  1. Abbey - To reduce the likelihood of problems, it is best to stick with the sellers listed in our Watches section (note - some sections of RWG require paid membership to access - see the Upgrade your membership link atop each page for details). In general, your best bets are Josh (PerfectClones) & Andrew (TrustyTime).
  2. Before people start breaking out the champagne, I would remind you that Eurotimez (remember him) made a similar QC promise not so long ago.
  3. I guess you missed Yuki's ETA adapter
  4. If the index markers on the dial have metal surrounds, then your pearl usually does as well. But if the index markers do not, then the pearl should not.
  5. Very good point. Even though I used to worry endlessly about it (when I was wearing a non-functioning Daytona), I think it worth noting that in the more than 25 years that I have been collecting watches, no one has ever asked me to run my chrono to see if my watch is gen or not. Never. (I have only ever run them to verify that the functions worked.) Similarly, there have only been a couple of instances (2-3) over these many years that someone asked about or tried to call me out for wearing a fake (& in 1 of those instances I was wearing a gen & the person posing the question left with pie on HIS face ).
  6. Not sure what it was about Ofrei's pearl that you did not expect, but they sell the same 1 that Rolex currently fits during service (albeit much cheaper).
  7. Ending the work week wearing 1 of my Newmans
  8. Well, if the hand is solid, then there are only the 2 other causes for the hand to be correct in its null (12 o'clock) position yet off at the 6 o'clock position - either the subdial is printed inaccurately or the movement requires adjustment & I would say the odds are about even on both.
  9. There may be a few issues, all of which are common with rep watches (especially kit watches). 1st, it looks like the printing on the minute subdial is slightly askew. If you draw a line along the bottom of the 20 & 10, the 10 appears to be slightly lower than the 20. So the 15 minute tick mark at the 6 o'clock spot on that subdial could be off-center. 2nd, there may be some play within the chrono wheels that cause the hand to be slightly off at some points. 3rd, the hand wand may be loose on the hand tube, which is a common problem with reps, especially chronographs. Unfortunately, the only way to verify any of these possibilities is to have a watchmaker look the watch over.
  10. I could have sworn Clarkson wore a Panerai some years ago. I guess he has replaced it recently Not sure about May's or Hammond's choice of timepieces, but, knowing May's tendency towards sophistication, I would guess something along the lines of Patek or VC. Either way, I agree that Top Gear has gotten a bit silly at times (more so recently), but it is still the top car show of all time (Fifth Gear is a close 2nd). Here is Clarkson's take on watches. Good thread by the way.
  11. I would get it on a gen bracelet, but
  12. Regardless of whether you have a helium valve or not, if you plan to wear your watch in water (swimming, showering, heavy rain, etc), you should have it pressure-tested (at least) yearly to be sure the case is sealed.
  13. Wearing my 116509 (left) early Wednesday morning
  14. I only/always use gen crowns. That goes without saying.
  15. I would not worry about the datewheel either.
  16. Pics not sufficient to properly qualify the case (but looks similar to most aftermarket cases), but the bracelet is clearly low-end. Were it me, I would stick with DW, Phong, NDtrading or Yuki.
  17. Beginning the work week wearing an oldie-but-goodie
