  1. There is no real reason to hxxp://. Just give us the real link please. Referrers are not an issue here.
  2. Read this. The same principles and materials can be used for your stainless.
  3. While there have been many great observations above, there seems to be a prevailing theme that the amplitude does not matter. That simply is not true, and if they were properly QC'ing it they should have wound it fully. Perhaps Zig should chime in here, but it is my belief/understanding that amplitude can give you a "heads up" as to what is going on. In the OP: (assuming dial-up/down (it is safe to subtract 20 in a crown up/down position) (the mechanics of the new(ish) movment used are good))) 202 = Movement could be dirty/gumming up. 328 = Movement could be DRY causing less friction. Excessive amplitude may result in the impulse pin on the impulse roller coming completely around and hitting the back of the pallet fork. True, this whole QC luxury never existed, can be "tweaked", etc. If the watch is cosmetically good, and runs, might as well pull the trigger.
  4. The 4 mil serial number does place it as a "replacement" case according to some self-proclaimed experts on VRF. So, service case, possibly true. As F333's says it is a tough sell without papers at that price.
  5. +1. This thing has been on eBay for months.
  6. Great watch. I have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting on Bill over at MKII to get to mine. I think I have been waiting TWO years to get mine. I ordered the same configuration as yours.
  7. Your only real option that should allow for a DW swap over will be the 2846. (2842 is a non-date), and 2828=?. The 2846 is a hair thicker that a 2824, but in general 2824/2836/2846 are pretty interchangeable. IF you DW is just an overlay, which it probably is, you could un-glue it and open your options to a DG2813/Miyota 8215.
  8. No question the Seiko Spring Drive is perhaps one of the most horolgically significant movement in the last 50+ years. Technologically speaking it SMOKES Rolex. Great watch!!! Is that also also a GMT!!!
  9. Nina FTW! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Drunk and listening to Gary Jules "Mad World": Followed by Cash covering NIN
  10. My Slow Beat (Gen Unitas) will go a full 48 hours+. The high beat versions should usually make it up to 42 hours.
  11. From the GEN 7750 Manual that comes with all SINN watches. The way I do it on all my 7750's Gen's or Reps is to go PAST the time and "back it up" to the correct time, taking the slack out of the gears. Viola! (To be fair, this only works about 80% of the time, because any rotation when pushing in the crown will mess with the slack). HTH
  12. Similar thing happened to me. I later put two and two together and realized USPS and FEDEX seem to have some air freight/logistics partnership. My package somehow got routed thru and around the FedEX system before getting put back into the USPS system. A priority mail package that normally took 2 days took 2 weeks to find me.
  13. As far as street cred goes on the above listed fora-- if you live in or near a major city (NYC, Chicago,San Francisco, LA, etc.) you can possibly do an "in-person" deal at a jewelry store / safe location. You can also provide references upon request. The 3-5 day inspection is nice, but does not protect a buyer from a 'take the money and run' sale.
  14. Post #349 Item #22. Guilty. But not from old age, but just loving watches.
  15. I have had good luck moving >$5000 gens on TRF (The Rolex Form) even non-Rolex, and WUS (Watch U Seek). Trouble is-- if you are new with 0 posts and no reputation on those forums it might be a tough sell. The guys on TRF are also fans of "Bank Transfers" which is better than PayPal IMHO. eBay scares the $hit out of me "as a seller" because of the whole PayPal dispute system...
  16. +1. I did both courses as well. Worth it, especially if already have a natural mechanical aptitude. There is also a new 3rd class IIRC. The course is cheap, but if you buy the tool set and kits, it can get $$$.
  17. Bond Homage, with Bond Dr. No/pre-Walther Beretta.
  18. The shoe thing is quasi-valid in a more formal setting. I have been know to sport a pair of Checkered Vans while wearing $$$$ GEN's. I also, know plenty guys wearing Gen's with their New Balance sneakers.
  19. Yes, I brought my PADI paperwork, and the wife and I did it with with Trilogy Tours dive master. Although it looks like they replaced their "SCUBA" links on the website with "SNUBA" (crap). Hmmm, might be worth checking with them. (It was in 2009 when they had Dive Masters and SCUBA on their boats. ) http://www.sailtrilogy.com/
  20. I can see this maybe affecting someone like WatchEden, Silix, etc.
  21. I did my open water cert dives in/off of Maui. Nice 74 degree water, awesome sea turtles to see, and if you dive master is cool, some volcanic rock formation/arches that are fun to pass thru. These shots were taken in Maui.
