  1. i'd try and avoid the engraving, you get all sorts of variables and problems with it. try and get an MBK one if you can, a few hundred dollars less than WM9, contact narika. noobmariner is a good watch and a casual place to start, but if you're like most sub owners eventually it just wont do it for you and you'll go the next step, either MBK or WM9, if you can see yourself being that person save your money and buy the next step as the noobmariner has obvious flaws even to the amateur collector, where as wm9 you almost need to be an expert to pick up on them.
  2. sure thing i found the second hand on the 4813 a little rough compared to ETA when ticking
  3. i've never gotten a sealed movement from ETA in their gas filled shipping bubbles, has anyone here?
  4. ya know i've never updated windows, ever. and I have yet to run into a problem. also cant update windows with my pirated key been a few years now running XP
  5. christ! what kind of exposure times are you looking at with these magnifications?
  6. more with the gap between the case and the end link when installed. the springbar holes being too far forward made it sit too far down the lugs, i could read the lug engraving on the case, unacceptable.
  7. i solved this problem for those who may in the future be in the same situation i'll explain it. the problem wasnt with the bracelet end link dimensions as previously thought, staring at the problem seriously for a little bit made me realize the position of the drilled spring bar holes on the interior of the lugs was too far forward (China, TW QC) . without installing a spring bar the lugs fit fine, once installed there were gaps in the front between the case and the lugs. Solution bend some spring bars into a slight 'U' shape, more like a preachers curl bar to allow the link to go forward but still lock in the holes. some crappy spring bars split in half when i tried to bend them, but luckily I had some high quality spring bars from my OMEGA AD that I paid a total of $1.50 for after taxes from their student intern guessing their value, very good quality. I bent them with some force, never snapped or showed fatigue. Happy to report bracelet now fits 95% properly, the lugs still look like they over step the sides of the end link a little too much or dont follow the contour perfectly, hopefully I can keep my OCD neurosis in check.
  8. fixed it with some tinkering. theres a lot of levers on the movement that can be pushed aside, doing so reset something, all works now...
  9. my ST-19 winds and the main spring holds tension as I cant wind it any further, I can set the time also, but the balance wheel wont oscillate and the seconds sub dial wont tick. If i give the watch a gentle shake the balance wheel starts to oscillate for about 3 seconds then slows to a stop, and the seconds subdial still doesnt move. last thing I did to the watch before this happened was press the grand seconds chrono hand on to the main stack and remove some debris from the movements bridge with rodico. prior to this it did run properly. any ideas?
  10. You can get an NDT for $250 or less thatd be my choice
  11. body building takes time, patience, discipline, and dedication. hour - two hours a day 4-6 days a week with a bench and vigorous cardio and you'll see serious results
  12. same as PT, same as Prowatch Polo, same as Seans ETAswiss 'cept they seem to have more dial options excellent value and watch out of the box, gen crystal wont fit without custom ring.
  13. i think i saw that one for sale on that bay! and immediately thought they need to start repping these
  14. just found a DL for helicon focus on RS. this is from 2008, so fairly recent. im gonna try it out when i get my reversing ring. im sure you'll try it before then, tell me how it goes.
  15. wm9V2/3 endlinks dont fit wm9v1 case properly either. only option is to find a wm9v1 bracelet or endlinks, or go NATO. (nope) *sigh* there's always something my current wm9v2/3 bracelet endlinks measure 8mm long by 20.29mm wide and they fit too loose. could someone be so kind as to measure v1 endlinks for me, or know off hand?
  16. just ordered a reversing ring... for a whole $4.70 w/shipping! fortunately (this time) im on a Canon setup, AV setting it is.
  17. oh man, exposes SOOO MUCH dust that would drive me nuts! what ratio are you getting with this?! Pugs $5 setup yields great results, i've pondered the five dollar setup but the thought of damaging or getting debris on the element pretty much discouraged me...even tho it was a $100 lens to begin with..hmm. I assume metering doesnt work properly with reverse adapters
  18. ive done the swap. you might need a new movement ring too, you can reuse the date wheel overlay by slicing it off the date wheel like i did. only problem is lining it correctly with a dial that has no feet, the alignment will change every time you put the dial on after adjusting it.
  19. been a week and havnt heard back from ETz, not sure what goes on over there
  20. If you could measure these two widths for me, thanks
  21. how wide is the case on this? is it 37mm at its widest part no including the crown like advertised?
