  1. I have updated this thread below with a comparison of the TC V4 bracelet v's the TC V3 and Gen PJ10 There have been numerous mini, fragmented reviews of TC's latest 'V4' 93250 bracelet across the forums, but personally I have not yet found a detailed breakdown. I was about to place an order for one to upgrade my V3 but the reviews have been mixed and inconclusive? There appears to be lots of comments and confusion about the clasp stiffness, edge finish, weight and general feel, coronet design/size etc. Many saying it is not as good as the V2, or V3 and some saying it is almost perfect etc It appears to me that various versions are being shipped as V4's - but they may not in fact be V4's - if that makes sense? I have an Rolex AD supplied, PJ10 coded 93150/585 for my 1665 GWSD, so I thought I would compare some of the headline features, fit and finish with my TC V3 93250/SEL set up. Both of these are date coded to 2008, although, as we know the TC v3 is a 2013 model It appears that the material, size, fit and finish of the two clasps are indeed very close (albeit one is a 93150 and one a 93250). The only design difference is the set up of location holes on the clasp sides, to accept the respective styles of diver extensions and pin bars etc - old and new style. Plus a few other minor differences, which I will highlight below. I will run through some details and then provide my own personal interpretation..... For the most part the GEN bracelet is to the left as you look at it or in the lower position. I have not cleaned or brushed the bracelet - straight off the watch. The GEN is 5 years old and has seen a lot of use! Flip Lock Clasp Overall size, feel, gauge and quality is very good and comparable. Look at the coronet........ As we know the TC V3 is a little wider, squatter and more open and the oval at the base of the coronet is a little 'incomplete' - but pretty good on the wrist. It is a little less defined and crisp - lacking a little depth. The two claps are of equal dimension - the camera is playing tricks here as it makes the TC look bigger - they are the same! TC Gen Internal stampings TC Gen Attachment of the Flip Lock and spacing There have been some negative comments made about the flip lock spacing on TC's clasps, but as you can see they are spot on! The edge finish around the metal is also quite similar. This is a V3 TC clasp and the fit and finish is no worse or different to gen. The Gen clasp is in the lower position below - note the slight difference to the thumbnail rebate/chamfer on the underside of the flip lock. The main difference between the two clasps is the length of the two parallel stiffening lines and the size of the Rolex logo/swirl - see it below? The central hinge pin on the two halves is good and stiff and very, very gen like! It should be stiff. Any small brown marks are 'crud' - it is not rust  A closer look at the upper surface of the main clasp and coronet. Size, design and finish is very well replicated.......you can see the 5 years wear and tear on my Gen clasp  Links and overall finish... My Tc is as it comes out of the box other than a WD40 and baby oil batch - no brushing or polishing to date. The Gen has been worn and possibly polished from time to time to tidy her up? The links on the TC 93250 are thicker than the gen 93150 - but this may also be correct with a Gen 93250? Anyone know on this one????? The screws are a work of 'engineering art', as TC says on his own V3 blog - spot on............ Overall Summary As we all know and recognise the TC bracelet is the best effort to date at a Rolex hollow link oyster. Everything about it reflects the real deal and oozes quality - at less than 5% of the Gen price!!!!!!! For me the only real screaming tell is the coronet on the clasp - and this is highly visible to all on the wrist. Poor coronets are synonymous with 'Reps'. It is not the worst we have seen - but it can easily be improved. I expected and hoped that the V4 would address this issue, but all of the pics I have seen so far seem to be very similar to the V3 - they do not look like the V4 prototype (suspected gen) V4 coronet that TC posted on his blog? So, if you have a great V4 coronet, please post pics ! The weight, feel, fit and finish are excellent and are very hard to discern over the genuine article. The macro pics above do not tell the whole story. When you have them both in hand, or on your wrist side by side they are really quite indistinguishable - unless you is a really GEEKY RISTI! TC in action..................... TC V4 has just landed..............first impressions............ Clasp coronet is a huge improvement and very, very close now...............discernible without expert close side by side inspection! The colour of the base metal (or maybe the brushed finish?) is darker/different - see snaps below. I expect this will rebrush and capecod up back to a Gen or TC V3 colour? I have not examined the links or other details as yet. Gen V TC V4........... Gen v V3 v V4............ I hope that this has helped some new members, or those contemplating a TC oyster upgrade and or watch. So, please add to the the thread with your own thoughts and opinions. Especially, if you are a V4 owner - post up some more pics to compare to mine - Many thanks

