The World, New info @ post 1, New info @ post 1

i've heard great things about iceland; i'd definitely do my best to make a trip out of this deltatahoe -
i have a really hard time selling my reps as well....it feels like giving away a child (even though i don't have any children ) so anyways, just know that you're not alone deltatahoe

now if we could only figure out a way to get the brass pins that hold the seconds & other chrono hands to look/turn silver, a nicely modded 3717 would be pretty much identical from the genuine (aside from having correctly aligned markers ).... deltatahoe

naw, spooky's picture taking abilities are way better than FLB's

I'm extraordinarily bored with PAM. Help IWC experts
deltatahoe replied to coltrim's topic in The IWC Area
imho, if you're suspicious of rep chronos (ruling out the 3717, costeau diver and aquatimer), then the iwc ingenieur is the obvious iwc of choice. get the standard version (without AR coating, as rep AR coating sucks compared to real AR), send it to k2222 or chieftang to get it AR coated, and you've got yourself a real looker. here is a quick shot on kevlar compliments of bazz (although i prefer it on a metal bracelet) deltatahoe ps, i'm curious, what does you pam collection consist of? -
yeah, i got a screaming deal -- no doubt about that.....it was without a box, but with the warranty card, which i was totally fine with. in terms of how old, the watch was about 3 months old when i got it, and in immaculate condition i believe the old adage "good things come to those who wait" is particularly true in the used watch market -- if you're willing to keep an eye out for the right piece at the right price, you're sure to find some sucker that's willing to take a big bath on a piece in great condition just to get some quick cash. a lot of the time, these are folks who buy a watch, keep it for 4-5 months, then realize they would prefer to have something else. we're lucky -- we can buy reps of those marginal, "nice to have" watches, and focus our genuine purchasing on watches that we KNOW we will love forever (or at the very least, for a long time to come). just my $0.02, deltatahoe

if you're persistent, you can pick up a very gently used sinn u2 on a rubber strap for ~$1,500 -- banging deal on an amazing watch deltatahoe
-
the breitling navitimer reps are top quality (after a real double AR coating, the sunken datewheel on the 3-6-9 configuration is the only other meaningful issue with these), but i wouldn't plan on getting a replica iwc big pilot -- there just aren't any available that come close to doing justice to the real deal.... deltatahoe
-
my favorite is the watch boys black gator (also 26mm / 22mm) deltatahoe
-
now that's some good advice deltatahoe
-
if you could afford it, the iwc big pilot would be the one genuine i'd go for -- it is the clear pilot watch of choice imho deltatahoe

Addicted? Are you talking to me?............

@seanf, couldn't agree more -- the way he described the experience in his post (especially the part re: changing all of the watch straps) left no doubt in my mind that this guy has more than a couple screws loose deltatahoe -
it's funny how things go in waves isn't it? one week none of the watches look interesting, the next week you find five that fit your fancy enjoy the new watches; wear them well deltatahoe

beautiful combos S -- some real treats in there well i know i would certainly be interested in one (or more) of these buckles -- shoot me a PM with the details if you'd consider including me (hopefully V can vouch for me )... cheers deltatahoe

@doc, that must have been something else -- i bet the look on pocket kings' face was priceless!!! deltatahoe

first off, sorry to hear about the troubles with your existing reps -- sounds like you must be tough on watches if you like your standard santos 100 and think you'd like it in an even bigger size with more accurate details, i think you'll like the santos 100 chrono. i'll warn you though, it is a big watch; in the end i found it too big for my tastes given it has the look of a dressier watch with the white dial and black gator strap. re: your other choices: gmt master ii. definitely a nice watch, although i have to admit if i were starting again, i'd probably spring for the new gmt master ii with ceramic bezel that has just been released. omega gmt. not my cup of tea, but everyone has their own tastes. cartier roadster. i have a good friend with a genuine roadster, and it is very nice looking sporty dress watch. the fun part of this hobby is the fact that we can try a bunch of different watches in a very cost-efficient manner -- variety is the spice of life. my suggestion is as follows: if you don't end up liking one of these watches that you pick up, don't be afraid to cut your losses, put it up for sale for a small discount relative to what you paid for it, and chalk it up to experience and getting to know your watch tastes. have fun with it deltatahoe
-
keep the stories coming nightstroker -- fun to read, and like chronus said, you make it sound like easy money cheers to another successful day at the casinos deltatahoe
-
good find doc was it clooney that had the private tour of the inner sanctum of omega manufacturing, or am i loosing it? it's fun to imagine what your watch collection would look like if you had the kind of money most celebs have.... deltatahoe

looking forward to this project dluddy deltatahoe

this is too funny -- i had no idea ruby has a website either don't worry, you're in good company dvn deltatahoe

too funny DBR. looks like we're all in the same boat on this one. let's just hope nanuq and eunomians aren't reading this thread btw, welcome back; you have PM deltatahoe

hard to tell from your picture UJ -- is there essentially a 'dent' or portion of the case carved out where the crown meets the case? if so, i think you may have the worst luck ever with regard to receiving reps from DSN (especially given previous experience) i can't imagine that this is what his cases are supposed to look like....the only watch i've had from DSN was a 232 (which i eventually sold); it was in fine shape when i received it. good luck getting this resolved deltatahoe
