  1. Panerai, Panerai, Panerai. I sure love Panerai!
  2. Not 'ultra-franken'. Not 'hyper-franken'. Just pure Frankensteins. "And that has made all the difference."
  3. Spartacus is trashy good fun, and it has THE BEST FINAL EPISODE OF ANY SEASON OF ANY SERIES--EVER! (That ought to keep 'em watching 'til the end...)

Jeez, I just noticed this comment now... That 2nd pic IS bloody gen, and was posted as a comparative! Sorry for any mistaken impressions. Here's where my watch is really at right now:

Thanks, guys! Like mastrmind, I don't think I consider luming to be all that fun, but it is a whole lot more satisfying to say, "I did that!" instead of, "I spent $100 to have someone else do that!" Then again, you could just as easily trash a dial in the process--and believe me, it is VERY easy to mess up! TeeJay, I don't know what nefarious plans you have for those dimensions, but maybe this will help you. The gridlines are 5mm apart:

Thanks, coolfire! That was my first-ever lume job, using an alvinado-sourced kit. I wouldn't attempt a dial that required a steady hand, like a 1016 Explorer's or a Sinn U2's, but the Monte Carlo dial is perfect for beginners. If I could do it again, though, I would try to make the lume a bit darker, and a bit dirtier-looking.

I relumed the dial myself, and the results were uneven, messy, inaccurate... and not too bad compared to many gen examples!
  8. Superb 6239, donerix! The black standard dial would look terrific on one of your brown straps. It's a good day for 1016s:
  9. R: I'm curious... How are you wearing this? Did you get the 78360 like you planned? And to echo J's comment above, I'm honored to have contributed to this perfect build, and enjoyed our discussions immensely. I think it's no longer possible, but I would've loved a group shot with your 5500 and 14270 Explorers!
  10. I'm like a middle-aged woman addicted to plastic surgery. All I can see are flaws!
  11. Sheesh, that's a lot of value added! I'm tempted to buy your 7032 just to get my hands on that caseback, and your masterfully trimmed bezel...
  12. Spectacular build, Ubi! The hands match the dial perfectly, and I love the sight of a fresh crown. "Guess what? I got a fever, and the only prescription... is more Explorer!"
  13. I can barely wrap my head around it. Amazing piece!
  14. That looks great! I've been trying to figure out how to spruce up the ropey-looking caseback on mine. Any tips?
  15. The Moonphase predates the 7750 by about 20-30 years.
  16. My only Grail is a CK2915 Speedmaster:
  17. Hope you didn't pay big money for it, but that could be good news for some people. Now that 7734 donors are selling for at least $300, Poljot 3313s should be cheaper, and plentiful. Interesting how your dial looks identical to the one sold on Yukiwatch, down to the kink on the edges of the black subdial surrounds. EDIT: Just read nomad's post above. I think we have a winner.
  18. Nice! Low budget rep or not, it made me take a second look!
  19. Ah red... Your Blue Flake gets the obligatory "SELL IT TO MEEEE!!!!" but you'd be nuts to ever let it go. flex: Next time I'm in town, I'm bringing my loupe! My pair of 1016s:
  20. Offshore, I see you're reading this right now! I join in with the others: OFFSHORE IS A FINE GENTLEMAN!!! Why is Offshore a fine gentleman? Great parts/tools for low prices, and he helped me out in a very big way when I visited Guangzhou last year. I recommend that everyone read Offshore's travel diaries from his first time to GZ. They are some of the best writing I've ever read on the rep forums.
  21. Really nice lume job on the dial and hands, seafoam, and a stunning Sub all around. flex: Did Zig add the texturing to the 6 and 7 markers of your dial?
  22. Thanks, Noel! I can only speak for mine, but I'm pretty sure all of the Tudor 7032s on this page come from DW (of vintage Daytona fame), or through Spinmaster.
