  1. Nice items in yor arsenal. It seems that we have similar tastes. Enjoy
  2. Great pics & comments. You've reminded me to go and pick up one of my V72 DWs from my watchmaker (who never ever seems to finish anything). Best regards
  3. It's debateable whether or not you should start 'em off so young Nice watches!
  4. It's funny how things come in and out of favor. I guess that's the life of a WIS. Once a project is completed, it's time to move onwards to the next 50 or so projects I've always wanted to handle a Daytona 7750 or Seagull-powered unit in person. Do you guys remember the Extra Extra Daytonas? I almost went for one but, at the time, I could not justify dropping such a large amount of $$$ on a rep. I would really like to check out an Extra Extra Daytona one fine day for historical/evaluative purposes.
  5. That is what I was led to believe. Great news it is.
  6. Excellent camera = Canon XTI (400D) Couple it with EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 which is an "L" grade lens. It's actually better than the famous 24-70L!!
  7. Those are indeed very nice straps. Great effort, they turned out lookin' sweet!
  8. I like the SKX-007 on a Nato G-10 strap or a simple 22mm military nylon dive strap. The SKX-007 is one of the best watches made. And yes, I am very serious about this statement. I've got 2 of them... They are rugged as hell and very customizable. Here's a pic of my custom PVD 007...
  9. That is indeed a fine looking watch. I really like those A. Lange & Sohne watches. Enjoy!
  10. Hope u are ok. Last October, a car slammed into my car - and totaled it. Both airbags went off, etc... It was frightening to say the very least. I was not really injured, but my car, ohh my car... It's gone, declared a total loss by the insurance company. More than $16k estimated damage! 2 months after the accident, I started to get a little shakey behind the wheel. If you start to experience this, go and see someone who you can talk to (if u catch my drift). Post-traumatic stress kicks in a few months afterwards. Best regards
  11. Nice comparison pics. This makes for a nice reference point, so to speak. Enjoy your watch!
  12. Medium format: Fuji GA645Zi (wow!), Rollei TLR action, and a Holga (why not) 35mm: several Canon EOS bodies and a fairly large arsenal of EOS lenses, Olympus Epic 35 f2.8, Contax T2, and various others not worth mentioning digital: Sony DSC-T1, Canon XTi, Leica D-Lux 3
  13. Love is best the 2nd time around! Great to see that you've finally got that crystal. Best regards to you...
  14. For the record: around 1970 Rolex movements started to have the hack feature.
  15. I forgot to mention that Seiko's proprietary Lumibrite lume used on their dive watches is excellent.
  16. SKX-007. A proven reliable rugged workhorse. This watch is the single most used watch in the world for scuba diving. That means that more people rely on this model with their lives. That says something about this watch.
  17. This asian GMT movement is still useless. The huge reason is because these type of movements have a jerky seconds hand. OEM Rolex 1520, 1530, 1560 and 1575 movements have a smooth sweeping seconds. The asia Miyota-type movement has irregular jerky sweeping seconds. I can spot a Miyota-type movement from a mile away. So can anybody who has merely glanced at a genuine vintage Rolex watch.
  18. The other problem is that there are no correct BPH movements with a GMT function. This is the reason why nobody has been able to replicate a 1675 correctly. This, of course, is good for OEM vintage collectors like me but no fun for those in the rep game. I love my 1675!
  19. Once again, I will have to thank you Lello for your great work. I do not own an Ingenieur, but if I did, I would purchase this wheel without hesitation. Best regards
  20. I think I'm in for one, but I need to clearly determine if Trusty's IWC MK XV has any sorta AR.
  21. The problematic asia 7750 is the running seconds at 6. Of course, there are 'normal' asia 7750's that have problems - it is the luck of the draw. I admit that I have been lucky so far. The best part is that you can drop in a genuine 7750 anytime you want. Easy solution, easy upgrade. Takes less than an hour to do it yourself. Will I be doing this upgrade? Yes. But I will wait for soome sort of datewheel modification first. This watch is so damn nice, it deserves to be kept in my collection permanently.
  22. I am not sure if the ETA movement will fit. But your biggest problem is the grossly incorrect 28000bph of the ETA. It is very different than the 1575 movment, and, it it is very noticeable.
