  1. Well good to hear you are fine. And hey that is going to itch when it grown back!
  2. Welcome to RWG, i have heard of 99 brand but cant remember why, but like we say use the collectors here that way if you have a drama you can let us all know about it, non of the collectors like bad publicity and tent to keep their act pretty clean. There alr always small discepancys with descriptions on sites, like the wrong movement listed or massive claims or water resistance that could not be checked with any thing but the most expencive equipment. I have found most sport watches can be more than water resistance for a swim or a wet ride on a harley. If you have questions about a listing just ask. Your best tool here is to read and reasearch about the watch you want and the seller you want to use. Look through the sellers past sales ect, is he /she best for you geographicaly ect, some times the cheepest price is not always the best.
  3. You know i thought this could be a very different discussion with leather and rubber in the title, shame, but i do have an oppinion. I am not a fan of rubber on expencive watches, ruber to me always looks? well? to GSHOCKish, i tried a PO on rubber and i never really liked it, but on SS i loved it, so for me it would have to be leather or SS, if i was after a very work like strap i would have to go with kevlar if one was available.
  4. Quite amazed how white the text and lume lookd on the fiddy, any chance of a lume shot?
  5. I hope this special day finds you well and with many more to come.
  6. Welcome to RWG, i hope you stay is worth while and knowlegable
  7. Well all is well that ends well, lets hope this is read by others and they dont make the same mistake, at least you did not chuck the gift out the window in anger. So what do you get them, lets see it!
  8. The two sandwitch dials look great, ok the sausage one is a bit? but as you say practice makes perfect, well done indeed.
  9. Only a couple of days to go now, Stephane and my self are looking forward to it greatly, I know VDB and a few other mentioned coming over for it, dose any one intend to? Just let us know when so that we can arragne to be at least a little sober and also not in the massage salon when you arrive. this place will be magical with this weather. Just 3 working days to go.
  10. No need to feel stupid we have all been through problems like this, i hope that Ziggy catches site of this thread and may put us all on the right track, One thought that has just poped up is , Is there a spacer on top of the old movement between the dial and movement, may still be on the old one? if there was then it would explain the problem as being the stem alignment?
  11. Is it just when the stem is screwed down or as soon as you put the stem in, I think they should be the same but just check that the stem that came with the 2846 is the same as the one from the 2836 that i suspect you are useing. The other thought is that the stem hights are different.
  12. hour wheel first, then the copper tension washer, then dial, then hour , min , seconds hand, backn in the case and replace the crown
  13. well apart from the crown position it must be perfect?
  14. That is not a unitas copy, what is the size of the case, i would su pect that is the normal 21j with a new top bridge and the auto winder removed, and a very nice swans neck regulator built on, looks very nice i would like to see this movement in the flesh.
  15. Hey Bob we got snow too in germany now, nothing like you but it was nice to walk a borrowed dog for an hour.
  16. I have a coupel of boxes here both rep and a gen, I think for a watch that is as much a display piece as a wrist watch or even more so like my fiddy ( it gets very little wrist time) A nice Box makes a great place to display the watch. This box came as a gift from a great friend and person here. Sorry about the photos but it was never my strong point I have an Omega box that i bought mainly just to compare it with the gen box i have here and it makes a great storage place for my speedy The box and info compares well with the gen box i would say, some differences but hey it coat a 10th of the price. The rest of mine sit in winders that are just used as displays Some very bad photos of 90% of my collection, the teddys were gift that i hade reciecved as gifts when i have been away, Tuff ted for example servered the whole of Gulf war 1 (desert storm and shield) so they deserve their place!
