  1. From what I have seen, the OEM are 20/16. That will not fit the rep-clasp which is 18mm. I have seen 16mm clasps on E-Bay, but as always you will have to be careful as to the provenance. Expect it to cost more than the watch. I would recommend gen - but not OEM - alligator. It will look great with the rep clasp. Just make sure that the tip is no too thick as the clasp otherwise will stick out. For dealers, look at this thread as it discusses a number of useful strap dealers: http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4558 Alternatively I have a few for sale here: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/20mm-straps-63937.html
  2. Look here: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/any-interest-in-ared-cyclopsesi-64501.html
  3. I would not be concerned about wearing one outside the AD. How many people would 1) Know about this? and 2) Microanalyse your watch to find this difference and 3) Draw the conclusion that your watch is fake? Most likely answer: Noone. Much more likely that they will use the FxrAndy method and look at you first, then the watch and then draw a conclusion. And even more likely - in fact by far the most likely - they would not look, care or know of Audemars Piguet. With this one the quality is A-OK.
  4. I am pretty astonished to hear these stories. I have close to 50 watches now from a range of dealers and private sales. And from the dealers I have had very few issues. Watches have broken down after a bit of time. Not many and not often. I have also had watches returned from the watch maker with issues, but again not many and not serious. I do however have a regular parcel going to Domi. Mostly for little things like water proofing or mods like AR and re-lume. But I have not yet needed to return to China. And thanks goodness for that. It is expensive, time-consuming and risky. The best advice here is to get a good dealer. Mary has served me well and amazingly even picked up issues that I did not notice from her pictures Second is to find a local (at least same customs area) watch smith. With that you should be OK and set to go. Don't give up just yet.
  5. For the price of a new chrono Junghans Max Brill you can get a Concepta IWC Portuguese rep. I think the Portuguese is a homage to the Junghans and probably much better known today because of the presitge of teh IWC brand. However you will be better off financially finding a second hand Junghans. That is a gen and will probably keep its value pretty well. It can be sold in the open market and you can get it fixed anywhere without problems.
  6. At least you have tried it. Would be useful if you provided more detail, also to make it known to the trusted dealer that he has been found out. There seems to be a broad agreement here that they all cheat when it comes to servicing, but surely that is not the case. Also surely there must be trained guys who can do it well and at a very competitive price. The trick is to find the one. And to risk trying the one. And then to have the watch opened and checked to see if the work is done well. I guess until someone has really done all that we will have to live with speculation.
  7. And I like the visible movement in the tourbillon. Great pics.
  8. It doesn't. It says Regulateur à Tourbillon. Meaning regulated by a Tourbi. This is quite correct and also used on the Gen. All in all this version is one of the best tourbi's out there. It really looks convincing.
  9. I am on the fence about the RG version of this one. Looks great but the rep back says Stainless Steel. Not sure if I can make her wear that.
  10. This one is a frustrating one. The dial looks pretty close, at least from photos. However when you turn it over it is so full of Chinese mistakes that it is almost funny. The movement is suposedly Made in Switzerland. It is suddenly an International Watch Company. And Dreiunddreissig is misspelt. It is frustrating because the movement otherwise looks pretty and the watch is relatively inexpensive. I just wish that the rep-factories would let someone proof read a prototype before they start production.....!!!! Trusty has another version which I might prefer: http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18&products_id=1719 This one seems to have deeper engravings on the case back and you can remove the stickers on the movement if you don't like them. - But the movement is not anywhere near as pretty as the one you suggest. Final thought: If you do go with the one you mention, perhaps check with Trevor first. His price is much lower.
  11. Good point. A good engraving can significantly improve the appearance of a watch.
  12. There is a distinct trend towards smaller/thinner watches in the top end of the market. Now we shall see if China will come up with an ultra thin and affordable movement. I would love a $100 version of these wathes
  13. One looks just like the Glashutte Senator. Is the Gen Glashutte a copy of something else? Or did they make fakes with western names on them? After all Glashutte was East-German.
  14. It's known to have issues and mine has a tendency to jump open as well. Also make sure that the screws are tight. Mine opened and the whole clasp came apart shortly after I received it. Luckily I could pick up all tghe bits, but it could have happened anywhere and the clasp could have been a write-off. If you get a solution from dealer or anyone, please post it here.
  15. So far I have not managed to get myself to sell any of mine...
  16. Perhaps I am a bit sceptic these days, but I think this is someone who accidently put in the replica bit in the description. The bottom bit seems to indicate it is the real thing.... LOL
  17. Just avoid the chrono. Other Portuguese versions seem to be OK.
  18. I reported what I saw on the site. Perhaps they were in the process of removing when I reported them?? Could have saved my time in that case......
  19. LOL LOL LOL China .... here I come!!!
  20. Success!! It's gone. - Well done Katolein.
  21. Have reported all 4. It will be interesting if EBay takes any notice. In other countries they seem not to do so.
  22. What I found interesting was that the service bill came to over $1,500. That makes Spinmaster well worth a visit!!
  23. There does seem to be a virus issue with the site. Certainly my computer flags up warnings when I try to access it. This has been the case for some time.
  24. Hi guys, No one has confirmed that they would show up, so just to be clear it is NOT happening. See you some other time ....
