  1. If you plan to keep/wear the watch, I would have the 2846 (which have not been repped as far as I know) properly serviced.
  2. Wore my CHS today
  3. Read this
  4. Cousins sells a near-exact (Swiss made) copy of the gen, so that is probably the best. Ofrei sells another Swiss-made version, but the tube is slightly shorter than Cousins'.
  5. Read The Zigmeister's Asian 7750 review.
  6. Even though he often transfers blame for everything to someone else, Mr. Slimeball is a 1-man operation.
  7. If you are referencing my comments, then it is only 2 times this month. The experience I cited above occurred 3-4 years ago. I have (happily) not had any contact with him since then.
  8. Compare what you see/saw to a gen
  9. I think the auction may have been pulled for legal reasons. Unfortunately, all but the main pic are missing, but from what I can make out in the 1 remaining (poor quality) pic, the dial & handset look fake.
  10. Good point, but not relevant as it has been more than 20 years since I have eaten at a McDonald's.
  11. Even after explicitly asking - 1. if his end links accepted gen 2mm dia springbars (seller's answer - 'yes' (as anyone who has these can attest, they do not)), & 2. if they looked like the gen 580 end link in the pic I sent him (again - 'yes'), I received the following sets of '580' end links Then, following 6 months of lies/excuses/distortions & 1 exchange, which resulted in my receiving the same end links back (I had marked 1 of them just in case), not to mention a formal PP complaint (amazingly, even with full documentation proving 'bait-n-switch', PP sided with the seller!!!!!!!!!), Mr. Slimeball was born. And in each of 2 subsequent deals with Mr. Slimeball (for different parts), the results were the same (I received items that did not match his descriptions).
  12. Nice pic. Looks like your watch is well protected. Ending the work week wearing my beater But I will probably switch over to 1 of these when I leave for dinner tonight (still not sure which)
  13. Proper bracelet combos for the 1665 - 9315/285 or 385 end links 93150/585 (though 580s, which I have on my watch, will fit)
  14. My sympathies. Hang in there, Marty.
  15. Due to the sudden appearance of a number of '59 'Big Log' 20mm vintage 7206 bracelets on ebay, most of which appear to be coming from Asia (generally, Hong Kong), I think it is safe to assume that this bracelet is now being repped & aftermarket parts sellers (such as NDTrading) are attempting to scam buyers. It strains credulity to think that a half dozen rarely seen bracelets would suddenly flood the market & all coming from the same corner of the world (a corner that has become notorious, in the past year, for repping vintage Rolex bracelets with great accuracy). On the positive side, I would expect these soon to be available through our normal channels at the usual aftermarket prices.
  16. I hate to be the sole black cloud on your parade, but, unless your '17' was a typo, the 62xx Daytonas require 19mm widths. Still, it looks like a nice bracelet if you have something that it fits.
  17. I know of only 1 lady (Victoria) who might know the difference between a gen & franken, but she has not been seen in these parts for many moons. Therefore, I think it is safe to say that either would yield similar benefits.
  18. Not from me.
  19. Stay positive & keep talking to him.
