  1. Half way through the run of the 16800, around '85, Rolex switched from the matte dial to the glossy dial with white gold surrounds. As for the 16660 there was a transitional dial matt/white gold surrounds. This is a 94xxxx serial..
  2. that's expensive, a gen 16610/16710 insert costs 55-70$ from a Rolex AD
  3. DJII has a 3136 movement which is a 3135 with Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock system, but the datawheel is supposed to be the same.
  4. Wait for TC's dwo in around 4 weeks
  5. If I'm mistaking I apologize, but the seller nickname seems a weird coincidence to me.. http://www.rwg.cc/topic/144858-tc-submariner-16610-v-series/ http://www.rwg.cc/topic/145221-fs-sub-case-tc/ http://www.rwg.cc/topic/145320-fs-submariner-tc-v-series/
  6. Good point. I've never seen any used/vintage cases consumed like that
  7. Because a gen ETA is more reliable, could last decades, and if it breaks a watchmaker could fix it, while with an A21j you could only buy a new mov, and the chance is very high. I doubt that the ETA inside Andrew's watch is gen, in any case I would go for the cheap asian mov and buy a new mov in case it breaks.
  8. Everythings looks gen to me, even if mixed from different sources. Caseback sticker is definitely an old style one, as well as the insert. Etaswiss has longer lugs and If I remember right it's marked M, I doubt it was re-engraved but everything might be.. I agree that it should have the T but if they re-engraved it, why not adding a T?
  9. Nice dial, even if it would be correct for a lugholes case without a Sel bracelet, not on this one. A gen 3135 mov wouldn't fit though.. so it's better to keep the eta.
  10. It should fit modern sub/gmt/ym/sd/dj as long as the gen has a modern 3035/3135/3085.. movement otherwise fonts would be incorrect
  11. Crown looks gen even if some inside pics could help.. and about the crystal it is impossible to say from the pics. The only thing I can say is that the gen gasket only is 2.7mm
  12. If it's a gen bezel insert it is a press fit and held by the beveled edges of the bezel ring so it shouldn't matter.
  13. Might be glue, could you take a pic?
  14. TW clasp should be the same of WM9. TC also has a very good clasp but it's very similar if not identical to the wm9/tw. These are currently the best available with etaswiss, but he does not sell the bracelet alone. http://www.rwg.cc/topic/142422-tc-93250-bracelet-v2/ http://www.rwg.cc/topic/143047-tcs-v2-bracelet-photo-review/
  15. Sorry but no. A serial was the first luminova dial with "swiss" only dial, and had lugholes and non SEL bracelet. The folliwing P serial had "Swiss made" dial, lugholes and SEL. Non holes cases came later
  16. You said almost everything, the possibilty to accept gen parts is the main advantage, and almost everyone willing to spend around 800-1000$ will upgrade his sub with gen parts, otherwise they would prefer a 300$ standard rep. That's my opinion. In addition I guess there's also the Mac effect, how many people upgraded their Iphone 4 with a 4s only because it's newer? But the fact that you don't see people posting their Bk or Noob sub doesn't mean that they stopped buying them
  17. Yes, what bother me is spending 450$ for a movement that cannot be repaired, three movements broken and you're close to the price of a gen 3135
  18. Hi, I was wondering if PT and Etaswiss are the only seller who can source the SA3135 movement. I've always had nothing but trouble with PT and 400$+shipping is way too expensive Don't Jushua, Andrew or others sell it? Thanks
  19. 116610 has polished center links, 16610 (so TC's) has not.

  21. Agree. Then I would understant an increase for discontinued lucky watch, i.e noob explorer II which could be considered "rare". But for a TC or BK Sub with a few of gen parts that could be easily found cheaper on the bay it's ridicolous, but could fool noobs that don't want to spend hours reading posts about who has the best Sub.
  22. Domi in germany or my watchmaker in Italy, if you want just pm me
