  1. A couple other people mentioned the same thing & that must be why Yuki would only allow me to order 1 bezel.
  2. I am pretty sure the 78350 clasp is wider & has a slightly different connection to the links. I do not have a solid link on hand to verify, but I doubt they are interchangeable.
  3. Reliable seller, too. All you need is a clasp assembly.
  4. A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK I just received my Yuki 6241 bezel/insert & I have to say that it corrects all but 2 of the obvious errors on aftermarket 62xx Daytona bezels. But before I get into the specifics, here are a couple of comparison shots of the Yuki (all left/top) vs the DW (all right/bottom) One Hundred Ten The most glaring problem with most aftermarket bezels is the too-widely-spaced 1-1-0, which the Yuki gets right. Unfortunately, the fonts are printed a bit too boldly (this, for me, is not a major issue since this is difficult to see without a loupe) & the overall printing quality is not up to the standards of the DW insert UNITS PER HOUR While many aftermarket bezels place the words 'UNITSPER' too close together, both the Yuki & DW get that correct. However, none of the aftermarket bezels (including Yuki's) get the spacing of each individual letter (or even the fonts themselves) correct, which is the 1st of its remaining (obvious) sins Not All is Hunky-Dory The other problem with the Yuki is that, like most aftermarkets, it lacks the flat-top '4' that Rolex used on inserts from the 50s (think 6542) through the 80s. Here is a gen for comparison (note the flat-top '4', flattened 'S' & wider spacing between letters) Yuki's plastic insert is also flush with the top of the bezel, which corrects another sin of the DW & most other aftermarket bezels Here are a few wristies with the Yuki bezel, which is also correctly sized to fit snugly around a gen T21 crystal without having to either pick up a Dremel or worry that it will fall off THE BOTTOM LINE Overall, because the Yuki finally gets the 110 spacing correct without introducing any other glaring problems, I think it is worth upgrading. ADDENDUM Not sure how I missed it, but the 7s are missing their top serif, which is almost as big a tell as the 1-1-0 was on the DW. So, yet again, 1 step forward & 1 step backward. This leaves my overall impression of the Yuki a bit less positive & turns a good bet into more of a luke warm recommendation. The scale remains tipped, slightly, in favor of the Yuki, but, now, only by a couple of hairs.
  5. Wearing my beater, but wishing I was wearing it on the road
  6. Any watchmaker who works on chronographs can handle this during a standard overhaul. Look in your phone book under 'watch repair' or 'watch & clock repair' & phone the shop to see if they will work on a rep containing a ETA 7750 (I doubt the watchmaker will identify the movement as Asian-made & if he does, just plead ignorance & thank him for letting you know). Tell him you need yours overhauled & would like to have powdered graphite applied to a few locations on the top plate during reassembly. If he agrees, pick up some powdered graphite at a local hardware, auto parts or home store, print out my initial post (including the pics) & give it to the watchmaker when you deliver your watch (make sure to redact the RWG names & links).
  7. Never seen 1 of those before. Very cool.
  8. Yes, too tall for a GMT. The xtal should rise a bit beyond the point where the bevel begins. I would encourage you to search out some gens to use as models before you begin modding.
  9. Lookin good. But, then, it should.
  10. Some nice metal shown today, gentlemen. I have my Comex today
  11. Please do not re-quote an entire post (including pics) just to add a line or 2 at the end. I have been collecting watches/reps since the late 1970s, but I think this is the oldest rep I still have (from the early 80s). As you can see, we have come a long way over the past 30 years This was my 1st decent Daytona (from the late 90s - I converted the pushers from Oyster to non-Oyster type) This is a current pic of my 1st DJ franken & its history. This was also the 1st rep I know of that had (originally white) tritium lume, which, as you can see, has since developed a patina exactly like a gen
  12. Ditto dluddy.
  13. Helmet? Arai.
  14. Back from the last great adventure of the season
  15. Currently, wearing my white '42 But I will be switching over to my beater when I hit the roads for the last adventure of the season
  16. (Gen 1601 & 16014)
  17. Not at all. My mid-80s 16014 has round 3s & closed 6s/9s. On the other hand, my 1970 1601 has flat 3s & open 6s & 9s. I think there was some overlap on datewheels during the late 80s, so either style is acceptable.
  18. Selling contraband (reps) is illegal in most countries.
  19. I do not know the laws in France regarding the purchase of reps, but in most countries it is not (functionally) illegal to buy reps (only to sell them). However, it is possible that the buyer could still be charged whatever 'taxes' the country requires when importing a gen.
  20. In a word, yes. It is obviously not the real deal. But, on the positive side, if the price is right (under $100), it might be a good investment because of the correct hand stack movement. Do you know the price?
  21. My guess is they also sells reps.
  22. Ending the work week wearing my albino '42
  23. I can 2nd the vote for Epiphone. Although I do not own 1, I have played a handful of them & they all sound/play noticeably better than any of the look-alike brands.
