  1. (Posting this) Just after midnight
  2. Well done, Frank.
  3. Excellent work, but, as JoeyB correctly pointed out, I would definitely lower the crystal profile. Here is a gen for reference Here is a comparison of my Phase II (gen-cased) & Phase I (Silix-cased) GMTs, both fitted with gen crystals
  4. Yes, it looks like 1 of these I generally do not watch the Grammys either, but since McCartney was performing & I like 2 of the nominated songs (Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' & Katy Perry's 'Firework' (1 of the greatest songs ever), I decided to suffer through the remaining 2.5 hours of the usual Grammy rubbish (which was up to its usual standards).
  5. ...Adam Levine (Maroon 5's lead singer) at the Grammy's?
  6. Still wearing my white-dialed '42
  7. Ronin's probably right. Crystals from different vendors often have different side wall thicknesses. So if your rep was designed for a thick-walled crystal & you replace the crystall with a thinner-walled crystal, the bezel retaining ring will be loose. Or, at least, will no longer snugly fit & seal around the crystal. There are also a variety of crystal retaining rings for rep cases. Their differing angles, heights & overhangs often make them non-interchangable. So it is usually easier, when replacing a crystal, to get another crystal to fit your retaining ring vs vice-versa.
  8. Of course, I love Datejusts & (Rose) Tudors, but this 1 is outstanding (except I am not sure if the seconds hand is blue or blued -- the latter being highly preferable to the former). Well done. Wise move.
  9. Ending the work week wearing my Aryan 'Master again (shown here with some buddies)
  10. Yes. The most glaring problem with most aftermarket Daytona dials are their crowns, which are crap. For Rolexaddict -
  11. There are exceptions, but, generally, I agree. I think the dial posted at the beginning of this thread is about the best aftermarket I have seen. It may in fact be similar to the (modded) dial in my watch
  12. This question has been answered many times. 1 of the v72s powering each of these Daytonas resides in a v72 case, the other in a 7750 case. Today, I could not tell you which is which, because the exterior of the cases are the same. With a dremel, time & patience, you can fit either movement into either DW case (the only difference between the cases is the inside contours).
  13. I modded 1 of ingod's (added a gen crown & enhanced the patination a bit).
  14. Somewhere in my archives, I have a pic of Mayer back stage before a concert & he is selecting which of the dozen vintage Rolexes (mostly Daytonas) in his travel case to wear on stage that night. I suspect his collection is anything but small.
  15. What do you mean by 'tags'?
  16. I am sure Robert Maron would say they exist.
