  1. it may be that the crown retaining screw has worked loose, it is fairly comon. and an easy fix for any one with sticky balls and a set of watchmakers screw drivers (1.2mm)
  2. It is a personal account, and I have rang PayPal and on the phone they confirmed they want photo id, it is not a scam it is just PayPal collecting more info than needed
  3. I think that miyota looks good in there!!!!!
  4. Mine is sorted thanks to the Gentleman Coolfire
  5. I don't see the problem of surfing non board approved modders the problem is the modders them selfs taking on more than they can handle
  6. It may just be that it has some moisture in it, try removing the case back and locking it in a tupperwear container for 24-48 hours with some silica gel packs or failing that rice so that they will absorb all the moisture then check the case back gasket it ok, lube it with some silicon grease and re seal it up
  7. Not heard anything about precious time for a link time scoobs
  8. If you want to age the case and crystal don't baby the watch, wear it in the garden and the garage and let it age naturally
  9. Pam 89, I think it has had less than a week off my wrist since last may
  10. well you keep on with your home tests untill you flood it and then take it to your watchmaker for an expencive clean, a presure test is safe, dunking it in a glass of water is not and will not prove anything apart from that it leaks.
  11. well get it tested propperly and then you will knw for sure where the leak is.
  12. Any one got a spare pair of 24mm spring bars (the ones that look like screws) in the EU they want to sell me?
  13. Have you had it tested? Was it a wet test? If so where did it leak from?
  14. This is interesting, the bad rate gain and loss of amplitude is due to the loss of torque as the spring unwinds, it is just one of those things we can attribute to phisics, maybe the gen does use some sort of torque converter, maybe the different size main springs have an effect. A fusee would compensate for the loss but that would have to be designed in from the start. I am assuming that this has a primary and secondary barrel, with the power to the train coming from one barrel and the secondary barrel feeding power to that rather than two barrels feeding at the same time (due to the high torque that would cause)
  15. Well I have just had another email going on about Office of Foreign Assets Control, kurz OFAC, but I am not a us citizen, hardly any of my transactions involve the US and what right do they have to ask for photo ID
  16. It is all coming from PayPal not a third party, the odd thing is that they go on about American rules and regulations, but PayPal in Europe is registered in Luxembourg and the payment that started all this off was EU - EU and the current payment is with in the EU Well photo ID is what they want and the only one I have is my passport and they are not having that
  17. I tried to send some one a payment for some used motorcycle parts a while ago and PayPal stopped the payment, they wanted a copy of my passport and the date of birth of the seller? After a call to PayPal and me telling them I would not give them a copy of my passport and the seller would not give me their DOB, the payment was returned and the limitation on my account lifted. On Friday I bought a cover for a blackberry from within my own country, this morning I get an email from PayPal saying my account is limited again for going against trading laws either buying or selling and again they want a copy of my passport! Has any one else had this or similar issues recently, or requests for photo ID?
  18. Excellent work Rolexman, reminds me of the old days and ziggys reviews
  19. To be brutally honest you are better sticking with stainless steel The plating on reps is not always the best and small scratches can often lead to an expensive paperweight As you say you are female, why not try a simple men's submariner They look very good on ladies too
  20. Well try and you will find that they are all sold out, the dealers never remove old watches from the web sites If you try using the search function you may find I have a bit of experience here and with the ingy
