  1. Thanks Andreww, i got hold of a gen dial so was thinking of building one with a eta7753 but will be needing the correct caseback. Checked Kings website but non listed, maybe i'll drop her a line see if she has some old stock. As always thanks again for your help P.
  2. Hiya all, just wondering has any of our dealers ever offered decent rep of the Navitimer 50th anniversary model.... Cheers P.
  3. First of all, welcome... 2nd is read, read, read.. all your answers are here already. But most of all have fun and don't go bankrupt Cheers P.
  4. Yup, whip on a leather strap, you can never go wrong with leather and whips... (sorry i'm on holiday...)
  5. Thank you... Dial is an NDT Trading, i'm sure the experts here will note the flaws ie 9 and 6 hour markers too thin etc but overall i'm happy with it. It has gen (and correct) crown and tube assembly, gen insert, gen flat top tropic39 and has been worked to look 30 years old as best i can... bracelet and endlinks are rep but correctly stamped and will probably last longer than a gen coz they're crap cheers P.
  6. Problem with gen 1680 dial is that they won't fit in the MBW case and have to be shaved a fair bit. Not sure you want to be doing that with a gen dial, it will render it worthless. Apologies for advertising but i've got a good quality 1680 dial already shaved, check out tools and parts section to see a pic. Cheers P.
  7. Hey Ubi, yeah i was into building one of these a while ago. I brought a case off of porsche365a but in the meantime he sold it to someone else (another member) and i never did see my money back so i abandoned the project at the very start as it already cost me well over 200 bucks... Nice dial, it would also be worth getting a gen "Tiger" version which go for much less and swapping the dial out as cases are hard to find... Cheers P.
  8. Hey Ubi, thanks my man but it ain't no gen its a Franken The minute hand is too fat but it matches the dial so well i dun wanna change it. My gen is still with Micheal Young in Hong Kong, i've forgotten what it looks like Lani, gotta love that 105macro. Awesome pics and an awesome watch. Great stuff! Cheers P.
  9. Wake up Lani ! Nice snowflakes guys, keep 'em coming... Cheers P.
  10. Okay now its Tudor time.... Cheers P.
  11. I'd love to see you wear it to an RSC, they'd probably think it was a new model Stilty you are hardcore selling a perfectly good 1680 case coz of the serial number... good man gotta love that! P.
  12. Hey TMG good to see you over here. Thanks mate, you better get yourself a Navi so our collections stay the same... Cheers P.
  13. tonio, here's a link to a useful guide to vintage Tudor subs.... http://forumamontres.forumactif.com/revues...riner-t1013.htm Cheers P.
  14. Thanks guys for all your advice and encouragement. Andreww thanks for the summary and yes 7753's are hard to find these days and expensive but worth it if you get hold of one Now i have to obtain another Rep Navitimer Serie Speciale to put my 6-9-12 back together so if anyone has one dead or alive i'll take off of your hands. And i'm also after a gen tricompax dial is excellent condition... Cheers P.
  15. Ok big news, it works! The 6-9-12 case is the key to the gen tricompax movement being used. Here's the pics... Thanks guys couldn't have done it without your help, hope it inspires you to do the same... Cheers P
  16. Hey Andreww, yes i haven't tried the 6-9-12 case as the only one i ever had was used for my other Navi. I have a plethora of 3-6-9 cases and non of the other. I'm away at the moment but will try the other case as soon as i get home. Fingers crossed it will make the job so much easier... Cheers P.
  17. When i lived in Hong Kong i knew a girl called [censored] Pong... needless to say i never dated her
  18. Nope, this date is exactly how it should be like the gen. The datewheel is recessed on the 3-6-9 version of the Asian 7750 movement. The date on the Asian 7750 6-9-12 isn't recessed either but the date window on the rep dials is too small. Bet u still confused huh? Do a search on the A7750 you'll learn alot here... Cheers P.
  19. Thanks guys, much appreciate the feedback and advice. Yes i will look for another dial but not too worried, as sander says it has a good vintage look, unless Importr you wanna sell me that awesome Arabic.... And yes i reckon Quick-Steel or Chemical Metal will do the trick. Andreww, yeah could be a problem raising the crown the alternative is as Chefcook says try the 6-9-12 case or use a smaller crown if they exist. Rep hands are the usual 7750 size. Hour/minute no problem. Subdials 2 out of 3 were perfect one needed a touch of cement. Large second hand needed broaching... Will keep you posted Cheers P.
  20. Hi guys, know you all been hanging out to know if a gen 7753 can be used in a rep case Tricompax Navitimer... first you need a 7753 with a gen dial. Rep dial date window is too small.... Gen dial is too big for case so you have to sand around 1.2mm off the edge. This is a pretty beat up dial i'm using on this project to see if it can be done..... Dial fits perfect.... After putting on hands fit spacer from A7750.... And voila a Franken Tricompax... we almost Problem is the stem alignment in the case is around 1.2mm too low... So i gotta remove the tube, re-drill the case and re-place the tube. The crown will cover the old hole which i will fill somehow... Watch this space, i hope it can be done.... Here are the twins... Cheers P.
  21. awesome piece and well worth putting a gen 7750 in it. Wear it well... P.
  22. Hey guys, thanks for your comments much appreciated... yodap, cost around 1k give or take a few bucks... as for the 7753, sorry know you've been hanging out to see how its going... well, not so good. In short the case needs to be machined inside for the gen dial to fit. They come up bigger than 7750 dials. Also when using a gen slide rule the movement sits too high so stem doesn't line up. I will post it in more details as soon as i get time. Cheers P.
  23. Okay, i've been working on this and a Tricompax version but this being the easiest got finished first. Still not sure if the Tricompax is possible we shall see... Modelled on a 1996 tritum dial version Specs: - serie speciale base watch - gen ETA7750 with A7750 signed rotor - gen tritum dial - Chiefs AR crystal - Lello datewheel - gen leather strap and buckle Pics: Cheers for looking P.
