  1. Screw should touch the regulator dagger Hard to tell on my phone if this one does That is an easy fix but would be even better if longer screw was used
  2. Wow!!! How come no dealers are mentioning this, it is big news
  3. I think all he meant is don't force it once you reach the point of resistance
  4. You would need a same as gen movement to fool a watchsmith If your iwc rep had a gen iwc movement which many people have done as partial or full franken builds 4 things would have happened 1. Your watchsmith would likeky think the entire watch was gen 2. He would have warrantied his work 3. He would have charged you triple 4. You would not have to bring your iwc movement for him to work on cause nothing would be wring with it For some watches a Swiss eta movement would be the same as the gen uses so could fool a watchsmith, it all depends on the brand and the model
  5. I am fairly certain you can still sign up / purchase 1 Big crown got a sample produced thus far but he rejected it because it still had a little blue tint Believe that it may be another 2 weeks until any new updates for that reason As he is waiting now for what hopefully will be perfection
  6. Doesn't really exist, sorry The reps are made in china There are segments of the market with us based specialized dealers but no regular dealer is in the us
  7. The non functioning button in the side may prevent it from super rep category Other thing is I am not sure if front crystal is mineral or sapphire Everything else looks great I think
  8. Thanks all for the feedback This watch is usually on #1 or #5 for me
  9. You can't insure for more than you declare for customs value You have to fill out a customs form listing value and contents Many shipping options don't permit insurance on international shipments from us anyway Also many don't provide tracking even for extra $$$ Best way IMO is air mail registered with low customs value and no insurance but that is your call depending on your and the recipients risk level Air mail registered would cost roughly $18 for a small box or padded envelope and would provide full tracking This service is not offered online, at PO location only
  10. If you declare a high value for customs, yes it will be taxed If you declare $25 or so then no It will not be taxed, risk you run is if they inspect it and decide you under declared to hide actual value
  11. Goin does a great job as well and is similarly about 8+ weeks out Think that timeframe is more usual than unusual
  12. Even better to hear that! Usually when it comes to ar I value clarity over color hue accuracy
  13. Owners of the crystal factories, case factories, dial factories, strap factories, etc... surely turn a blind eye and take lucrative orders from these factories as well as orders from legit brands, that's for sure If you want to call noob and h assemblers instead of factories, that may more accurately describe their "factory". I don't really know of course Smaller gen brands in Switzerland would have a similar business where they are producing very few if any parts at their location, but outsourcing various parts from different manufactures Would you call Hublot assemblers? Or a watch factory
  14. I think u are underestimated the size and scale of this hobby If runs are typically in 1000 piece batches and 1000 * $300 = $300,000 you still think it is done by mom and dad in their basement? That's 300k for just 1 watch multiple that every item on a dealer site Factories don't make every part but start the process, source the manufacturing of the parts and do the final assembly and selling to the dealers, so nothing tongue and cheek about it Noob and h are competing at the top end of the market which is what the forums mostly are interested in The dealers are independent authorized sales agents if you will They work hard and are not rich, the factory owners are probably billionaires If you rep is in the $200 plus range, yes ask for time grapher photos Cheaper reps not all dealers give qc or time grapher photos
  15. I have a chieftang colorless ar coated crystal on my hbb May not be 100% accurate but my crystal looks better than the gen
  16. Nothing funny or intelligent to say right now but wanted to join the party
  17. Toro seems to be the only dealer with as close a relationship with the noob factory as angus No other dealer is allowed to do pre sales, take pics of proto types, etc of a noob watch Just these 2 1 of these 2 are your best bet for a noob watch J and A best for h factory watches I believe Other dealers can get either factories but aren't going to get stock sooner than above
  18. I have never purchased a rep box from any dealer and never would The quality will not be the same as the gen box regardless of dealer Why the heck do you need a rep box? Why not skip the box and spend the money on another rep watch, gen strap or something for the misses?
  19. I thought the sales section at least temporarily is open for all members to post?
  20. That's awesome, thus far each member answer a different strap choice Maybe I am not crazy having a hard time deciding
  21. This thread has taken forever to put together, so I hope it can help the community. Hoping some will now see the PAM390 as more verstile, others will see how a strap change can totally change the look of a watch. Please post your favorite strap pic for this watch out of the 19 pictured if you liked this thread. Or if you like more than one, list a few please. Hate them all or a handful, go ahead and share, I would be offended. I tried to take similar pictures, backgrounds, effects, etc... so the straps could be judged equally vs. picking different backgrounds or shots for each strap. Also tried to point out visually some unique characteristics of some of the straps and buckles I selected for this pictoral. Many photos, as I included a few per strap until I got lazy at the end. Here is my top 18 for this watch, really not in any particular order. No black straps pictured, when I want to wear a black strap or bracelet, I wear a different brand. I prefer all of my Pams with a shade of brown strap. As I get more straps in, I may update this thread. #1: OEM Asso New (brand new, one of the lighter OEM shadings I have seen) #2 OEM Asso Used (aged like a fine fine, one of the darker OEM shadings I have seen) #3 Kevin Ammo (this guy invented the Ammo strap) with Piotr Coin Buckle check out the detail on the buckle: #4 ABP Paris Special Tanning Croc this one fits like a glove, so much so I added a wrist shot, the only one in this thread: #5 Simona Musuem Exhibit Tobacco this one really changes in the light from dark brown to eggplant ; I think a great match for the tobacco dial #6 OEM Black JV (very rare) this strap is called Black, but it actually Grey in color #7 Greg Stevens Crazy Horse #1 (unfortunately no longer available, last made in 2007) Have purchased the #2 and #3 and they really don't compare to the original unfortunately So you may have noticed the cool buckle on this one, it is a Ray lum steel buckle, why Lum steel well... #8 Landa Raw Denim really cool suede texture on the tip and keeper: Speaking of Suede: #9 Rwolf Suede Strap (can't recall the maker, it is an Italian strap maker that Rwolf is friend's with, so I will call it RWolf) It is all suede this one has a cool Simona Brown PVD buckle: #10 Simona Xmas Divers really love the charcoal edges on this one #11 Simona Small Scale Croc #12 Simona Vintage Green #13 Simona Allegrini Divers Mark II #14 Simona Musuem Exhibit Tobacco - with custom ecru stitch sorry only 1 pic of this one and it doesn't match the others (I sold this one cause I kept the other Tobacco Musuem Strap further up the list) #15 Simona Michaelangelo Another really cool Piotr coin buckle on this one. #16 Bronzy Blonde Strap #17 Cobra unknown maker, this is a genuine cobra and a a nice strap, not my style though so it only gets 1 pic #18 Rios Vintage Handmadge
  22. Wow great collection 390 is missing!
  23. I think the rep is so amazingly close to the gen for a fraction of the cost So much so that it could easily be the greatest rep ever made And for that reason spending a good amount of money for small improvements make more sense to me on this watch than my other reps If you don't own one you can't appreciate how well they did the case, dial and all the little details It in no way looks like a rep even under close inspection where most reps falter First course if action is without a doubt resolving the cyclops though Well ahead of relume in importance
  24. I found the rep lume to be good Not great and IMO not superlume so yes I paid extra for relume with genuine sl Plus bezel numerals are a tad thin on Otb v3 My unmodded one is out on loan when I get it back i hopefully can take a side by side lume pic
  25. Look ma, no more blue cyclops
