stilty Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Ray Lamontagne.... just got some tickets for his show on Saturday. This guy is an amazing songwriter. Check out this haunting track. Truly Amazing.
Triodus Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Today it was RUSH, Xanadu from Farewell To Kings and YES, Close To The Edge. I cranked them both up on my new stereo in my car. "SOF"

RobbieG Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I love the Images & Words record. Learning to Live is classsic MP drumming and a great arranging feat. Tough to remember all that. Well produced record as well. Really punchy and not washed out like what they became... Dream Theater made some nice albums in the early nineties, like "Images and Words". But they have put out some disappointing efforts too. The newest one, Systematic Chaos is actually pretty good... and I've been listening to it quite a bit, just like now.
RobbieG Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I'm listening to the first few Van Halen records a lot lately and old Stray Cats and old Clash records and Stravinsky too...
perry563 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 In my mind the greatest Rock album of all time Led Zeppelin I.
a german in denmark Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Grace Jones "Hurricane" has been played a lot in our home, "Sunset Sunrise" and "Devil in my life" being my favorites. Breathtakingly beautiful and exciting. This woman is maturing with dignity (as most of us are ) I wouldn't have expected otherwise, though, Grace Jones, Sly and Robbie, Brian Eno, Tricky...

stilty Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Right now I'm listening to Jaydiohead! Jay-Z meets Radiohead If you like Jay-Z and not radiohead, then you will probably hate this, and vice versa. If you like both artists, you will probably dig it. For those that remember the classic "Grey Album" as mixed by Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley), here is the latest mash-up by a guy called Minty Fresh Beats. Yes, I know, mashups are so 2004! But this has some cool things in there. I'm loving "99 Anthems" and "No Karma"! You can stream or download here: http://www.jaydiohead.com/

peepshow Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 You said it, Demon. RZA is crazy-talented. Currently listening to John Mayer Trio. For any blues fans out there, give this a listen. John isn't all pop music bubblegum. He's a watch guy, to boot!
By-Tor Posted June 16, 2009 Author Report Posted June 16, 2009 New Dave Matthews Band: Big Whiskey & The GrooGrux King Much better than lousy "Stand Up" but not quite as amazing as Crash, Under the Table and Dreaming & Before These Crowded Streets. But then again DMB is a live band and I'm anxious to hear these new songs in the next Live Trax.
MasterOfPuppets Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 my avatar and nickname says it all the greatest band and album of all time but ofcourse, i prefer listening to live versions of their songs, especially the epic masterpiece S&M
OmegaPOFL Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 I'm listening to GZA's new album Pro Tools... specifically Paper Plate.... its raw
cronsell Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 Lately I've been listening to Iron and Wine, Regina Spektor, and Ray Lamontagne...it's just my speed these days.
stilty Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 Lately I've been listening to Iron and Wine, Regina Spektor, and Ray Lamontagne...it's just my speed these days. Nice! Seen them all live. Regina has a new one coming soon... Ray is always amazing. I've seen him 3 times. A band slightly more upbeat that I have been listening to a lot lately is "In-Flight Safety". The have a great track called Crash/Land. Has a very 80's Canadian sound. You can stream it at their site http://www.inflightsafety.ca/
