No, it just compresses a gasket to the stem tube and the stem to seal it up. It does make the crown a bit stiffer, but not locked.
-
no.. its a very simple gasket compressor, with reverse thread
-
So me being the idiot that I am I wanted to see how the crown key worked, and I forgot to set to the date before I pulled the stem, or perhaps I pushed just a feather-weight too much, and the keyless works mucked up... So what the hell, may as well tear it all down and take some pics, and use the opportunity to set date change to 12 on the mark. The only thing I didn't do was to pop the bezel off, but it's a 60-click, so pretty standard = use your imagination. Here's the autopsy report ETA stamp, Lucky me, they must have given me a Swiss movement Back on my wrist where it belongs!

^The subdials are still not right. They should be slightly recessed into the dial and have a very specific whiteish-silvery color/texture. Very noticeable when you see the gen, hard to see in pics. The reps are just white. Still, the softer V3 waffle pattern and color + cream datewheel + silver surrounds are a big improvement. I wonder if you could shave down the base of the hour hand where it is mounted to the pinion to make the hand stack appear more like gen... ? Post up pics on that gen strap!

Shock & Awe: JLC's Navy Seals diver automatic is deployed!

The 'device', or compression key, does not lock the crown. What is does is compress an o-ring into the case and around the stem making a water tight seal... Much like a Pam when you lock the crown down, as it also compresses an o-ring. The crown can still be operated when compressed, but it will feel more difficult to move, so don't play around with it unless you uncompress the key or you could damage the o-ring. -

Nice pics and review. I agree that this is an amazing rep and worthy of being in rotation. I haven't been able to take mine off for more than a day since I got it, and I want to get another to put on a gen strap.. Just need to find the strap 1st -
That franken AP is amazing ^ Here's what I've got on for today and the weekend.

Do yourself a favor and just get both

It looks great on the NATO strap. I have a similar strap incoming for my NSD but so far I really love the rubber bracelet more than I thought I would. This has become a favorite. I want to get another to keep one on NATO and one on bracelet so I don't have to choose

As this is a fantasy why don't you just brush the case and bezel? I really liked the brushed Ti when the incorrect V1 chronopassion was released. Also it would make future refinishing easy as it looks like that one gets a lot of wrist time, as it should!

Beautiful build. It looks so good on the rubber strap! There are threads that show detailed pics of the necessary case modding needed to make this work for those that ask the questions. Just dig a little

The rep is very good, but the strap it comes with is garbage. You need to find the nylon/Velcro strap for it.. Then you will have the perfect EOD. Just hunt in this forum for more info...

Great review. Batch 2 is in, I just got my QC pics the other day... Can't wait to get it on my wrist! -
Nice Chopard. I've gotten a few of these from him myself, but friends always buy them off me so I need to order another... good to know he has nice pens. I may have to pick one up as well.
