Thought i would use JMBs tools last night and changed the hands on this one to what they are supposed to be I had big pilot ones on before and the min hand was just a touch too long.

Well we have already have a thread all about marketing and it is called "little white lies"

The stem release pin has a slot above it as a hint to only use a screw driver that size so that you cant depress to far, it sounds like you have depressed to far and the keyless needs re-assembaling

I would put this down to the play in the gearing between the hour and min wheels. it would be reasonable to assume that gearing made with older tooling would have more (or less depending on if they are stamped or cut) play than new tooling. I have just had a play with 4 unitas/seagull 6498 3 2824s and 2 A7750 and the 7750 has the most play in this area, and the seagull the least, maybe Ziggy or Francisco can explain if my theroy is correct and if some one can have a play with a swiss 7750 and see if that also has play.

I have ordered one of these and so far the service from watch gallery is very good, reply's to emails a bit slow but never less i have received photos of the clasp and the postage label that was typed so there will be no problems with reading the address. It may be a while until i get it as i have sent it to another address to avoid my local customs but i will let you all see it when i get it.

Well at that price for a 2893 you will have a good GMT watch, ok it is a long way from a 1655 but it has similar lines.

Good points Open 6 and 9s Flat top to the As on the case back engraving No stubbies behind the lume markers bad points date is to far in board The case back looks a too flat Engraving looks laser engraved where the gen would have been stamped Is there a non date version? some great info can be found here

Sure it is repairable, 6497s are very simple movements.
