By-Tor Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Hi River. Good to see you back, where have you been? Now that's a great franken-Daytona. Top stuff.
dluddy Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Great stuff River. Good to see you bringing the goods
dbutlerman Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I am curious about the movement. Is it the same as the el primero or just the same size/spacing?
By-Tor Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 It's the one and only Zenith El Primero. The old Daytona movement. Old Ebel 1911 Chronos used that movement too, before they changed to inhouse "Modulor". PS: This is the exact same model that Don Johnson used in Miami Vice. LINK.
dbutlerman Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Wow, the el primero made appearances across many different brands. Interesting, very interesting.
By-Tor Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Wow, the el primero made appearances across many different brands. Interesting, very interesting. Lots of brands used it. Movado in their top model, Ebel... I'm sure there were others too. TAG Heuer still uses it in Link Calibre 36 chrono (the most expensive Link).
dbutlerman Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Wow even Movado. I'm going to research this movement a little more.
KB Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Good to see you back River and yes that is a beautiful Daytona. Ken
Dizzy Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Where do you get an MBW daytona case?? I heard they used to make them but i have never seen one before... This must have come with one of the old wide spaced subdial ETA7750 movements?? Very cool project!!
wiesn089 Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 That's a beautiful piece. I'm also very curious about the source for your MBW case.
jr.101 Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 stunning! how much will a project like that cost? (just curious) gru
coolfire Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I'd really want one of those... Wish I had the dough!
watcher Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 That is a lovely watch my old friend and I'm guessing you are selling as you said it will be in your section soon! There was a case set that came out of Taiwan but not sure it is still made or available. The original George used to sell these(NOT George of WM9) I think Ubi's may have this case set too but not sure.
FxrAndy Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Nice watch River, I just noticed an increase of body parts for sale on ebay i think people are trying to collect spare cash for your sale

I used to buy sets from George (greece George), but back in 2007 he replied he no longer has them. Got one set left, but not sure i want to part with it.
river Posted August 24, 2010 Author Report Posted August 24, 2010 if you are interested this whole set please mail me directly gub39@yahoo.com.tw thanks!
