  1. I know, but I won't say. I've got one of those thingies. I admit that I have never used it though. It takes a very steady hand and should be used in accordance with another larger and very expensive tool that I do not own.
  2. Ubi, welcome to the Jumbo club! Very nice choice with the blue dial. This a superbly made watch, it is really something to behold in person. Congrats, my friend PS. I also agree with your comment(s) about growing more & more fond of the Genta Monocoque design. I am glad I gave it a chance - - I'm also glad that my tastes have evolved as well. I love mine!
  3. Welcome to the 1675 club!! :drunk: The GMT-I is one of the best watches ever produced. And it is a nice investment. Did you also get the original dial and hands? What a beauty! Cheers My GMTs over the years...
  4. I think I'm gonna get a subscription. It's only $34.97 a year.
  5. One of the donors came from a NOS no-name watch called Merkury (yes, spelled that way). That is the movement you see in the pics. It has a little 2 sided tape on the front fascia for dial swapping. This movement will be used shortly. The one that broke my heart is from a Zodiac. I will NEVER do this again. The 6263/5 is a puny little watch that is NOT worth wearing. I will sell off the others (they need servicing) and I will keep the NOS Merkury one when I get it finished.
  6. Just for you Doc, here are some quick money shots!
  7. ??? I don't quite know what to say. A further investigation seems to be in order here - but I def. smell rotten fish. Looks to me that Mr. 9 & Co. are also selling reps for top dollar. Most importantly, I find it quite funny that a supposed experienced IWC and Patek Philippe repair technician sells reps. This is total bulllshit.
  8. Nice strap. I've got a Hktan pilot strap coming at some point (it's taken a few months already).
  9. Great idea guys I've got my Cousins wheels at Zig's place right now. Can't wait 'til I get the 3717 back. PS. This place is great!
  10. Excellent Helium Valve <--- best I've ever seen! IMHO, it's worth $900 (value of the movement only). Ubi is right, at least the seller ain't charging $10k. Mr. Hemi-Cuda, now in Canada? Driving a fako-Lambo in Germany? Who's to know but the seller himself. A house built of playing cards is easy to crumble.
  11. Monday is MBW time - - Aquanaut time
  12. The Clownmaster is an aesthetic disaster. Rolex should be taken out back and slapped. As for their website, it is a poorly designed silly PR campaign that seems as if it was hatched by a design team drinking Fuzzy Navels in a Palms Springs, CA bar at 10:30AM. Rolex was once a glorious company. The fact that they have no respect for their clients and for their history makes them even more dispicable in my eyes. No support for models that are 20+ years old? Give me a break. I can send in a Victorian-era pocket watch to Patek Philippe or a circa 1909 wristlet to IWC and have them lovingly serviced.
  13. Please excuse me if I have not mentioned this before (I thought I had). Beware my fellow friends: There are tons of fake Omegas coming out of Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay. I have seen them myself! Most are simply recased with redials. Also, there are quite a few extraordinary Dr. Frankensteins (who seem to have a penchant for vintage Omega) emanating out of India as well. We're talking about Rancheros, Seamasters and military examples for the most part.
  14. Nice work. Dr. Frankenstein would be proud!
  15. I was wondering if there are any serious watch collectors here who primarily fancy OEM watches. I am very curious. I'm about 10% rep 90% OEM. I've been a serious OEM collector for 15+ years. How about you?
  16. What an unusual and wholly unique looking creature it is... Wow, last night I got a slew of questions/compliments about my Nautilus. In fact, it was the most comments/interactions I had ever had in respects to a wristwatch. This goes to show you how damn great this rep is!
  17. How about a 33mm VC or AP? Or what about one of TTK's ladies PAtek Aquanauts! That is my kinda lady!
  18. Great watch, but alas, 46mm is too big for most of us dogs (unless you're a New Foundland, Great Dane or St. Bernard). And for the record, I ain't a small dog, either! Hopefully a correct Br-03 will show up. PS. I've always enjoyed looking at your pics. As you know, I have a lotta fun posting my pics around here, too. People do like to gawk!
  19. Datewheel overlays = pain in the buttocks Datewheels with overlays glued/pre-aligned and ready to drop in = ice-cold glass of beer PS. I prefer the silvery datewheels. All of my OEM vintage Rolexes have the silvery wheel (lucky I guess).
  20. The 3717 is a great watch! Mine is at The Zigmeister's for a Swiss movement swap, Cousins datewheel install and a dial/hands relume. This watch is so good that I felt that it deserves to be 100% perfect. I will be keeping my 3717 until my time on this planet expires. Cheers!
  21. Interesting anecdote(s). It's a wonder that the brand Glas
  22. Getting a strap wet makes it rot. It will stink worse than an afternoon spent in an SUV filled with 4 English Sheepdogs that spent the morning swimming in the ocean. Use the rubber strap. Better yet, keep your rep away from water
  23. Work of art it is. Very impressive. In fact, I really like it! 2 drawbacks: It's a "Panerai". It is only partially a genuine watch. For me personally, that kind of money is best spent upon a genuine vintage watch with actual provenance. Like a JLC MKII, Breitling Navitimer 806, Heuer Tri-Compax Autavia, Sinn EZM-1, Benrus Type II, Longines Czech WWII Aviator, Tutima Luftwaffe Flieger, etc...
  24. I am wearing this big heavy beast today:
