  1. Looking good K! My 7734 is now fixed up and working thanks to the master in the great white north Dial is also re-lumed! Can't wait to get it back so I can put it all together Still wearing my PAM. Haven't stopped wearing it for a while now
  2. Can anyone tell me if U-Boat made a quartz watch? I have a co-worker that just got one and I have a feeling it's a fake. He paid A LOT of money for it
  3. I think I'm gonna be sick That's nasty!
  4. Don't think you would lose out on a bargain like that to be honest! That is a pretty decent price and not a bad investment. It will most likely only go up in price in the next 5 years anyways. I say go for it!
  5. It is a nice hammock, but that is a gorgeous Heuer!!! Oh well, on to the Tuesday wristie I guess
  6. Oh nice! Are we going to do a weekly wrist check again? I miss these! For Monday: Still wearing the 112m after relaxing on the hammock this weekend
  7. Thanks for the tips BM! So, based on your experience, what is a good list to start with when getting some oils? I just ordered an oiler kit from Offshore. I know that D5 seems to be a pretty major one, and Moebius 941/9415 also seem to be pretty critical. Any thoughts on a good "shopping list"? EDIT: Nevermind You already mentioned that in an earlier PM So for the others who might be interested, here is a small list of "essential oils" Moebius D5 Moebius 8010 (although I have seen 9010 as well) Moebius 941 Main Spring Barrel Oil & Grease (for automatic movements as it is for clutching) Moebius 9501 or Jismaa 124 Grease for Cannon Pinion Clutching
  8. Found this post while googling Jismaa 125 (which is recommended by ETA for their 7750). Everywhere I've looked mentions Jismaa 124, but not 125. Is there much of a difference? Only thing I found was that the 125 is a heavier grease than the 124. Any thoughts? (yes.... I am in the market for some oils so I can start practicing servicing some movements ) Also read that Moebius 9501 is used in place of Jismaa 124 - but can it be used in place of 125?
  9. Some nice PAM's today. Also wearing my one and only PAM
  10. The linear chrono is kind of interesting. Never heard of them before, but they sure are unique
  11. No thank you! That is just insane! I would lose my mind doing something like that!!!
  12. That was pure genius! Great find! Definitely brought a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing that!
  13. You got your movement refund. Leave it at that and quit now. Pursuing this any further is clearly not going to turn out very well for you.
  14. That was a good read! It's sad to think that these people are actually voted into their positions.
  15. Can't wait to get mine back! I miss it greatly
  16. Now you are talking! Way to go!! Nice work J!
  17. A little UPO (the largest watch I own) for wednesday
  18. Curious about that as well actually. The 112m I just got has one, and the OP printing is silk screened on and already lost some paint on the "I" and "N". Also, power reserve seems to be lacking on this one as well. Certainly doesn't last nearly as long as my swiss one. I might switch them around and maybe use the bridges on the swiss movement (even though the silk screen is wearing off, it still looks better than the engraving on my asian bridges on the ETA movement).
  19. Looking forward to some pics too! That is a great looking watch!
  20. Well it is pretty cool looking! What is the inner bezel markings used for? Never seen that before. You could almost say it goes to "eleven"
  21. Congrats on your 700th post Woody! And thanks for the comments So it's been over week since I got the 112 and it's still a looker to me. Power reserve seems a little low though. I haven't gotten even close to a full day out of it. My swiss 6497 used to last quite a bit longer. I always wind 40 turns from empty. Probably needs a cleaning and lube (as usual)
  22. A 7734 donor watch perhaps?? Either way, it's pretty cool looking! Nice find!
  23. Well kudos to you good sir (and you Andy) for pointing that out. I was really pulling my hair out on that one! @Jkay & Krpster - thanks for the tips on the ultrasonic cleaners. I'll check them out
  24. Thanks!!! That blasted spring! Here's where I went wrong. Reset the spring and all is good again All I need to do now is get some oils and oilers. That movement is diiirrrttyyy!!!! I think I may need to invest in an ultrasonic bath one of these days as well.
