  1. Nanuq - I would love to see some new pics (preferably wristies) of the BL myself.
  2. A vintage Doxa would get my vote.
  3. Sounds like Swine Flu to me.
  4. Ending the work week with dual time zones
  5. Kind of an expensive route to take, but you could get the Yuki watch and replace the dial & crystal. The crystal should be relatively easy to source (Clarks), but the dial, especially a red dial, would be difficult. I went through my Tudor archives in search of Rangers (with or without the red lettering), but could not find a single 1.
  6. I can only provide my own personal experience, but my CHS was 1 of the 1st batches & it is still running fine (I tested the GMT function upon arrival, but, otherwise, I have not had to set the time much since)
  7. Definitely gen. As to the gaggle of others, pictures are not good enough to be sure, but nothing sticks out as suspicious like the 1st 1 did.
  8. Stephane - it looks good on you. And about time you got 1. I may just have to put mine back on tonight But, today, I am wearing the old beater
  9. Nanuq's is correct (gen).
  10. The 16520 had running seconds at 9. I do not believe any of our collectors offer good 16520s, but I have not checked recently.
  11. I will give you enough info to begin your search for more detailed answers - The Asian-made 7750 (with the exception of the seconds at 6 version as used in modern Daytona reps), so-called Lemania (these are actually Lemania copies) & Swiss-made (as opposed to the recent Asian-made) ETAs are all good movements, which, with regular (every 5-7 years) professional servicing, should last a lifetime. Beware that the movements that come in rep watches are not serviced & often previously-owned (used), so, if it is a watch you want to keep for a long time, it is best to send it off to a rep-friendly watchmaker for a full overhaul ($100-$150 or higher depending on your geographic area & whether the movement contains worn/defective parts).
  12. Still awaiting mine & I think they made the red stripes 1 thread width too wide. But still very well done & alot closer than anything else out there.
  13. Nope, not kidding at all. Sorry.
  14. I concur with the previous comments. A truly wonderful collection. However, I would consider replacing the insert on your 5513 - it looks aftermarket.
  15. Like Diesel said: great watch, great pics, great discovery.
  16. Wearing my CHS GMTIIC Sunday night & I will probably start the work week off with it
  17. She ought to love it.
  18. Congratulations, that is a beautiful watch.
  19. I am sorry to hear the bad news, but this is a very common problem with rep watches. The movements in reps, no matter what type of movement, are, at best, unserviced and, at worst, used & on their last leg when they are installed at the rep factory. Because of this, it is always recommended to get a rep with an ETA movement & then have a professional (rep-friendly) watchmaker overhaul the watch soon after you receive it. Once properly serviced, your ETA-powered rep, like any other mechanical watch, should last a lifetime as long as you have it serviced regularly (every 5-7 years).
  20. I completed the phase 1 6542 a couple of months ago Nothing (in completed form) since then. What have you been up to? Anything new at your end? Back to my beater Friday evening
  21. Good to see you and that 'same ol' stuff', Ubi.
  22. Unfortunately, I have blown my wad for awhile.
