  1. Completely agree Chefcook but just don't do it after wearing a Breitling Super Avenger Cheers P.
  2. Thank for the nice comments guys, yeah the girlfriend loves it ... Ronin, i tried the Yuki spacer but didn't work with this. It was too tall so i ended up using a spacer out of an old Tudor Oysterdate which had to be slightly modified. The datewheel is a vintage style overlay which i've had for years. Font is quite thin but it lines up well .. Cheers P.
  3. No ! leave the bezel shiny. I know its not correct but to me it looks way better polished Great build J you are indeed a member of the club.. Cheers P.
  4. Budget ..? looks a million dollars Frank P.
  5. Thanks mate .... its a rep bracelet so probably not correct but i will replace with a gen when i find a decent one Cheers P.
  6. Hi Andy just noticed that, doh ... ment to say 703 Cheers P.
  7. Thanks Frank.. No, Yuki bezel was way too big for gen insert. You can glue it in but the gap was obvious. i brought an old MBW bezel off of JoJo ... Cheers P.
  8. Thanks Andy, this case is a 1680 unlike old skool MBW's which are 5513 spec so 1680 dials need to be trimmed ... Its a thin font gen replacement bezel insert so pearl not wrong as such. Its a 703 crown for sure, again replacement spec for a triplock relacement tube ... Cheers P.
  9. Hiya all, so finally got this together and some pictures taken. After 2 years of collecting parts this is the lowdown : - Yuki case ... with custom engraving correct for a 2 million serial feet first model. - Gen 1570 movement - Rep dial from member JoJo - gen 702 tube and crown - gen tophat 127 crystal - MBW bezel (Yuki's won't fit a gen insert) with gen insert - after market hands - rep bracelet and endlinks with correct numbers and stamping Pics of course .... with its brother my DRSD .... Thanks for looking P.
  10. new or old 1675 is awesome ... great work Ronin, love it ! P.
  11. Its good to be crazy, thankfully we are not alone ... great stuff ! Cheers P.
  12. Hi all, i have been building a red 1680 for the best part of two years and decided to buy a complete 1500 for the donor 1570 movement. A complete watch made it more cost effective and ensured the movement was complete and working. I finally found a great specimen in Hong Kong for 1500usd, quite a bargain me thinks. So the red is almost complete just waiting for a winding stem to arrive. In the meantime i brought a 2846 donor movement and put the 1500 back together this morning. Let me tell you it was hard to break this watch up, it is a great example of a vintage Rolex. Anyway here it is rebuilt. Hands are Clarks and date overlay is one i had hanging around for a long time. And before anyone asks no not for sale, its now my girlfriends ... enjoy ... Thanks for looking P.
  13. wow! big investment already and not a V72 in sight ... love it, good job P.
  14. Cool thanks Rob.. can you check the 1's on the teen numbers. Do the Breitlings have a tail like the 11 and 1 ..? Cheers P.
  15. A beauty mate ... we following the same path again. As soon as the winding stem arrives for mine i'll post pics. But that dial is to die for, great stuff.. P.
  16. This is correct for a Comex ... DRSD and Great Whites are 610ft Cheers P.
  17. I just received this watch for its 2846 movement which i gonna use in a vintage Rolex project .... But check out the datewheel. Is that a Breitling datewheel for a Seawolf ? I'm pretty sure its the same font and that it will fit in a 2836-2 movement ... Looks like Swatch used them too Cheers P.
  18. Nice ..! but its not what yer got its how you use it ... Cheers P.
  19. yeah true but only to an expert i guess ... i had one before but got it stolen. Hope i can find another Cheers P.
  20. Thanks Craig, yes only first versions came with correct datefont. Not too worried i have gen dial and datewheel, just need a watch. Andrew at Trusty has no stock of any colour. Will ask around again Cheers P.
  21. Hi all, i see lots of posts on the disappearance of the yellow Breitling Seawolf but what about the other colours. Dealers are still advertising them but do they exist ...? Cheers P.
  22. Thanks Andreww and well said but i guess its economics, they want to be able to use one movement for all reps. Guess its why the case changed so fast. As for the dials you can't beat a gen, Importr is right, the effect on the gen blue dial is amazing. But its the same with most reps the dial is the biggest letdown. I always try and use gen dials if possible.. Cheers P.
  23. Thanks ! Yeah black navi is my favourite will never part with it. Yes pic taken today actually. You can see like yours i don't have a correct datewheel in the tricompax, really bugs me but really hard to find. if you ever come across more than one please get me one. I will do the same for you ... Yes its in a fighters case the only one i ever found that would fit the ETA movement. Cheers P.
  24. Yeah afraid so, you do lose a little of the markers on the edge but hard to notice. Wish i'd brought a few of the first generation cases at the time. Here with my first franken navi ... Cheers P.
