Thanks for the info. Actually i want the black dial in either a 6263 or 6239, the stainless steel bezel is my fav. I will build from dial up so the best dial wins. I think its the most important part of a Franken, get an original dial or the next best thing or don't bother building it....

Yeah probably should have sent it back, but i got a good offer and i had this dial which seem pretty good so.... voila
Gotta source a good 6239 dial now, any ideas?
Cheers

Thanks mate, i sold it. Had too many flaws, notably the 4 in the subdial and the T Swiss T was way too big. I want to build a 6239 like dluddys next...

There's only one watch in my collection tough enough to go to Afghanistan... here it is flying in a Blackhawk helicopter over Kandahar province....
Happy weekend !

Forget it, gen construction is complicated ask WM9. As Alligoat says no-one except the likes of us will ever call out a franken SSD. And the great thing is they're easy to get to this level..

Hi...
i've built two SSD based frankens using gen dials, gen inserts etc... The rep dial is good, very good but gens can be picked up quite cheaply so IMO its worth the swap but you'll need to get the hands lumed to match the glow... And you will have to cut the dial feet which makes re-selling the dial only difficult....
No the SSD will not take a gen crystal, case is a completely different build to the gen...

Hi there R. very nice piece.... If its anything like a Navi crystal removing it won't be a problem but re-installing it will be. It may have a plastic gasket holding it in place. Be very careful not to bend, stretch or damage this gasket in any way or you'll never re-install the crystal. If you know a rep friendly watch maker in your area go give it to him coz its not an easy job....
Btw who is doing your AR...? i've been waiting for another run from Chief but not happening yet.... or is it?
Cheers

Here's my original Phong 7032. Yes gen crystal and quite accurate bezel and good rehaut it seems. I brought it like this which is how Phong sells them complete... so no mods needed. The original Phong dial is the correct size but has other issues and mine started shedding paint which is why i replaced it....
Yup the lughole placings are not accurate but i think this is because the endlinks are so rare and Phong never sold these with rep bracelets. If they drilled the holes as per gen you wouldn't find endlinks to fit, gen or rep...
