  1. very well done review deemaster i've ALMOST gotten the navi gmt several times (including once where i almost picked up a gen dial for it), but for whatever reason just haven't been able to push myself over the edge on this one. after reading your review it might have to go back on the (long) list deltatahoe
  2. i think my favorite black strap is the prada strap by jose tan deltatahoe
  3. i'll pile on with dluddy and pugwash on this one -- at first i didn't see what people were so worked up about the pam 187....then slowly i started to get the itch.....then i saw one go up on the trading boards for a steal and well, the rest is history. i put it on a europelli shell cordovan vintage caramel strap and couldn't believe how much i liked it. deltatahoe
  4. happy holidays ziggy -- i hope you have a wonderful Christmas & new years! hopefully the tequila will help keep you warm this winter deltatahoe
  5. wow some very nice pictures there mrandazzo -- i particularly like this one below -- very industrial deltatahoe
  6. wow -- looking great congrats on the good progress! still can't get over that view  deltatahoe
  7. thanks for the response lanikai....i've been meaning to call the customs/homeland security office but have just been slammed with everything going on leading up to the holidays....hopefully i'll get a chance to call them tomorrow. any other people's experiences would be helpful too of course deltatahoe
  8. i'm buying some genuine parts for a vintage rolex from an individual in europe (shipping to the US); i was wondering what the best method of shipping would be (registered mail, EMS, etc?). is anyone familiar with the legality of importing genuine vintage rolex parts to the US (e.g. i know it is illegal to import a new rolex watch, but am not familiar with the legality of used/vintage items), as well as what types of disclosures he would need to make in terms of the contents/value of the watch? i'd like to have the packaged shipped with full insurance; any idea about what i could expect in terms of customs duties would be great too. thanks in advance for your help.... deltatahoe
  9. i would get the 112h first because i think it epitomizes the brand -- classic design with a simple dial. once you wear the 112 for a while and start itching for more, then you can go about picking out the other various types of pams to round out your collection (consider yourself warned though, you may just up with eight of them ) here's my 112h on greg stevens historical brown: deltatahoe
  10. solid advice from archibald. the first step is probably deciding what type of pam you want. there are several main categories to consider: i) base historic models such as 005, 111, 112, 127, 217, etc ii) radiomir models such as 183, 210, 232, etc iii) submersible models such as 243, 187, 092, 199, etc iv) other models with more complications such as 212, 063, etc fwiw, if i could do it all over again, i'd get the 112h as my first pam. good luck with the decision deltatahoe
  11. if you are looking for a pam to wear with a suit (which is already relatively tough to pull off given their size), i'd suggest a radiomir model -- they have a thinner profile and therefore sit nicely on the wrist & under a shirt cuff. pair the radiomir with a gator strap from the watch boys and you've got yourself a winning combo here's my 183 on black gator from the watch boys: deltatahoe
  12. @bazz, i'd consider sending it, but would of course need to get a year's worth of free reps out of the deal @hank7502, some nice pics there good to see another sinn U-series owner... deltatahoe
  13. very interesting indeed. even more so considering the who the seller is deltatahoe
  14. a movement service on an out of the box ETA movement (albeit from our rep manufacturers) is a waste imho....the other mods would likely be well worth it, but could probably be done for ~$250 in total i would guess.... if it were my money, i'd buy a new $20 insert for the SSD and spend the rest to buy a tourby pilot.... deltatahoe
  15. come on pugwash you and i both know that wouldn't happen in a million years....U2 fans aren't sharp enough to notice a nice watch deltatahoe
  16. did someone say sinn? mmm... deltatahoe
  17. @The Mentalist, not sure which watchmakers you have been talking to, but ziggy (our local expert watchmaker) has confirmed on many occasions (he chimed in again on this post a couple weeks ago) that it does not make any difference whatsoever.... deltatahoe

man that must feel great; it's fun to share such joys too. congrats ken deltatahoe
  19. hmm... first off, i'd like to hear what kind of mods you plan on doing to the SSD that would add up to $450  deltatahoe
  20. @sql_pl/TTK, please keep us updated re: the availability of these -- i'm interested in picking one up as well... deltatahoe
  21. fantastic pics hambone -- really well done i had forgotten the prices on these had skyrocketed  deltatahoe
  22. great review SWATCHman -- top quality stuff. thanks so much for taking the time to put it together deltatahoe
  23. a cheaper option than getting the conversion kit would be to buy a strap from this strap seller -- swdivad picked one up from them and indicated it was good quality (although not exactly cheap either). hope this helps, deltatahoe
  24. very nice pics my friend; congrats on your new pieces oddly enough, the nautilus just doesn't do it for me. i think i'm going to have to see one in person before i understand people's love of these the aquanaut on the other hand i think i could get used to....particularly on a nice leather or alligator strap  deltatahoe
  25. wow -- that's quite the beast. looks huge, but i think i like it congrats on the new purchase dadog deltatahoe
