  1. This watch only causes me pain if I do not strap it down tightly. It bangs on my wrist bone if it is loose. If I use the micro-adjuster to make it snug then it is comfortable to wear for at least 6 hours of rough wear. Do not make the bracelet too snug, tho, as both the Gen and the Rep share a weak point in the clasp which will break if you wear the watch too tightly then flex your wrist.
  2. Daily Beater, eh .... WOW ... thats a tough one. It can't be a fussy, fragile watch. Sporty, timeless, independent GMT hand .. tough enough to be a daily beater
  3. Looks great! The tan stains on the metal are normal factory oil .. when you clean your watch for the first time, it will look like new.
  4. The newsletter said that "arrangements have been made" with another 2nd party shipper/forwarder in the EU, and Trusty will stand behind/guarantee shipments.
  5. He listed the new model, but didn't add it to the NEW section. Here it is ------> http://www.ttw168.co...roducts_id=9799 There are two or more versions currently in production. the new Superlume dial is on the watch with no date window frame. The other watch available has a heavy date window frame. Neither watch is "just right" with the date window.
  6. What's your price range? Be honest with yourself about how much you are willing to spend on a replica watch. When we know that, we can help you more easily. And yes ... the Planet Ocean "super replica" in 45mm and 42mm sizes are great choices.
  7. As much as I love Top Gear, Jeremy is the same bleeding asshole who has everyone saying that "All Audi drivers are cunts" .. so I have to say that his anti-American bravado is in the same vein. That's not to say that many American cars aren't complete shit. They certainly are. Your friend, however, is giving way too much credence to Jeremy's humorous opinions. And that's what they are .. humorous entertainment. Not the true opinion of a mature adult.
  8. All he did was announce it .. I didn't see any hard proof of it at all. I'm hoping for an improved case back and a more accurate date window
  9. The new improved VCO super lume was announced in this week's Trusty newsletter. I dont have links of pics.
  10. When they started pulling the daughter's relationships into the story of the show, that's just as bad as pimping her out. And they know that.
  11. After watching Sons of Guns and American Guns, I have no sympathy for the families in this case. They are using their daughters as eye candy for their tv show. That causes problems.
  12. Welcome back, and looking good! Congrats on all your hard work paying off.
  13. The pinion is often clipped off with diagonal cutters leaving the sharp rough end to grind at the jewel and plate, and when or if it eventually breaks loose it will release the power of the main spring all in one moment, utterly destroying the hands, dial, and movement.
  14. It depends on how the factory worker disabled the seconds hand pinion. If it is still in the watch, clipped off but running then it is potentially a problem. If it was removed completely then no problem.
  15. Trevor is a small one man shop. He doesn't have a web store, but his prices are mostly lower than the big boys. He has a photo gallery and a dealers area here on the forum. Trevor Time
  16. He's the only actual watch maker (i.e. he can fabricate gears and other parts from blank metal stock) I know of on the forum. Luckily his other hobby is Art (painting/drawing), so he's amazing with lume as well.
  17. If Chieftang no longer runs his AR service, then you can see Vaccum for that kind of thing in the USA
  18. Omega is happy to make money in the secondary market and sells parts freely, unlike Rolex, who are afraid to.
  19. I think Highoey said he's gone thru the middle of September in this very thread. There's no one reading all this.
  20. TD is Trusted Dealer ... TC is the name of a man on the forums who has one of the best available (modern) Submariners right now. You can see BK's TW Best submariner or the TC Sub .... these are not cheap but they are two of the best available. I don't follow modern Submariner makers closely so availability may not be there.
  21. Vintage dive watches. exposed to sun, salt water, and depth have faded bezel paint to varying degrees. If you are trying to reproduce the look of a 50 year old Submariner 1680, which was not a "safe queen" over it's life, then you want to add a bit of artificial aging. Look at my 1680 just below these words. A little bit of beige coloring on the dial, hands and pearl, and medium fading on the bezel insert.
  22. Joshua has an extensive pen inventory on his web site, with lots of beautiful pics.
