  1. Yeah, a tutone chronomat would be the grail ! Though gen aren't too expensive.. about $1500....
  2. Too large for me... like a pair of 55" Z cup breasts.. I take comfort however that the date-wheel is still too low...
  3. Don't call him out,.. send over a free doughnut, or help him out of a bind... Rep Owners Unite !
  4. I remember being 18... wishing for a stronger pimple cream,..loving the Strip Clubs,.. and Free from boot camp Those were the days Congrats Man and Many Many More ...
  5. Hi... great you found The Zigmeister.. though he is away till Sept.... Bezels though are an easy fix.. as for the chrono hands... all mine have lined up perfectly.. but I read a post from Takashi that may help you.. see if you can pm him.
  6. Sure, I would go for it,... that Suv crystal press is amazing !
  7. Thanks... Me Too... Now I feel better !
  8. Oh No... Not Again ! I was sooo satisfied with my 7753 196.. till now Will this dizzy merry go round ride ever stop ?
  9. Sounds like some tug-of-war going on there.... The businessman always loses in these scenarios...better to let go, gently so's not the let the customer fall...that way he may come back... I don't know about anyone else, but these posts are really making me glad that I am learning to work on my own watches..
  10. Yep.. I noticed that,.. and was thinking about swapping out the bezel on an orange po with black.... I like the orange numbers,.. but not the orange bezel...now we have a choice.. though we don't have a chrono yet..
  11. Interesting,.. Hmmm Japan,..Limited space, individuality, pick-ups of Japanese dolls on subways.. but first dibs on fresh, fish, replica watches and electronics... I think I will have to go back there... Hey Neil don't forget my Jlc... That gorgeous photo burned a image in my cornea so don't blame me, if I lose perspective in a few...
  12. Thanks.. I have never ventured the off the rwg path into WatchHonpo, but now that they are coming to us ...I am willing to try something new ! Does anyone know if their movements are Japanese or are they just first into uncharted waters ?
  13. ETA World Goods.. and WatchHonpo (KEN) ? Who are they and what can we expect ?
  14. So how do you explain the 7750s received that are still working fine ?
  15. As to why some dealers never see what they are mailing... Since you don't have to live where the factory is, to be in business with them.. it would add shipping fees, customs risks and time to the process. We do have some dealers however that break the mold... I have seen some pretty amazing things...
  16. Regarding the 'dirty' un-lubricated movements that some have obtained... Either dirt & dry is not always terminal.. or a certain factory got lazy or tried to build a 7750 without the proper facilities or workers. I think it's the latter... a bad batch went out.... and the Asian 7750 has been marked with a red lined circle ever since.. Problem is we have not pinpointed the dealers which were, and still may be carrying that crusty line.... maybe they are all gone, but who knows ? It really sucks.. making the only safe way to buy one, is have the dealer open & check before mailing, or buy in the used market from a known member. Either that or limit yourself to the new release, though that too seems to have it's imperfections... as most reps do... Why is it,.. we still love them with their little dimples and moles ?
  17. Paul's prices are tempting,.... But Silix is taking Paypal again... and promises to come in with a sale of his own in a few days.. so I am taking the wait & see approach..
  18. I have never had any major problems with Asian 7750's... and I use the chronos a-plenty. As for the old rwg poll, there had to be several factors that lead to that percentage.. First, I agree, that people are more likely to post in a poll when they encounter a problem. 2nd,.. some people do not know, how to handle chronos.. Asian or not...they just don't understand that the chronograph still represents the most difficult complication to build and is a delicate mechanism that certain factors affect. Regarding The Zigmeister,.. I believe that human nature tends to follow the path of least resistance.. which means that many of those watches sent to The Zigmeister were probably already demonstrating problems before he ever touched them... and many people won't mention problems thinking that they will be charged additional money, hoping that the servicing will correct them. I know this from my past experience in reparing safes.. Don't also forget that The Zigmeister owns an old Asian 7750 that he uses with his work several times a week,.. and his watch was running, last time we checked... He also has stated that he thinks the Asian 7750 is a strong horse of a movement. However that being said... I am going for the newer Asian 7750 whenever I can find it.. just to have an upgraded model engine...... but if I get the itch for a new release that I have been waiting for, which contains the older movement... I am not afraid to own a few more.. they have been very good to me... Plus thanks to the fantastic tutorials we have available to us here, I am beginning to learn to do my own repairs and servicing, as I always want to be self sufficient. Lastly, if you want, you can purchase any watch you want, plus extra movements for backups, for less the cost of one ETA 7750,.. which we all know are not immune to problems either. The Asian 7750 represents a true value for us chronograph lovers.... IMO
  19. Brother....from another mother ! Glad to know you Bill ! .. Hey,.. consider this.. from a salesman... I sell for my bread... Unless you can tell me that you purchased your gen for a discount,.. down to wholesale... or better yet to manufacturer cost..then you got ripped...sold,.. like a sheep to slaughter.. you paid for an illusion.. the smell, the sizzle.. Until that time.. I see well chosen reps as turning the tables...