  2. Thought this would be a laugh for the current football season, I hope there is some footy fans on here! Im sure there will be! I have created a League through The Telegraph. You can register your team here - http://fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/?utm_source=tcuk&utm_medium=hpto&utm_campaign=tffrecruit Just select your side and follow the instructions, once you have decided on a team you need to join the RWG league, the details are as follows: LEAGUE NAME: RWG PIN: 8044590 Please use your RWG username as the team name. As an incentive and prize, I will make the winner a custom Ammo Strap, in whatever style/size they require. Second place will receive an English Cow Hide strap in whatever style/size they require. I will also do a manager of the month prize in the start of the new year. There is no charge for entry and no charge to create your team, however I think it would be nice if a small donation to RWG was made, nothing much maybe £2 each. There is still just over a week before the first game so plenty of time for everyone to create a team and join. Once the season starts the league will be locked. This thread will be used for me as the league chaiman to update everyone as to the league standings. So come on guys get building those championship winning sides!!!

  3. This is the 4th version of TC 93250 bracelet. It's predecessor was TC 93250 V3. TC 93250 V4 is made by a different bracelet maker. The V3 bracelet maker refuses to make improvements on the V3 clasp coronet or place engravings in the SEL trench. To me, the V3 bracelet served as a good quality stainless steel bracelet. However, the coronet on the V3 clasp is the Achilles' heel because it is not as protruding as V2 clasp, which representing gen oyster clasps from 2002 to 2007, or is not as slim and crisp as gen oyster clasps from 2008 to 2010. Earlier this year I promised Janeto72 to persuade the V3 bracelet maker to make Janeto/TC 93253 bracelet for the two tone Submariner 16613. With the V3 maker reluctant to make further improvements, I had to seek alternative options/makers because making two tone bracelet requires even more accurate tooling and machining. Another reason being the V3 maker was reluctant to make any more counterfeit watch bracelets. I will try to debrief the atmosphere in China some time later. Let's just stick to the topic for now. Sifu L hooked me up with a reputable bracelet maker in Thailand. He vouched for me that I'm not some undercover agent from FHS (Federation de l'industrie horologere Suisse). Then the project 93250 V4 went on. TC 93250 V4 bracelet maker gave me a tour of his factory before I placed the order. I was quite satisfied with what I saw - a clean, organized manufacturing facility with seemingly civilized, Westernized administration, which translates to easier communication. Before my review, I want you to know the batch I received has some variance issues. Here's SSTEEL's review: My Interim Review of Ordering/Purchasing TC's Type II LV Sub. Here's the problem reported from HeuerTag and pbwatch on RG: Pictures: TC 93250 V4 bracelet. After reading the reported problems, I spent the whole weekend unpacking every piece of TC 93250 V4 I received and inspect each one of them. I did find variances and some I would categorize as defective units even by rep standard. To make sure TC 93250 V4 has the best fit with TC Sub case, I have to hand pick and match the bracelet to the case. Therefore I will no longer pass TC 93250 V4 to members as a stand alone part. SSTEEL reported TC 93250 V4 safety clasp edge being a little sharp. It is true. I checked my gen safety clasp and I confirm it is a gen feature. See how gen edge is polished to the point it begins to turn just mirror finish. Same with TC 93250 V4 safety clasp. If you are already accustomed to the modern super cased Submariner 116610 all rounded edges, just a tad sharp at the safety clasp is how classic Submariner 16610 really feels like. If you don't like it, the edge can be dull out by a nail file. Take away the variance issues, TC 93250 V4 bracelet is probably by far the best stainless steel Submariner bracelet I ever found. The V4 SEL has the same good fit to TC Sub watch case as V3 did. TC LV Sub to the left, Gen 16610 Sub to the right. The bracelet edges are gen finish. TC 93250 V4 clasp coronet against gen. Gen to the left, TC 93250 V4 at the center left, TC 93250 V3 center right, TC 93250 V2 to the right. While my pursuit is after the perfect sub, we have to remember that we are also paying 1/15th of the price compare to a gen. With this said, I will have to strive a balance and pick and choose which I will have to sacrifice with my limited resource. This is my logic of evaluation. Since my goal is the aesthetics of looking and feeling like a gen, the improved coronet is a big step forward in the right direction. The SEL trench etching is an added bonus but when push comes to the shelf, the etching I can do without since no one will see. Over all, the improved coronet on the V4 clasp along with the etched 93250 are the winning points for me. In the end of the day, TC 93250 V4 represents the original 93250 finish better than any of its predecessors. TC 8/14/13

