Broker1981
Hi! My nephnew has his confirmation comming up, and i was wondering if you knew of any cool tough rep watches that would suit a boy his age. I should mention that he likes the watches i have bought, and that i knows that they are reps. He wants one for himself, but he wants to be surprised. He's phyiscally active and a decent skateboarder. I have been thinking of the AP BumbleBee Limited Edition All tips are welcome Thank you!
mactower
I would think that the Rolex Sea Dwellers would handle a beating. The movements are not as complex as a chrono and would be cheaper to fix or get serviced.
TeeJay
How about a PAM 112 on a cuff-style bund strap?
ubiquitous
My first suggestion would actually be a cheap gen Seiko Monster gets my vote as it's durable and relatively low cost; good for a knock around watch.
deniz21
come on a 15 year old boy... buy him a seiko monster or a g shock and all is fine
ChipSlap
+1 for the Seiko. With a new Seiko, you can be blindly confident in the Water Resistance in a way you can't with a rep. The monster is great, along with the SKX007/009.
P8B
+1 on a sekio

Ben
Get the seiko monster, thats my go to beater, amazing quality for the money and then later down the line he can mod it with the custom dials and hands that are so readily available
panerai153
I have to agree, the Seiko is the way to go. I gave one to my son several years ago, and he wears it every day (he's a farmer) and it has been a great watch. Pretty bomb proof!
drolson
I would vote for the Seiko SKX007 on oyster bracelet. I had one myself and i loved it. KLICK
FxrAndy
Seiko monster
maulermacall@hotmail.com
Agree with a cheap gen. A 15 yr old with a AP or Rolex is a bit OTT at that age
Jkay
A skater? No way a Japanese watch has ANY street cred with teenagers. Try this Full props to whomever posted this image originally. It's not my watch.
Member X
That's a one-off custom build iirc so you'll have to build one yourself if you want one
Nanuq
Simple... get Harold to build him one of these. Is it a Seiko? Or isn't it?
alligoat
I like this seiko that I just picked up for $140 delivered from Harold @Yobokies over in HK. He also has lots of other modded Seikos, very reasonable. You can find him on the Military Watch Resource website in the sales section. He does a 16610 mod which is cool- uses a SKX009, I believe. crystalcranium
Got my 14 year old a Casio G-Shock 7 years ago and he and watch are still going strong.
mastrmindalliance
<-- grew up on a skate board (well many kinds of boards actually) and at 37 I still skate. The most "skate" rep I own IMO is the PVD Sinn U1. Besides being super cool looking, reliable and tough, it has the bonus of being highly accurate and reasonably priced. For a teen I would buy a PVD U1 without doubt over the usual suspects. A teen just wouldn't get them - no contest.

TeeJay
I'll never forget the photo Pugwash posted of a fogged up Seiko. I think that was a good reminder that even genuine does not guarantee perfection If you were to go down the Seiko route, and go with the option Nanuq suggested of customizing, here's a site which sells a lot of nice parts. I'm planning on using it as a source for when I get round to building a totally custom watch for my godson

scotty
There's a Sinn U1000 PVD for sale here in RWG as we speak. Looks a good price....... Have it re-lumed and you're away.
fakemaster
Half the guys on the boards can't keep from breaking their watches. How long long do you think a rep will last with a healthy 15 year old.lol.