  20. I do wear my reps, sleeves rolled up or short...depending upon the rep of course... Again, I feel it depends upon your collection.. which is dependent upon your learning and patience before buying, and determination upon receipt. Add that to the total package of where you are in life, or the deep inside knowledge that perception is bought or sold totally upon how you present it.... I have seen some men climb out of a old automobile with style, speaking with their attitude, that this auto has sentimental value, proven longetvity or is an project in progress... their impression is deeper that one that is presenting only money,.. which as we all know can drop from the sky in the form on inheritance, or luck. I also know from my private studies of men wearing watches on one of the most pompous boulevards in the world ,.. that watches in motion, accompanied by the full package of clothing and matching personality is a part of perfect picture that only a shallow person will try to shatter... and the rude deserve no respect....
  21. I read this from some genius here, but I forget who that person is... whomever you are.. I thank you.. Twice .. If you are at home.. don't want to go out.. and need a {possible way} to open your panerai,..or any watch, and have already ruined your kids super bounce balls,..Go into the kitchen and look for some rubber gloves.. If your wife is petit.. and you are the opposite, this may not work.. also depends upon the thickness of the gloves... But if you happen to find a pair,.. can squeeze them on.. Great.. the tighter the better, {without breaking them}... If you have gained this space... after removing the band from the watch.. pick up your watch... crystal facing out.. thumbs on the caseback... use your finger-tips to obtain tight purchase and apply force with both your thumb-pads in the counter-clock-wise direction.. Keep in mind that it can take strength.. don't hurt your hands.. but apply as much pressure as possible... it may take many tries.. maybe 20.. but sooner or later the caseback will move .. once that happens.. it only takes a few turns to get it off... Have since ordered a cane-tip opener.. hasn't arrived yet but I hope with it I will be able to apply muscle with tool to get to just about every watch I own,. no matter the brand, scratch-less ! Good luck !
  22. I have been waiting for a decent omega chrono for a long time..... the movement is good news, she needs some face work, but I am still tempted... Here is a pic of the gen blue.... ------------------------------------------------->
  23. This is a great subject...and as usual, brings out some of the most eloquent writers that we have.. TJGladeRaider,.. yours in an instant classic I would like to add that I think this issue boils down to a persons expectations, and fortitude. If you expect these watches to live up to genuine then you will disapointed,...at which point you either quit, or fall into the mindset of those that continue to purchase from time to time but will tell another that reps are toys,.. crappy toys at that...these latter half, I at times, wish would quit the boards,..as they tend to bring down our hobby, with their negative vibes. If however you possess the mindset of a creative problem solver that will not quit,.. then these watches become a portal into a whole new world of design, mixed with watchsmithing of the highest degree.. Some use others to do the hands on work, which can be expensive, but to them worth it when compared to the price of genuine.. others start from small steps and progress to learn how to do just about everything themselves...which is a very satisfying experience to say the least and bridges a connection with your watch, and your self confidence that cannot be purchased, at any cost.
  24. kanerich, Edited per our pm'ed understanding... ---------------------------------------------------------------- Watcher71.. No matter as my opinions my be different from yours, I still see you as fellow member who has demonstrated a caring in longevity with us, and thus accept your thoughts as valid to you. Same to you... Have a Happy Memorial ! Richard, you will hear not another word about this subject from me.. I just had to let you know what I thought.. Maybe one day if, my idea is wrong....you will be so gracious as to show me my error..
  25. watcher71, You would dispute my telling you that your hair was on fire.. How did I know you would be the first to throw your crumpled cap into this discussion ? Is it that you are angry that you cannot bring your political non-compassionate conservative b.s. over here from over there ? Are you still angry at my lack of understanding of your statement, that if the world were to become a global community, it would find you in your closet holding on to your guns ? Whatever,...it is, you need to let it go and move on... This latest cut up, with all it's quotes, and twists is not worthy of the law professional that you claim to be. Maybe a paralegal huh ? How can you tie my interpretation of Neils non-actions to a defense thereof ? How can you overlook the main crux fact of this whole issue that Richards books are not geared towards replica buyers ? But Genuine buyers.. How can you sit up there and preach that his books are the replica bible, when Richard himself stated the information was basic ? You cannot,.. you are simply doing what you have always done... instigate until you feel you have your chance to exact some sort of hollow revenge, for what seems to be an anger over my confusion at your inability to grasp a global perspective. kanerich, you know squat about me or, how many years I have been collecting reps... robertk,. Richard's knowledge is not the subject of this discussion,.. it's the audience and methods he chooses to disperse that information that is.. Offshore...you have always been fair and unbiased..and I will consider your words.. However I know that other's besides me, understand my confusion and see the conflict of interest.. as they, like me, never see Richard enriching our forums.. adding to our discussions,.. only quick advertising links to his sales sites. Which demonstrates what, about his goals and purposes ?
