  1. If you haven't done this type of work before, consider a modder. I say that due to the expense of the parts your using. This work is extremely delicate, some people have a knack and some don't. You really do not want to find out if you have the knack or not... in the middle of working with genuine parts. Dials and hands get permanent damage in just seconds. I know this because I have done it. Buy some cheap watches to take apart first and as you find success work up to the expensive ones. I tell you this because I have messed up several things. There are guys around that find all this second nature, and if you look at their tutorials it looks simple and easy it really isn't. There's a good modder in the UK called "Bonsey" and hes on the forums. You really should consider him or someone like him to help you. I don't want to discourage you, it's your money...but I jumped straight into this and wasted money...maybe you wont. Good luck whatever you do!
  2. I agree with all this! That's a nice one! My hands do not match yet, nor are they particularly accurate. I need a gen bracelet also. The differences in mine verses yours, mine has Ingod rail dial, working Hev, and I preferred the lower gen service T39. I just need to find someone to relume my watch with a perfect cream color. You have a very good Seadweller, I know how this watch does that, leads you to want each detail better and better.
  3. Just join up and hang around Ezel, As far as knowledge, there's as much here as the gen forums. As far as selling, anything expensive can be a little harder to sell, gen or rep forum. People look for references and past sales anywhere you go.
  4. I've never seen one with a gold case, but your right...it would look pretty cool, especially if your case looked good. Here's a nice gilt dial project from a few years ago http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/110367-explorer-1016-gilt-dial-project-completed/
  5. I agree! That's a nice piece, but way big for me. I keep waiting for "this strap an alarm clock on your wrist" fad to fade it's mostly young guys wearin them I guess?
  6. Thanks for the update
  7. Thats the idea...yes
  8. Very nice build! Someday I'm going to build one if these
  9. Squale have a long professional diving heritage that goes back to the early 60's. Some models ran neck to neck with Rolex divers back then.
  10. Something from this pile
  11. Efishant The movements used in replicas are often pulls from older watches. It's not uncommon to get a dry, dirty or worn movement. Experienced rep buyers will include a service in the buying price and send the watch off to have it serviced when they get their watch. The dealers overseas are not the manufacturer, but rather middlemen in the deal. Usually they go pick up the watch after you pay. They have no idea of what they are going to get movement wise. They also are not going to tell you the above. Just figure a service when you purchase a rep and you will save yourself frustration and stress. Welcome to replica world
  12. Just edit your pictures in Photobucket. There's an arrow that's curved Icon, tap it and your picture will rotate.
  13. You don't need much power at all
  14. You could locate a nearby watchmaker, ask her if she's willing to meet there with the watch. I'd try that approach first, then see what she says. If she agrees to it, there's a chance anyway it's legit. That's a really tempting price for that watch.
  15. Wish we could!
  16. What kind of sub and crystal? Plexi or sapphire? Plexi's cyclops for the most part and not replaceable, sapphire's can be. I have seen the sapphire cyclops for sale but can't remember where.
  17. 250$ is a good price on the blue Tudor insert, they average 300-350$, 600$ is outrageous! I got lucky with my gen for 160$ but pearl was missing, other than that..mint. The fact he wanted to make 350$ profit just screams of his character..if you even ever received your insert. I'm glad another scumball is being exposed. This hobby is difficult and expensive anyway without guys like him.
  18. This x 100 When you buy a new rep from any of the dealers, the movement..even when genuine swiss eta..are often used, dirty and dry. It's recommended that you have someone service your watch if you want trouble free. There are several guys on the forums that can help and pretty fast and reasonable. Especially if this is to be a gift for someone that isn't in this hobby. Good luck with your watch
  19. The fat 2mm springbars are gen spec and should be used with these watches. He included the small ones in case the bracelet is used for non gen spec subs. There are people out there who say the smaller springbars in general, will wear out-and elongate the lugholes in watches. I definitely would use the larger 2mm bars with your TC watch.
  20. Boy...that sure reminds me of another famous watch.....I can't put my finger on it just yet.... J/K! Squale are great watches! Congrats Mike! Not a bad deal for 500$ A few years ago there was a member here that had contacts with Squale, I can't remember who it was. They had great deals on several different models.
  21. That's a mess.
  22. Packing packing packing!
