No, I agree with freddy. I have been sucked in to spending much more than common sense would dictate on getting a rep "just so". You just can't help it!
BTW, the date mag is wrong and the case back is wrong. It is not the colour of the hands that's wrong, it is the shape. The bezel insert looks incorrect for this mosel as well, it's missing the pearl.
Unless you are in love. I would treat this as a "bitsa".
Things don't look quite right here. Apart from the movement, which does look suspiciously small, the hands are wrong for this model.
The crown looks too big, and the bezel edge is one I have not seen before on this model.
But...... if you take it at face value as a franken, and get it for a song, it would be worth a punt.
I leave my reps at home. I bought an old Seiko diver which never leaves my wrist on holiday.
Sun, sea or sand, it doesn't matter what happens to that old conker!
I use a 5x loupe for assembly and a 7.5x for luming.
Took a bit of getting used to at first, but now I couldn't do without them.
I tried a magnifier, but there is no comparison. Loupe every time.
Superb choice lani!
Although not in your league, here is my own Explorer 1 with homemade dial.
One of my favourite watches, though I prefer the look on the leather strap.
Great write-up! Love the finish on those cooked dials.
I must get me one of those air-brushes one day. But it's a fairly large outlay just for painting a few dials.
Looking forward to part 2.
