REP watch forums have proved to be the best avenue for an education on all watches. After collecting reps for only 5 years, I have learned way more than if I had spent my time on Timezone. As has been said here before....I love watches. As a result, I love researching all kinds and types of the genre. I have settled for the most part on classic divers. Not the Daytona. Used to be black dials and ss bracelets. Now diver cases and dials and rubber straps have become the desire. That is the best deal on reps. Try it for a few hundred bucks, and figure out if you REALLY like it.

Had to read this thread tonite. Sitting here right now wearing my SOH on the OR strap. Every damn time I look at this watch, I think...BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The DSN FF95 is the one I crave...but my wrist is only 6.5 to 6.75, and so I am waiting for the current BNFF, instead of the vintage. But why not have both? Beautiful watch Dudley.

Harley just showed a beautiful shot of his 2254. a watch that for the most part is my daily beater... which is currently at the doctor. Soooo, I have switched over to another Diver fave...The Black Monster. A bit of a custom rubber 'Oyster' style bracelet, and it is THE tool watch. Best lume in the world. There certainly are a lot of nice watches in this weeks pix. Nice, very nice.

If you are still interested in 'Slim' then quartz is still the way to go. Many very nice Sieko dress models. 36mm cases 7mm to 9mm thick. Look at a few of the sport titanium cases and bracelets. Lightweight, and slim, but a bit sportier than dress watches. A bit more upscale then I'd recommend RADO, for bulletproof ceramic cases, and thin quartz movements.

Clean. A classic watch. Wear it well.

GRAIL...GRAIL....GRAIL... What a beautiful watch. Without a doubt this classic is one of the most well balanced/well made/ handsome sport chrono's on the planet. You'd think somebody could make a goood rep of this classic piece. Wear it Very well.

Just pretend that Ubi's photos of his EL version are the same as mine, and my post will be just as cool. EL's 3717 is da kine.

For me it is just that I am just a bit slower than others. I takes me awhile to figure out exactly what I like/want. Some reps made me want to buy that particular gen...... others didn't. Currently I am looking for a used 2254.50 gen. Only took me 5 years of wearing different divers, different straps/bracelets/clasps/buckles....to finally figure that part out. Even if I had a bunch of dough, I am quite sure I never would have bought x25... 5,000.00 watches, only to find out eventually that a 2000.00 Omega would end up being the fave...of the faves. (for now at least) There is no figurin.

Yada, yada, yada. My SMP 2254.50 on gen rubber and deployment. Perhaps the finest 'Tool' watch in the world. This classic will probably stay on this wrist for the summer.

Jeez, we don't do too bad for a bunch of guys who buy fake watches.

MY REP 5167 is supposedly 40mm like the gen, but by my ruler it is more like 42mm. Perhaps the rep IS larger than the gen. Either way it is larger than the 5165 at 36 or 38. Perhaps the watch just looks larger...But it wears Much larger as well. I compare the 40mm case to most SMP, or 3717', or the Sub, for that matter.

Right, I personally PREFER thinner cases. And yes the gen vintage FF are thick divers. Doesn't make them unwearable, obviously, just not as comfortable for folks with smaller wrists. IF I wore the watch only to dive, it would be a different story...but for daily wrist wear these models are a bit too thick for me. Main reason I quit buying most 7750's as well. All that being said, the vintage FF reps are beautiful watches, both dial and bezel are really well crafted. Like I said, 'Buy one if you like them.' Frankly I am looking forward to the rep version of the NEW FF, 'The Fifty Anniversary' model recently released. Talk about a nice design. And in a much thinner case than the original line of FF.
