  1. O.T. I am
  2. I find it odd that some sight a lack of variety for not posting. Why not put your money where your mouth is & add something new to the mix? For those who feel people are bored looking at the same 2 pics, you are right. Easy fix - take new pics. I get bored after seeing my own pics more than a few times, which is why I take new pics on a regular basis. With a digital camera, it takes all of 5-10 minutes to shoot a bunch of pics, decide on the best 1, crop it (if you feel the need), upload it to photobucket (or your choice of photo hosting sites) & post a wristie. My only suggestions are to keep the final pic size reasonable (1024x768 or thereabouts), so others do not have to scroll all over the place to see your pride-in-joy & to not re-quote an entire set of pics (when commenting on someone else's pics) just to add a couple of words at the bottom.
  3. Ditto above comments. Really well done. So well done that I think you need a rivet bracelet.
  4. My experience is that many do not post wristies because they lack (or fear they lack) the requisite picture-taking skills. After all, what is the point of posting watch pics that look like they are taken with the specific purpose of scamming ebay buyers. That is, small, dark & out-of-focus. And for those of you who feel a high end camera is needed, you could not be more wrong. The vast majority of my pics are taken with a 10 year old 4MP Canon A80 point-&-shoot, & I think I get by. If you are unsure of your skills, please read Pugwash's outstanding (pinned) How to Photograph Watches articles. After letting Pug show you the basics, just practice taking pictures. That is the way most of us learned. 1 other thing - for every 1 great picture you see, it is likely (more than likely in my case ) that the picture taker took dozens of pics to get that 1 good pic.
  5. As always, ebay.
  6. Ditto bkwbkw.
  7. I would locate another dial (& handset) & get the movement serviced. Properly serviced, the 2846 is quite capable of meeting COSC specs (+6/-4 secs/day) & should be reliable for 5-7 years (the recommended service interval for most mechanical movements). The dial can be swapped during the movement service.
  8. 'Graph today
  9. You are correct. I was thinking of another 3/6/9 watch that looks like a 5517. My mistake.
  10. Sorry it did not work out. No, really....sorry. I mean it.
  11. I believe that watch appeared on VRF over the weekend. The really interesting thing about this is that the owner said the model number is 5513 (not 5517).
  12. Where did you get a datewheel with a long-tail 3 (which I have only ever seen used in the minute subdial of a Newman Daytona)?
  13. The way I read it, I think he is speaking more in generic terms (sister company = some other company) rather than suggesting they have a partner. It is pretty obvious the pre-assembled watches are standard issue reps & not constructed from Yuki's parts inventory. I think he is just trying to broaden his catalog.
  14. The watch (with bezel) sold for 66k at the end of the auction. Whether the watch is gen remains a bit of a mystery.
  15. Some interesting info there. Thanks for the link.
  16. I would have opted for non-glowing paint instead of lume to maintain its gen appearance, but, otherwise,
  17. It appears that the wider media has now picked up the story about the rare Sub that recently sold on ebay. Here is a pic of the original owner (at right) wearing the watch with the late Christopher Reeve (Superman) (For the 2 of you who missed the story, click the pic to read it)
  18. Officially, the 5514 model was designated specifically & (solely) for non-date Subs delivered to Comex. Therefore, if the 3 non-date Subs have (externally) Comex-numbered casebacks, they are 5514s, regardless of the internal stamping of the case/caseback (some were stamped 5513). Otherwise, a 1665 & 16610 (Comex designation makes no difference with either of these models).
  19. That was not Elvis, it was Obama.......er, I mean Osama. Though, has anyone ever actually seen Obama & Osama in the same place at the same time? Makes you wonder?????
  20. To every fat, insignificant religious lunatic that did not assassinate John Lennon: my apologies. Better?
