That's a nice result. I tried three times to build one that was barely decent, enough so that I could wear it and not feel the shame of a disastrous monstrosity on my wrist. I failed. Each one was worse than the last. I was pretty sure it couldn't be done. But this? My God, you've done it. I know how thin these things are, and how tiny. That 6mm crown centered on the case tells the story. The details are almost all there, and it looks like.... well, it looks like a gen that's been living in a safe after having been worn for a decade when new. Everything just fits, it's tiny, it's thin ... what an accomplishment. Serious respect! This is a masterpiece.

This is what makes this place great. guys with experience showing the noobs the tricks of the trade. Hats off to RickFlorida for trying, I attempted to fix the keyless works on a rep many years ago, and wound up with a table top full of bent parts, a screwdriver embedded in my palm, and little bitty tiny screws, so infuriatingly small that you want to just SMASH them, bouncing noisily across my floor.... heard but never again seen. Some hands are made for doing this stuff. Other hands are made for axes, winches and chainsaws. Respect to the guys that have the patience and the talent to tear one of these movements apart, reassemble it, and have it actually WORK. Huge respect.

Yeah I just realized I had the 24h hand set so it's showing noon, not midnight! Really, it was near midnight when I took those!

Whenever I put something up for sale I get deluged with messages from children that can't find their butt with both hands. I just ignore them. Consider putting artificial limits on your sales. I only sell to people I know, or who have been around 5+ years, or who have consistently been donating or participating in the forum. Look at their profile here, it shows how much they participate and how long they've been around. Don't be in a hurry to sell. You get to do it exactly one time and you want it to be pleasant for everyone. I've been approached by dipsticks from VRF with high 5-figure offers to buy my pieces, and I ignore them too. God knows they have more money than sense and doubtless, a horde of lawyers on retainer. That means I'd lose my watch and never see a dime for it. Forget that, I'd rather GIVE it away than tolerate that crap. This is supposed to be fun, right? So make it fun. I once gave away a watch here to the first person who could tell me the name of my grandmother's pet. There's one public place on the Internet with that detail, and by God, someone found it. I was pleased as punch to give him that watch. Make it fun!

We'll need to see photos. Can you show it with the caseback off too? Try to get a photo showing the HE release valve from the inside. Also show the caseback both sides, and a profile shot of the CGs. Detailed photos of the dial will tell where it came from too, as well as the originality of the hands. That all adds up to its franken-ness.

^^what he said Also I recommend against using the little rubber button to press against, like I show in my photos. I use another large diameter die on the "button" side, that fits over the domed caseback. I actually dented the caseback on my 1675 with that button when pressing on the last crystal. If you have Manly Hands like Mike On A Bike, you can do the old hockey puck press too. Cut appropriate holes in two hockey pucks and use your manly grip to squeeze the ring on. If it won't go using that method, it's probably too tight anyway.

IIRC that was a cap for sealing off a length of pipe prior to pressure testing. That doesn't explain the hex head. It just worked out that the ID of that piece fits nicely over T19 crystals. Edit: I just checked and it's a slip plug. Good eye.

This is what I use. It's a 1-1/4" PVC cap (non threaded) and I cut down its wall height to fit inside my manual press. I didn't cut it very well and it still does a great job.

Yeah and I don't know about Tanfoglio having the biggest collection, I think at one point Lani had 578 watches. What a nice blast from the past!

@Mattjames84 this is exactly why RWG exists, to share information about watches. You can buy one bespoke or you can buy something else and mod the hell out of it, or you can put together a bunch of pieces and see what happens... in the end it's all about what YOU want to see on your wrist, and maybe we can help you with historical knowledge of what works and what doesn't. You let us know what you find that works, and post some photos. We all learn, we have a bunch of fun, and you wind up with the watch of your dreams. Experts be damned, YOU wear what YOU like. The MBW/MBK is a hell of a good starting point and it gives you the freedom to do whatever you want to do. Parts will fit and it will open up avenues for you to make this what you want it to be. 5513? 1680? Milgauss? It's all up to you and the drill and grinder.

I give you the two-tone Sea Dweller. I could barely accept a two tone Submariner, since most are desk divers and it's marginally okay to have some frou-frou at work. But a SD is a tool watch with a purpose. There is no reason on God's green earth for it to have gold anything.

Can you load simulations? You should try an approach to Deadhorse Alaska, during.... oh let's say January. Pick a windy day. [emoji15]
