  1. Good for you, for having a go! Well done.
  2. Towards the end of last year I was going through that period when I wanted another rep, but wasn't sure what to buy! (You all know how it is!!) So I decided that, although I had never really been a big fan of Panerai, I would get one to see what all the fuss was about. I went for a Noob Factory 111M on rubber, based on PureTime's breakdown review. When it arrived I quite liked it and was relatively pleased with my new acquisition, but recently it's getting more and more wrist time. Way more than any of my other reps. I have bought other watches since I got the 111M, so it's not because it's my latest one. Not sure exactly what it is. Maybe the classic clean lines? Maybe the uncluttered dial? To be honest I don't know, but I find myself reaching for it more and more when I open my watchbox.
  3. Quite a few nice Breitlings available for that kind of money.
  4. Welcome to the Ancient and Illustrious Order of Worm Can Openers!
  5. I joined RWG with the intention of buying a Daytona, but went with a Skyland Avenger instead. Seven reps later and I still haven't bought myself a Rollie rep.
  6. OP only registered 4 months ago. Just wondering if it really IS one of our TD's he's been dealing with, or has he bought from a "cloned" site??
  7. Ok, the sublime to the ridiculous maybe, but I'm now on Sugarland singing "Tonight". Check out the vocals on this one!
  8. Just watched some Old Grey Whistle Test footage of Lynard Skynard from 75/76. Played the full Fido's gonads version of Freebird. Awsome. Nuff said! Right now, I've got the Stereophonics playing loud through the cans cos the mrs is sleeping!
  9. Wearing my gen Cellini today.........
  10. I'm wondering if this is OUR Joshua that we're talking about here. There are a few scam Perfect Clones sites operating on the back of Joshua's good name. Normally PP transactions with Josh are conducted a bit differently. Anyone who has done this will know what I mean!!
  11. Having owned gens before I got into reps, this is absolutely, 100% right on the button!
  12. Good stuff Archie. Very informative and useful to any newbies wondering whether to take the plunge or not.
  13. Might be worth contacting the dealer you got it from. I discovered my Ebel 1911 was missing a bracelet screw a few weeks after I got it. I spoke to the dealer and he sent me a full set of 4 screws FOC.
  14. It actually looks a lot heavier than it is. Once I had smoothed of the sharp edges on the underside of the chrono lever it actually feels quite comfortable, but you are aware of the lever being in contact with your arm when you put it on at first. Have to say that I haven't had any issues with the lever snagging cuffs, which I originally thought might be a problem. It does draw quite a few comments because it's a bit bigger, but I guess it's not the kind of watch to wear if you're bothered about people noticing it!
  15. Wasn't too keen on these when they came out, but they're starting to grow on me. That really is very nice.
  16. Never mind the 57 jewels, this is a MEN watch!
  17. We get some high winds here maybe 2 or 3 times a year and everybody complains about the awful weather. We don't know how lucky we are! Can't begin to imagine what these folks are going through.
  18. Ok, so I've been wearing my new Graham Chronofighter all weekend, as you do. So I'm in my local having a few beers when the guy who reckons he is a watch collector (but hadn't heard of Breitling) comes in. After a few minutes he spots my Graham and blurts out "Jesus Christ, what size of watch is that?" I said it's a Graham, to which he replied "I collect watches, but I've never heard of them. Is that Japanese?" I know it's bad, but I'm tired of talking to this guy, who thinks he's a watch collector and buys nearly all of his [censored] from car boot sales or peddlers when he's on holiday in Turkey, so I didn't feel inclined to get into a conversation about high-end reps. I said "No it's Swiss" and asked him if he had any nice pieces in his collection. He said, "Yeah, I've got a couple of Ingersolls and a few See-Ko's and I've got a German one that I can't remember the name of. I don't have a Rolex because I can't afford one although I know you can get the basic one for about a grand. What have you got?" I said, I've got two Rolex, two Breitling, an Ebel Discovery, a Patek Aquanaut and a Panerai, as well as my Graham. He replied, "I've never heard of any of them apart from the Rolex, but there's thousands of watches out there." We must be doing something wrong!