  4. I did indeed remove the bezel...its an absolute pain in the proverbial! its on there tight, and its very easy to bend the bezel ring...and also chip the ceramic insert if your not careful...looking at gen blue version pics from when this model was released the bezel is very shiny giving the blue an almost faded look-just like the black version looks grey/silver in certain light, however, when I viewed a blue version at an AD last week the bezel was more matte finish and almost textured...I asked the sales guy (a mate of mine) about this and hes under the impression omega tweaked the design slightly but couldn't say for 100%...the pics of yours actually looks quite close to the one I seen... if you decided to try and polish it, you may well take the paint off if your not careful and wreck the bezel...a better way if you can get the bezel off and remove the insert with great care would be to give it a few coats of high gloss clear coat spray...would defo give a glossier/shinier appearance... out of the box, the black is very much the closest to gen...in fact its mad how close for a first run rep...i'll be doing a thread in a week or so with a tear down review and pics...

  7. the He valve may screw/unscrew but does not go through the entire case-theres no hole through to the movement so no probs there, the crown screws down pretty good (on mine atleast) with a lot of turns to lock it, crystal gasket was a little thin when I stripped my entire watch to check the build but works fine, caseback gasket is present and if greased will be fine, caseback tightens down nice and tight...and to top it off, I had mine pressure tested to both 50m then 100m at a local shop-it passed no problems! ofcourse get yours pressure tested as not all reps are the same... the watch is bigger than a sub c yes...I found my no date sub c rep wore very small, good looking, but the seamaster feels more substantial on my wrist...

  10. Beautiful watch, congratulations mate. I was swithering between getting the grey dial or banana dial. Ultimately I went for the banana version however looking at your pictures is making me wish I had gone for the grey one! It definitely is a super-rep! Wear in good health mate.

  12. I received the blue one (blue SMP has always been MY personal fav), and I am pleased. However, I will admit that this bezel insert has what looks like a blue paint on top and is not glass-like shiny as the black version is.

  13. wait, I'm confused. I thought we had the option of shutting off avatars if we are offended/don't want to see them. So we have a solution to the problem that already exists and is implemented, yet we are still discussing it? Seems like a thread that should never have started in the first place IMO.

  14. If one has to explain to his wife or whomever, just take it as an advantage "Look...there are some crazy guys...they're way more ill then I am...so don't blame me for being a watch addict!!" I'm sorry for you guys, but at least I won't change my avatar. There is a good reason why it always makes me smile when looking at it and I don't want to miss it. I have been banned from repgeek for using this avatar and I have to say...if they don't want me, I don't need them!! Sent from my wooden drums using Tupperware.
