  1. Looks really nice, IMO, even compared to my genuine PO. I hope they'll make a good liquid metal rep, too...
  2. From comparing Joshs pics with my gen this rep look amazingly good!
  3. Post in the Want to buy section of the board. This is the wrong section for your request.
  4. Maybe you can still get one of the 14k wrapped gold noobmariners. They used to be pretty good and the wrapped 14k stuff won't wear off. BTW: Obviously you've seen one of the best movies ever produced
  5. mt666tm: You are right, I have the same concerns. Unfortunately just thickening the CG will not look right as it would nearly eliminate the little step in profile above the CG.
  6. Why can't they get this one right? http://www.1-pc8838.com/jl00154-reverso-skeleton-ssss-asian-decorated-movt-p-9493.html it would be so simple: - Make a good dial - Make a CLOSED case back that is not screwed to the watch but pressed in like on the gen. Stupidity? Ignorance? So many people ask for a Reverso. This could be a big seller.
  7. then don't buy from her. As you can see from the first picture the lever is protruding so much that it can not be sanded down without hitting the hole for the pin!
  8. The liquid metal is not worth the premium over the standard planet ocean. The glossy dial makes the watch look cheap IMO.
  9. BTW, that is not only a US thing. We have the same difficulties over here in Europe and most probably you will only get parts if you know your AD very well and he wants to do you a favour for all the grands you spent in his store...
  10. Nice to see that there actually is feedback. In the meantime we are facing some trouble: The genuine CF case hase different dimensions and therefore different looks compared to the steel case: The pushers are located lower in the case in relation to the dial. It is not clear if the rep movement would work with a lower pusher location. This has to be checked carefully. A fabricator that I already contacted for the mold has already backed out. His production capacity is not sufficient. Unfortunately this company are among the best I know. We need to find a solution for crown tube and we have to insert nuts into the CF case for the band screws. We need to find someone that it is able to produce this at competitive prices. So we have to decide if we simply want a replacement for the standard SS case or if we want an acurate case and I have to find someone competent for the mold and steel parts (crown tube, nuts).
  11. I did a similar mod to my PloProf V2 and put half a spring from a spring bar in each original spring coming with the clasp. Works great, is simple to do and to be honest my gen PloProf's clasp did not work better.
  12. Plus you'll need a very good looking movement as the 210 has a see through case back.
  13. Photoetching and PVD coating of a thin nickel silver plate could be the trick...
  14. Wow, very impressive! And now on to a perfect Luminor Chrono Flyback 361. You already have the perfect strap from the Daylight
  15. Hello guys, got my DSN 024d last week and waterproofed it and installed T48 SL crown, reshaped Torobravo crown guard and Taka datewheel in the meantime. While it is a very nice and solid feeling watch I am not sure whether it is a keeper or not... Unfortunately I already hit something in the workshop with the bezel and scratched it It still is a pitty that DSNs watches lack the love for details. Nearly everything I've done to this watch is something DSN could have done before without making his production more costly. Instead he ships his watches with a useless crown guard and a crappy crown. But I have to admit that DSNs lume is still nicer than on most reps. The following picture was made after having the watch in sunlight for about two minutes and was taken in the shadow.
  16. the first 50 or so 201a had a black paint on the dial that somehow affected the aging process of the numerals. From what I heard they were turning brown so quickly that Panerai decided to change to another type of paint that keeps the numerals bright white. Those first 201a are now the most sought after 201a.
  17. now that's funny: No quick release pins! Back to the good old screws
  18. Is that a DSN dial? I like the little shadows in the numerals Looks like a good buy!
  19. Clearly the 195 followed by 360 and the ceramic 292.
  20. Don't forget that 72, 74, 108 and 121 had see through case backs and the movement was decorated with PANERAI engravings...
  21. I am still in the process of designing a mold - and it will take a few more months as I won't be at home until december.
  22. There are nice reps, but they use a gen movement and will cost you at least 4 grand...
  23. All the rep daytonas are a lot thicker than the gens and at least for me it is very obvious. The weight distribution is compeletely different from the gen what makes the watch rather uncomfortable to wear compared with the gen.
