  1. This is so awesome! Great work jmb!!!
  2. me like...I don't know if you noticed ASCI, but PT also has the 1680 with the tropical dial and bezel!!!
  3. Thanks for all the great comments guys and also all the additional info that everyone provided!!!
  4. Beautiful Alligoat! Yikes! It looks like you are correct! I made the assumption that all the movements in my parts box is 2836! Thanks for the catch!
  5. For the bracelet, I sourced mine through an E-Bay seller...raffles-time. Great guy to deal with and reasonable. Just make sure that at check out you specify that you want a bracelet that is fully branded.
  6. Thanks guys! @stilty...thanks for the info provided! The overlay that I'm using has that inherent rep problem in which not all the days are centered in the date window. I probably spent an hour trying to find a "fine balance" on the centering issue..
  7. Had some extra gen Rolex parts floating around in my parts box. Was bored and decided to create a franken. I took the 1570 out of the Rolex Date and it went to a better place Because of it's size (34mm), it's not something that you see very often, but I had fun building it and it is my very first Datejust/Date franken. It's a gen gold shelled Rolex/dial/handset/buckle with a modified 2836 ETA. The watch looks rather classy with the burgandy leather strap. The gold shelled cases wear better than gold plated and has the more consistent gold color...no brassiness here... The buckle is a solid gold gen buckle... The pic of the ETA. I used a gold date wheel overlay that I had handy. One day I'll figure out how to make the gen date wheel thin enough as an overlay as this would really finish off this gold franken beauty. The ETA was modified so that the quickset date and the hack function was disabled as per the gen of the time period. The gen gold hands were broached to the proper size to fit the ETA. Thanks for looking!!!
  8. Wow S! So nice, especially with the mesh bracelet! I would have never thought to use a mesh bracelet on my vintage Tudors Nice vision on this project!
  9. I LOVE this VRF's comment!!! "This is why when I buy vintage I want to see signs of vintage" I bet our community modders LOVE that comment also!
  10. Alligoat...would it be probable that they are from old Swatches or Swatches that were never commissioned? I'm quite positive certain Swatches came from chinese factories, even though they say "Swiss Made" I see that you can still get them on CousinsUK either as a loose pack item or in the packaging.
  11. I don't think the PT and the Josh 1680 are the same. The Josh 1680 crown position is low, just like their 1665, while PT's seem like it is in the proper position...more centered. I think I'll hold out for the PT version...
  12. Everyone needs a 7032/1 in their collection!!!
  13. ~$350-$425...more on the high side because you already have it serviced...
  14. According to the Valjoux technical papers the 7733 and 7734 have the same hand size.
  15. huh really? How do we get on that list please!!!!
  16. Classic Watch Parts...Michael Young....http://www.classicwatchparts.com/index.php As for 7159 hands, maybe contact Jewelry & Watch. I have had no real luck sourcing 7159 hands. Anyone else have suggestions?
  17. ...AND ordered! Thanks for the heads up MJ, Yuki said that they may also have the hands by the end of March. If they don't have them, I'll order them from CWP
  18. presume wrong...CHS...still going...about 1.5 yrs now
  19. Doesn't Phong do custom engraving of case backs now???
  20. Right now Yuki is out of stock, Terry said that they should have the dial and new hand sets in by the end of March.
  21. gpl...I used the Yuki 7159 case instead for my Tudor project... Notice the bottom pusher...it's past the 180...more in between the 180-170 tach markings...same as the pic ubi provided. Sure it's stamped 7159, but whose going to know? Its the aesthetics that concerns me... btw...I discovered this by accident. I bought the case for a 7159 project, had a V234 and found out that the pusher spacing was incorrect and the V234 needed a spacer so it fits properly. I had a 7734 handy, dropped it in and it fit perfectly! Thus my change in scope of this project. But now I gotta find 7032 dial and hands. Still waiting on Yuki
  22. Interested and waiting, for I have a 7736 handy in my tool box right now...
  23. Wow!!!That looks so great with the display back!!! Truly different, I'm green with envy...
