  1. More and more this thread is turning into a big circle jerk.
  2. I find the hambone collection to be tasteful, yet not over stated, redundant in it's splendor even.
  3. Yes, I have so many GEF., Paci, Toscana etc. straps and they are great, yet something about the exotic skins that give a bit more of a dress look. The regular leather are better for jeans, and that is not how I started out feeling. Tastes in straps might change, but one thing is for sure, I will always love the Panerai watches.

  5. The quest for straps never ends and after looking for a good custom alligator, I found this fellow in Cali who makes amazing things with reptiles. I ordered this cognac gator for my fiddy last week and just got it today. The buckle was from Elliot however as he did not stockPanerai style buckles. 6. Another ubsurd urban legend that seemsto consume the sensibilities of the gullible.
  7. J Freeman, we now can all clearly see your nuts.
  8. Standard network programming has sucked for decades and for about that long I have refused to watch the crap they put on the air. Now if you take the cable shows like Dexter, Sopranos, Deadwood, Rome, 6 Feet Under,Carnivale, and the like, now there is something worthwhile, stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable. It is only too bad that these superb programs do not seem to continue for very long, but they do seem to keep offering great shows. "John From Cincinatti" is just great.
  9. Vick is a [censored]. A cruel [censored] at that. Someone should douse him with water and electrocute him so he can get a sense of what it feels like. What an [censored]!
  10. I purchased Davidsens fiddy last November for 350. and it is a superb watch that I have been very happy with. The Big Bang is really a stunning looking watch and I have seen this gen in rose gold with the black ceramic bezel many times, and chose it as the one I wanted if it were to be repped. For the price of 2 fiddys I can have this watch, it's beautiful, and is a design that hits a home run for me, so the cost is not that much of an issue. I sell fine art for a living and always tell my clients that if you love the work and it is in your budget then by all means reward yourself for your hardwork and buy it. So, there won't be any price complaints from me and I hope that the watch I get comes without any problems. Andrew has always been good to me and I feel good about buying this piece from him.
  11. Whoa there Rolli..Greatest strap list yet. Thanks very much
  12. I enjoy collecting reps and find it to be very stimulating hobby. Pugwash eloquently expressed a number of the same points I also feel. I would not say I am a rich person by any means, but I do well and could afford a collection of gens if it was something I wanted to do. Sure there arer flaws in the watches we buy, but hey, everthing in life has flaws, big deal. This hobby of ours is most enjoyable and rewarding to me on many levels. The comaraderie here and with my fellow rep collectors who I have introduced to this play a large part of the allure. Life is short and if there is something in it that you want that is reasonable to attain, then by all means pursue it and don't look back with regret. It's only money.
  13. Good point made there Shim. Here in Vegas I see subs all over the place every day. They are becoming quite common, and that may be why people are looking for alternatives. I see maybe one Panerai every couple days or so, but they are more disctinctive for sure.
  14. So if you have a Yachtmaster watch, does it follow suit that one should also have a yacht? I hardly think so.
  15. Brad, you kill me, thats an amazing collection dude. Way to go!
  16. I bought the Paci PAV 91 when it was first offered and got it in May. Here it is on my fiddy. It also looks great on my 232. Shot with DSC-T50 at 2007-07-14
  17. Seems like the best option here would be to put the 7753 into the Honpo case and switch the CG while you're at it. The markings on the 7753 are just not as sharp as they should be and I can see why you are dissapointed. The movement is the engine though, and it will be a great watch when you fix it.

  19. Congratulations. You have built a superb and beautiful watch.
  20. Highly abnormal, decidedly irregular, unstandardized standardness.
  21. The black strap is ok, nothing special, but the tan strap is a homerun, as well as the buckle.
  22. It has been said that an indication that a person might be homosexual is if the person inquires whether a popular brand of wristwatch is favored by homosexuals.
  23. Those are some rough talking muppets.....LOL
  24. Great looking watch and a fine choice for a first pam. Enjoy it.
