Well, the 1:1 super rep of the Santos 100 caught me be surprise and I don't recall there was much notice about that. It kinda popped up along side the "Santos made with genuine parts" for $1500.
Let's hope the PO doesn't cost that much.
Still waiting for the release of the PO. (I have the Sead PO and that is the 4th (5th?) generation of POs)
@soonerwatch
That is a great pic you show there. I am on the fence on this watch and it looks superb. My initial thought was getting a vintage gen, but looking at this watch really does look like a NOS watch. I have the Rollie 1016 Explorer and this is a great complement to that watch. Looks like another watch purchase is in the making!!!!
thanks for showing the awesome pics.
btw. would you ever consider putting on a leather strap on this?
Glad you like my city.
I'm in on Olympic duty here till the end of February. Some days have me up at 5am and other days have me staying till 1am. Yes, it is chaos here. But anywhere outside the Olympic venues and outside our downtown, it is normal.
yup, the gen feels different emotionally. i have three gen Omegas and a one rep Omega. It just feels different. I still don't bring in my rep 4th Gen PO into the AD, but can do so anytime with my gens.
Now, when this super rep PO comes, all that might change. maybe.........
Hey I have 3 vintage Omegas myself. A Geneve, a Seamaster and a Connie, all from the 60's. Yes the Pie Pans are THE vintage to have. I'd like to see your collection. I'm looking out for a DeVille.
Hey, not bad. I have a vintage Connie as well. Ref 166xxx. calibre 611 ca 1966
my dial is missing a painted tick around the 53 minute mark. Currently sourcing new hands for mine, as mine are a bit battered up.
good call freddy.
I've been watching Lost from the very beginning. It is getting too weird after every episode, but since I've invested 6 years in this bloody show, I might as well stick with it till the end.
by the way here is the gen Daytona
Just tried the gen one on yesterday. I swear I could have done a switcheroo on the salesguy. It was an EXACT copy as far as I can tell.
was thinking of selling mine, but will probably keep it now.
In fact the gen is quite cheap to own too. $1200 CDN less 20% right off the bat.. Could have negotiated probably another 10% if I plopped down cash on the counter.
Now, if they get the happy feet corrected, the lume markers correct and a better AR, and a longer hand set, I'd be in heaven.
We'll just have to wait and see. I hope it is just as positive as the release of the latest super rep of the Santos 100.
no engraving on the caseback outside is not necessarily a bad sign. A lot of gen omega casebacks were not signed on the outside. All you have to do is crack open the case and look at the movement. Even some gen crowns were not signed either.
I do not believe anyone was making vintage Omega replicas of these kinds. There are some rep vintage Omegas available from some of the trusted dealers, but they are really bad.
