  1. Great post...excellent excellent excellent. Thanks so much for this!!
  2. They are both great watches...but entirely different. The DSSD is massive, the GMT not. The DSSD can be had in a cheap $108 dollar "lite" type version...whereas the 116710 needs to have the ETA ICHS movement to be reliable. The 116710 is much thinner so wears very differently.
  3. I am surprised as well...given that it's so early in his term so few results are in place...just initiatives started and wheels in motion.
  4. Big congrats. That does indeeed sound like an idyllic spot...just add flying buttresses for support!
  5. HAH HAH HAH...No...I'm not laughing with you...I'm laughing AT you. That's hilarious.
  6. As a note, the Asian 21J GMT movement is a flakier movement than others because the GMT tube on the GMT hand is not attached the greatest, so any repair is difficult because of the difficulty of sourcing an Asian GMT movement. If you want a GMT watch, I would suggest saving the bucks and going for an ETA modded with the GMT module which appears more reliable...and then buy a cheap Asian 21j non-GMT watch which should give you lots of mileage and life. Welcome to RWG!!
  7. Fun. Adding that modern shiny bracelet makes it a TeeJay Custom Mod special!!! I would try a Jubilee bracelet...not accurate either...but I think it would look closer.
  8. Bump bump bump...let's get this moving!!!
  9. I think like others have noted, there haven't been a lot of new releases lately. The buzz around the DLC Blacksteel was exciting to read...but now that it is out, it's lack of "newness" doesn't spur as much conversation. Andreww's point about the reps being of such a high quality that the current line of Breitling reps is almost a shop-and-go scenario with little thinking involved to get a near perfect rep is something to consider. A lot of the active recent posts have been around some of the modding efforts on Frankens (3714 and the concepta movements), gen movement fitting (Zig's Illinois movement in the PAM, and other's Hamilton movement Franken's)...so when the Breitling ones need little modding, how many queries do you get?
  10. Congrats on the piece!!! The cyclops being weak and the font being thin are always the gripes of the PAMs in general...but, regardless, they are still great pieces. Nice shots as well...and glad to see the forum has helped pick a piece and that you're sharing your experience and pics!! Now scratch that itch and get more!!
  11. I actually saw a 40th Speedy on the wrist of a dude at Costco...gen.
  12. I've been trying PP gift and am getting fees charged now...the software has changed. Recently a $130 transaction charged $5.70 or something like that.
