Sure, I just took some for you. And yes, even tho it's a myth that gen Rolex crown are always UP, Highoey installed the tube so this would happen.

Where to find the pin that connects bracelet to watch
Jkay replied to noobinstein's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Thank you for commenting, O/S ... let me just go get my Aquaracer 500M (same as his but non-chrono) and look .... time passes OK, it's definately a shouldered spring bar in this one. -
I bet the modder radiused the lug holes thinking this was proper.

If its a 1977 great white, this transitional year allows pre-GW case backs to be correct, since as everyone knows, Rolex mixes up parts between new and old models during those years.

Where to find the pin that connects bracelet to watch

I have the non-chronograph model of this watch, so I do not have one here to measure. I will research and come back later. Google tells me it's a 20mm strap between the lugs -
Can you imagine the line-item in an annual fiscal budget for airport or State-operated security services: ITEM 37N: BIG-ASS LOCKER OF GENUINE LUXURY WATCHES - 956,499 EUROS (one needed per major airport) To be used for: required to occasionally stop a Chinese watch from entering the Country Why don't I see this as realistic? They probably gave the fellow in your story a stern look because they were wishing him a happy birthday. This is Germany, after all.

Vac did this for me, and passed my 500M @ 7ATM after working the seals.

This is called the "spring bar" and they are sold in many places. All you need is the proper length spring bar. this watch, yes? -

The PureTime 1680 vintage Submariner comes on a good quality bracelet. It is a little sharp and needs the normal amount of smoothing. This is what I used. I believe they will sell them separately. The end links need to be expanded slightly to allow 2mm spring bars. This was not difficult for me, and I am not talented. http://puretime.co/product/vintage-white-submariner-1680

Congratulations to your buyer in CN, Ken!! I know you two have a long time working relationship.

What the other guy said. These movements are $20 new. Use the broken movement to practice your repair skills.

You are absolutely right! That is why the community maintains a list of trusted watch technicians / watch makers. If you ask on the forum, maybe a member local to you already knows of a shop close-by that will help or you can always mail your watch to a trusted forum watchsmith.

cough 100% cough From time to time a newer dealer will accidentally charge fair prices and it becomes obvious how much we're paying to the established dealers. Does no one remember the two years TimesShop sold Noobfactory watches for half the Cartel prices. Noob Sub for $40, anyone?

It's just a matter of time before it's sent back out for a gen HeV and crystal ... will the madness never cease.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I really am loving this watch.

If you spend a lot of money on a replica watch and want to wear it in the water, spend just a few more dollars to have it pressure checked. Why destroy a $400 watch over a $40 test? I sent my Tag 500M to Vaccum, and after he had verified all the gaskets it passed at 7ATM depth.

So here it is, everyone ... I'm proud to present this build. The parts were sourced and primarily assembled by highoeyazmuhudee then the watch went off to The Zigmeister for a full service/regulation, re-lume, full re-polish and re-brush and waterproofing. As a little background, I was inspired by member Ronin's rail dial 1665 Great White. It was a forum icon. He had sold it, and it was converted by it's new owner to a more vintage coffee colored dial. This event spurred me on to try and re-create Ronin's original watch in it's original white coloration. I suppose it's mad to spend .. uh .. a lot of money for no other reason but principle, but .. ok I have no excuse It is an MBW/MBK 1665 case set (re-shaped/drilled by highoey) with: - Clark hands - Yuki pearl - Yuki tube - Gen insert (love the very mild weathering!!) - Gen crown - generic 2mm spring bars - rare "FxrAndy" brushed silver datewheel w/ flat top 3 and open 6/9 - vintage ETA 2846 (low beat) - inGod 1665 White dial - PureTime vintage bracelet normally shipped on their "Best" Rolex 1680 Sub w/ those square "punch marks" to retain the dive clasp - Clark SuperDome crystal I'd like to thank highhoey for getting this project off the ground, and Zig for making it truly exceptional.
