I thought long and hard about the punch set and what I might have around the house to replicate it. I remembered my wife's sewing machine and looked in her sewing supplies. I found a *blunt* heavy gauge sewing needle which was only slightly more thin than the pins in the bracelet and used the handle of a #0 screwdriver as the "hammer" to drive the pins and viola! I removed 4 links easily.

I doubt there is anything a qualified jeweler could do to harm a solid stainless steel case and bracelet! It'll all buff and polish nicely.

I have a rubber strap on my B&R so I'd really like to keep the link bracelet on this POrikaa .. thanks for the link to the miniature punch set.

Even SL needs to be activated by photons, and even then the glow will only last for a short period of time anyway. Even the standard "rep lume" on my DSSDv5 glows ***all night*** and can be read easily in a dark room after 6 hours. I leave it under the desk lamp for 15 minutes so it's charged up and then it's good all night. No lie. I woke up at 4am once and read it plainly in the dark.

They load up super-quick here as well.

Im trying to re-size my POrikaa. I'm using the proper tool, and can extract the pins 1/4 of their length ... but try as I might, with pliers .. I cant get them out the rest of the way. How should I remove these troublesome pins?? thanks

Exactly! I came to this forum absolutely NOT wanting a Rolex replica .. I started with Bell & Ross and other off brands. But seeing the DSSDv5 photos in Gioarmani's famous review ... completely sold me and I had to have one. I'd never even cared for Rolex before!! Also, seeing these macro images, I appreciate how CLOSE the v5 really is. The only differences I can see now are the Pearl, the lume brightness .. and the bezel color on the Gen is just a BIT darker grey.

You did get yours before Chris had that bad issue with his QC people screwing him over. My DSSD took a month, and now my Senator Sixties took a month; the signature card was in my door when I got home from work. I'll get it from the Post Office in the morning. I don't mind the wait; just know that it's there. DSSDv5 is one of the few elite "Super Reps" out there .. like the yellow face Breitling and others. Should he get it as his FIRST rep? It's a lot to spend on your first but NO he will certainly not be disappointed.

That would depend on how you use this tool. If you -1 on every post from a particular person regardless of it's content .. "griefing" them .. then that's a problem. If someone's score grows naturally as a true reflection of their own attitude and posting habit then it's perfect, isn't it?

You are perfectly correct. The Submariner's bracelet is like this .. not luxury .. a tool. If you lubricate it with a dry bicycle chain lubricant it will improve the feel a LOT!
