  1. Stunning and rare beast that is...one of my favorite vintages!!! Congrats!
  2. Another great comparision! This is great info to have! Thanks M! BTW you'll never notice the scuffs, because you will most likely ding the bezel and the crystal on things, so I won't worry about it!
  3. Love it M!!!! LLOOVVEEE IT!!! Everyone that are in love with the Cosmograph manual winds should pick up this little book... http://www.patrizziauction.com/index.php/en/catalogs-and-books/patrizzi-and-co-books I've recently received mine and it is jammed packed full of information in a small format. What is interesting is that that there is no "hard and fast" rule as to which part should go with which case...
  4. Unfortunately, the cheapest dealer is Yuki...but you are going into $800+ territory. If you can get a proper dial to fit a proper case, then 3/4 of the battle will be won!
  5. And all along I thought you owned it...I was deceived... :black_eye: .... Anyway...would this make a good base for a Tudor BC project??? http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7&products_id=6694&zenid=1abe5a44a4ae51054b38721478d71288 I think sourcing a good dial is an issue, because they are very rare to come by! I would go with a slow beat ETA 247X and flatten the case back. That would be the cheapest I can think of...
  6. Wow!!! That is a nice Tudor sub...tell us more W!
  7. Great to see that there is a cheaper alternative to the Yuki 7836. I just might have to pick one up for my 1655 Franken! Thanks M!
  8. I have on occasion cold weld dial feet back into position. You really don't need to make any templates, etc. You just need some Bergeon feet and steady hands. Position the feet in the movement, place a small dab of JB weld on each feet. Center the dial on the movement, hold until cement sets. Don't worry if the feet position isn't 100% accurate, remember that the feet bend with ease. But that being said, using adhesive dial strips are much easier, but the dial can sometimes shift a little.
  9. Thanks guys! This is what I thought...fonts were too thin also! I didn't bid on it, but I feel sorry for the person who paid $515 for it!
  10. Is this a gen Rolex 62xx bezel ??? Bids are around $355 so far... Thanks guys!
  11. I got loads of parts offshore! But it'll come out from Canada. PM me if you still need the part! Cheers!
  12. Very nice J! A great alternative to the Explorer I, but with date! Wear it with pride...
  13. Holy smack! With all these projects on the go, no wonder there is some vehicle neglect in the household...another sweet Tudor J!
  14. That is so awesome M...all the pics are taken conveniently in one place! You can take pics while suring the net all at the same time!
  15. I want my 1601 case and movement back!!!! Of course, with the dial, hands, crystal, etc...etc...etc.. It was a fun project! I'm glad that it turned out this well!!!! Congrats M!!!
  16. yeah boyz....that is why I withdrew my "more accurate" comment... I talked to Angus a few months ago and he and I discussed that he had a 1655 coming and that we wouldn't be disappointed...after from what I seen from him on the 1665 and the 1680...guess what...I'm disappointed. It seems that the highlight of this piece is the use of a 2846....because I've never seen a 2846 modded to have the 24 hour function
  17. I've been focused on too many Rolex projects and haven't given any dedicated time to any other brands...so... Introducting my franken baby PloProf!!! I manage to find a NOS Omega case and hands. I had trouble sourcing the original dial and decided to purchase the replacement dial from CousinsUK. All in all...I think it turned out pretty good! I really like the unidirectional bezel and the way it was machined...very substantial!!!! With the construction, I'm actually surprised that this watch wasn't rated for more than 120m. Next is the shot of the CG's with the screw down crown. Omega must have taken some time to sculpt these CG's! A shot of the case back...the protective layer hasn't even been removed yet. So why is it a franken???? Well...the original was suppose to come with an Omega 1010...I used a 1012...thus I have to call it a franken!!! Now...if I can only find the integrated bracelet, then I can all this project done! Thanks for looking!
  18. guys...now that I look at the PT 1655 closer...I'm retracting my "more accurate" comment! There are plus' and minus' to this 1655...
  19. I agree with you guys...but Angus strived to modify a 2846...which is a plus for Angus...there is no price...so I don't know if this is a "prototype" or not. To comment further on the bracelet, depending on the year of the vintage, it may not be folded link...
  20. Guys, It seems like a trend, but whenever Josh offers a vintage, Angus follows in a few months and introduces a more accurate vintage. New 1655 offering from Angus... http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/rolex-2010-07-31-01/ Dial markers look closer to the edge of the rehaut, lume is a better vintage colour, AND it uses to what it looks like a slower beat 2846! One big issue too many "T's where the Tritium level is indicated at the bottom of the dial! Cheers!!!
  21. It looks like you Wang the Wong numba!!!!
