  1. sounds like this man needs some river springbar lug screws i think the thing that bugs me the most about pams is the "l swiss made l" writing too close to the 6 marker....but then again, you really have to look closely to notice details like these deltatahoe
  2. fun post asad -- i really enjoyed it btw, i'd be interested in where you sourced an asian swan neck movement for $25 PM me if you'd rather not post it here... deltatahoe
  3. good warning doubleT -- seems like common sense, but a good reminder not to let the desire for a new watch cloud sound judgement. deltatahoe
  4. genuine 5513s had both dial versions ("meters first" and "feet first")..... the meters first versions (which date to the earlier models) are harder to find & as a result, generally more valuable.... deltatahoe
  5. the print on the dial (aside from the index dots, which will vary in color depending on how the tritium ages) should be white. here's a pic of a genuine for your reference... deltatahoe
  6. in terms of prices, one of our trusted collectors commented in an email that the constantly falling dollar is having a material adverse affect on their business, and we are likely to see price increases soon.... deltatahoe
  7. the dial on the one you posted is actually a 5513 dial; the 5512 has the "officially certified chronometer" text on the dial under the depth rating (see JoJo35's pic for the 5512 dial).... deltatahoe
  8. wearing my big bang today..... will probably be wearing the sinn u2 for the rest of the weekend, as i'm headed for the mountains deltatahoe
  9. which size (large, or very large?) is this one? where did you get it from? how about some pictures! deltatahoe
  10. Some really nice pics in there victoria; the pam 232 looks good on the pav 91 - it's a combo I wouldn't have thought of to be honest. However, I still believe the 232 was made for the papaya (or the other way around!). Regardless, I'm glad you like the look of the watch; wear it well. deltatahoe
  11. couldn't imagine wearing anything other than my newest addition.... deltatahoe
  12. the engraving on the rehaut = :yucky: just another reason i will stick to vintage rolex for genuines deltatahoe
  13. you know what, it didn't even cross my mind i'll try to remember next time i'm taking some pictures... deltatahoe
  14. this watch has been a long time coming. the actual deal was struck a while ago when repaustria posted his 1665 on the supporters trading forum several months ago in search of a buyer for this unique watch. so finally, after managing through busy schedules, traveling, the holiday season, price negotiations, deciding how to ship the watch, and finally a trip to ziggy, the watch is in my hands. i have to say -- it was well worth the wait a couple details about the watch: vietnam 1665 case, genuine crown & tube, superdome, acryllic tritium bezel insert & pearl, tritium hands, redial on genuine base, 1575 movement, 93150 bracelet and 580 end links. i tried my best to take some decent pictures this weekend, but as anyone who's tried to take pictures of a superdome knows, it's not easy. the crystal captures reflections off of EVERYTHING; maybe it's time for a light tent. now, for some pictures. first, some fun with superdome reflections.... next, some pictures of the case & caseback.... a quick picture of the vintage tritium pearl.... and finally, one final parting shot.... i'd like to extend a special thanks to repaustria for his patience with me throughout the process. as i mentioned before this deal took a while to navigate through; repaustria was an absolute gentleman to deal with, and took great care to ensure the watch was packaged carefully & inconspicuously. and of course, no watch project would be complete without a trip to ziggy; his masterful touch is evident in the final product. there was a small scare regarding a potentially lost pearl (ziggy knows what i'm talking about ), but in the end everything turned out perfectly. thanks for looking, deltatahoe
  15. i'd definitely be interested in an update -- it's always revealing to see what things are like in the place that is the origin of most of our watches.... have a great trip, and take a bunch of pictures deltatahoe
  16. some watches use a spacer (if the movement is smaller than the case), some use brackets to hold the movement in place.... deltatahoe
  17. sounds like the watch is lacking a movement holder/brackets (or the brackets that were holding the movement in place have come loose).... deltatahoe
  18. sounds great ajoe -- looking forward to seeing the final product btw, where is the rest of the buckle? deltatahoe
  19. the most accurate dial is on the handwind version of the pam 212; however, it doesn't have the reg t.m. engraving on the crown guard. all pam 212's (save the limited run AR coated versions andrew & trusty sold for a short period of time at the end of 2006) have mineral crystals.... hope this helps, deltatahoe
  20. @kruzer and/or dluddly, do you know if your pam 024A has a sandwich style construction or regular crystal? @chief, i'd be in for one assuming the 024A has a regular crystal... thanks, deltatahoe
  21. first off, welcome to RWG like fxrandy said, spend some time reading before making any purchases.... and consider yourself warned -- pams can be very addicting deltatahoe
  22. huh....this is really interesting freddy i'd be interested (as i'm sure most people would) to hear ziggy's thoughts on your idea.... @whoever's watch freddy worked on, it would be interesting to see how the watch fares over the longer term..... regardless, thanks for sharing freddy deltatahoe
  23. yeah....it's pretty frustrating.... one quick question -- is angus' ultimate 111h supposed to have superlume? if so, it would be bizarre for them to use c1 (white) on the hands and c3 (green) on the dial....plus, c1 (white) doesn't shine as bright as c3 (green)..... you might check real quick and see how luminous the dial & hands are compared to each other..... deltatahoe
  24. ummm....maybe it is just my computer monitor, but the lume on the hands looks white, whereas the lume on the dial looks greenish......the white lume on the hands looks completely off to me.... anyone else seeing this? deltatahoe
  25. why not go big and get one of these? sorry magagne, i couldn't resist deltatahoe
