  1. Hi guys, I might be buying this TODAY for USD 1000 and would appreciate your opinion - is it gen? I believe so. Not too sure of the crystal though (according to seller it was recently replaced). Please click link for more pics! http://www.finn.no/f...jpg&adTypeId=67 Thanks and have a Merry X-mas all, mg
  2. Never liked white dial Pams until now....I love it! mg

  6. A unique watch like the 360 deserves the uniquely high quality you are a champion of !!! mg
  7. Hi all, do we have any inside or outside knowledge about wether these are being repped? mg
  8. A dimension of further interest just occurred as I was reading this topic. Decals can make perfect dials, especially perhaps if relumed in an old skool way on top of the decal. However is not made to industrial standards - and because a photograph always fades (even fixated ones?) - maybe our decal dials age faster and become even better looking over time? Just a thought, and if we are lucky this kind of dial projects can go from great to greater over time! Thoughts or experiences with this? mg

  10. Hi man, great watch!!! How about sticking a tuning fork movement in it? ebay search for tuning fork watches I am sure The Zigmeister or Domi can do it for you:-) MG
  11. Just got this from Domi Click here for more pics Domi is the man!!! mg
  12. Hi all, assuming Rolex developed a "Space-Dweller II" prototype in the late 1970's, this project was about imagining what it could've looked like. Build list: 1. Case: Old 1655 from Andrew. CGs shaved by me, lugs drilled by me. Bead-blasted with fine granulate corundum by Rolli. Waterproofed by Domi. 2. Crown: 8mm Brevet from DSN installed by Domi by application of the fascinating "freeze case/bake tube" technique. Blasted by Rolli. 3. Dial: SpD dial from Ingod44 at the bay. Relumed (SL mix) by Domi in vintage-style puffy hand-painted coats. 4. Secs hand: Omega Flightmaster chrono hand from Ofrei. Lumed in its entity by Domi (orange SL). 5. Hrs, mins: Relumed by Domi (SL mix), from Ofrei 6. GMT hand: Domi-lumed (SL mix) Seamaster JEDI date hand, from Ofrei. Fluorescent orange was considered, however it would visually compete with the secs hand. 7. Strap: James Bond Nato chosen to color-match case/dial. 8. Lugbars from ebay. Sorry don't recall the details. Will be upgraded. 9. Crystal: Clarks superdome. As the pics testify there's lots of distortion but that's only a problem on pics. 10. Movement: 2836-2 GMT bought from RWG some years ago. Will likely upgrade it later. Onto the pics: It's fair to say that this would be impossible without RWG. The watch is very grateful to Rolli, Rosnik, TeeJay, Dudemeister, Southcoast68, Gavidoc, Simon, Jkay, LHOOQ and Domi for advice, aid or work. mg
  13. I heard a weird squeeking noise and gathered it must've been Steve McQueen turning in his grave, roaring "Damn it Domi, why didn't you set me up back in the 1970's????". Man, I can't recommend Domi enough - what an amazing craftsman and artist he is. Nothing too big, nothing too small apparently. He gets the pieces, is silent, then delivers everything as desired. He is definitely an "ender" - he ends it. On this project he modified every piece supplied. mg EDIT: Better pics in fresh post here
  14. Outta the box and on my wrist! SL Lume mix is amazing! Will send more pics, specs and credits when I get a proper camera. Lume pic came out crap - its green for everything apart from orange secs. Very happy with it, definitely a keeper-beater mg
  15. Wow, why? Obsolete movement? I beileve its the ESA Y2 900231, same as in UDT Chronosport, and thats impossible to get hold of. mg
  16. I agree that Breits have a lot of things going on that compete for your eyes' attention. However I find the Breitling New Pluton to be legible, in fact very much so as it has put all the extras in the LCD window. They don't rep these but you get them cheap on the bay because they're so out of style... Manly sized, too. mg
  17. Following nerve-wrecking dwelling at customs: According to the postal folks my boy arrives tomorrow. Meanwhile, a snapshot from a friend who held it recently cheers all mg EDIT: A reminder of the SpaceDweller and its association to the Explorer
  18. Hi all, The skills here on RWG never ceases to amaze. But do we have someone here who makes custom hands from scratch? If we do, and I should be aware of it, please ignore my ignorance Hand in question: Regatta Bigsecs. Who's the man? cheers all, mg
  19. Hi guys, do we know how to source these hands? Been tryin and tryin with no luck! Especially keen on the secs hand for a project. Any tip would be immensely appreciated cheers all, mg
