  1. Does it matter if it is the High Beat 28,800 A7750?
  2. Howdy - Got a question for the movement people out there. I've been working on my 3717 and have a question. From what I understand the hands from my 3717 (A7750 movement) won't fit ETA/Valjoux Swiss 7750. Then I stumbled across this website that sells A7750 movements (http://www.wltnp.com/Asian%20movement.htm) and according to their specs, the A7750 movement would accepts ETA hands. Can somebody offer a definitive answer to what are the hand sizes for an A7750 and what are the hands sizes for a Swiss 7750? Thanks! DB2
  3. I like the dial - Circle T and All - All blue lume would be cool to and double AR...
  4. How about we start a new thread each day - kinda like the wrist check - new pictures each day - new thread each day...???
  5. Glad to hear you're continuing to mend from the h1n1...I kinda disappeared for a while and was wondering why you'd kinda disappeared too...now I know. Hope to read some enlightening posts from you in the near future!
  6. Congrats on the acquisition! I am jealous! I should have made the wife deal with the larger body of the D90 vs the D60, but hindsight is 20/20. Now I have to wait until we have a need to upgrade. Maybe I should become a wedding photographer just to buy cool equipment!
  7. Dude, that is bad. And by bad I mean bad...not good
  8. Cool Red! Looks like a fun stop! and +1 on the wide angle lens. I really want a good one!
  9. Wow, you have Rolex movements in your parts bin - I have crappy reps - not the good reps that can be found through this site - but crappy - from the sell one watch and go out of business sites...
  10. Welcome back Red! I've been away for a while too and I missed this place! The VNP is always kinda sporadic for me...most of the time it works great - but occasionally I run into the same problem. I thought you had a D40...did you recently upgrade? I am jealous! I was at a wedding over the weekend oggling the camera guys D3S - AMAZING! He was taking night shots with a 50mm F/1.4 @ ISO 6400 and they looked as clear and my D60 during the day @ ISO 400...really cool!
  11. That does suck....all the anticipation.....and........kuput! Best of luck with the exchange!
  12. Very Cool JMB. How many people out there can say they machined their own watch case? 1, and that's it! CONGRATS and great write-ups! Staying tuned for the next JMB Case!
  13. This is a fun Topic...I've noticed all the same as well. But I've never noticed Bobby Flay wearing anything other then what looks like a Rolex Datejust - I'll have to pay better attention
  14. I've had trouble with FedEx in the past as well. I've had shipment arrive sooner than expected to my local FedEx hub, and have them delayed to match the guaranteed arrival time. For example, I purchased something online, paid for 3 day shipping. It arrived (from LA to San Diego) to my FedEx Hub overnight, and FedEx held it at their facility for an extra 2 days so it would be delivered on the 3rd day....Jeesh!
  15. Nice setup. I have a D60 with the same lens. I'll need to take some pics soon!
  16. Beautiful watch and beautiful pictures! What kind of camera did you use?
  17. I really like this one. I'd add it to the collection - no question!
  18. This is really cool.....unbelievable craftsmanship. I can't wait to see the end. Db2
  19. I like the Ankle idea. I can just picture TSA's reaction. It wouldn't work for me though, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) my ankles are nowhere near the size of my wrists
  20. Wowie! This is a skill that I wish I had. Maybe I should go buy a lathe and teach myself
  21. Hey Guys - Thought I'd off my $.02. I am the proud new owner of Ubi's PO. I had built the same exact watch earlier (last year) and ended up selling it. Horrible mistake. So, I bought Ubi's and started where I left off. If you want to defer the costs Ubi's suggestion is very valid. I purchased the Bezel first. Enjoyed it for a while, then bought the Dial Hands and Date Wheel. Enjoyed them for a while, then I changed the Crown and Tube (aesthetically not very important as it is mostly unnoticeable, but different never-the-less), and then traded out the bracelet for a Gen unit. Then I made the mistake of selling it. I then bought Ubi's and the only mod I had to do to his was change out the Crown and Tube. Also, luckily, prior to the purchase of Ubi's watch, I reserved a spot in Chiefs current AR run for another watch, but upon this purchase I decided to send the crystal out for the AR treatment. Now I am just patiently waiting to get the crystal back. It always takes too long, of course, in my opinion 1 days is too long...I am kinda impatient when waiting for things... I'll post some pics when it get's back together... DB2
  22. Congrats! Glad your Skyland has a good vacation home!
  23. So, who makes the best subs I think we may have an answer!
  24. I would issue the warning to anybody buy a 42mm PO (without the serial numbers, of course)...it's too easy to make an indistinguishable clone of that particular watch... But, you're right, this particular watch appears to be legit due to the presence of the serial number....
  25. That'll be cool chief! I've always thought UBI's Germany wheel made his unique!
