are far better and I definitely prefer this solution. Tube's issue is an easy fix, and crown's height is not noticeable if not side by side with a gen. That's why I did not buy a TC/WM9 v4 case but I will go for this one, when the DWO v2 and the new bracelet v3 will be ready
