  1. J, sent you PM.

The tachymeter seems to be a part of the case assembly for the Schumi, and yes, that IS unacceptably misaligned.

I would recommend a DIY fix if you have the proper Hex key for the job.. please refer to the link I sent and see if you need further help.

Else, yes its a painful and long process back to the dealer.

If the watch sent is not the watch approved during QC process, you should name the dealer so that everyone seeking to purchase the Schumi can be aware of such underhanded tactics. I know that a lot of Schumi were rejected, and dealers can easily pass on these rejects to schumi buyers, cross their fingers, and hope that the flaws go unnoticed.

I do not think that it is likely that a QC approved watch gets "accidentally" swapped for another watch. Possible but unlikely unless there were 10 schumis pending shipment along with yours... and even so, the sticker on the QC watch should help prevent such errors. So the circumstances under which you received this watch is extremely dubious to say the least.

  2. I have been looking on Ebay and all over the internet, All I can find is a new watch with the Powermatic movement, and the cheapest I've found is over 400USD. I'll keep looking. Obviously these movements are closely held and regulated by the Swatch group, supply houses obviously can't get them.

A, if you really like the divers, and plan to keep them, I would still advise you going the powermatic80 route.. beats having the frustration of sending watches back and forth, beats worrying whether the diver would hold up well, and essentially, you get a movement that is, on paper more superior to the OEM diver movement.

  3. Hahaha, more like suplex mountain for u mate;)

It is indeed frustrating. The more frustrating thing for me was the sound of the rotors. God they are a big give away once you shake them up, and it doesnt feel solid.

Its a pity really, because the A7753 daylight models are on the whole very accurate reps.

One thing though, the noisy movement can be rectified by servicing. It can become very quiet after that.

If you find a model you really like, consider the ETA7753 transplant. It would solve most of the issues that make us stay away. ;)

  4. I think he was referring to a real-life comparison, not a review.

I.e. Comparing to his own gen or his mates.

You seem to understand me dangerously well.

Two steps closer and it would be brokeback mountain II.

I was merely jesting mate, and yes that was exactly what I meant. I never owned a gen 356 though, but did some research on this model because I was once very interested in it. The only thing that stopped me was nothing model specific, but the wobbly (loose) hand @ the 3 o'clock subdial that seemed to inflict most, if not all of the A7753 movement models... did you experience that in your 363? It is a subtle thing, but maddening since it could not be fixed easily... short of gluing it in place or having an ETA7753 movement transplant...

  5. Hello L, thanks for the reply. Just noticed the bezel area between the "Swiss Made" word is not alighted properly. Seem a little slanted with the alignment with the bottom dial

Do you mean the 6 o'clock marker? It could be a little off, see if you could get a better piece.

My unsolicited advice is to be realistic about reps and the QC. Perfection is often desired but hard to achieve.

I had a watch rejected 3 times because each time they present a watch with the flaw corrected, another different flaw popped up...

In the end, it was a matter of which flaw I could live with more.

  6. Actually, the QE2 diver has been repped a while back by J12, and very recently again by Noob.

The sad thing is, both interpretations are way off, and would not fool my grandmother, who was half-blind, did not know about APs and dead for many years now...

  7. Thankyou so much for ur review.. it helps. Especialy for newbie like myself. ☺ can anyone tell me where can i get this beautiful ap? Im from indonesia

This thread (and rep model) is more than 2 years old.. if you are interested in the ROO Diver, the V6/V7 is the one you want.

Some improvements made of course, but we are talking about improvement from a 90% accuracy in the V3 to maybe a 95% in the V6/V7. Just my opinion of course.

On the wrist in the wild, the perceived accuracy versus gen is probably higher, even if the guy was wearing a V3.

Remember that most of the differences highlighted are spotted upon scrutiny, not casual inspection.

Unless of course you are like my friend and fellow member Folex who dedicated 78% of his free time studying and dissecting ROO diver reps.

  8. Legend my friend you have no idea how subjective this let us say "black list" would become and it would become one despite best intentions. For better or worse most have just the tip of the iceberg in regard to unrealistic expectations of both buyers and sellers, my PM box is full of them. Please just let it be and trust me the risk we all take is better than the alternative. I will not try to delude into thinking I can keep us all safe but the alternative is even more unpalatable.

    Read below, my sig.:

My friend, yes I understand that "the list" would be a subjective and highly contentious issue, perhaps not possible to be put into practice at all.

And yes, how could we ever forget that we have the faithful RWG crew members like you to clamor to when the going gets tough

I guess "the list" has always existed in fragments in PMs, and in our own judgement. ;)

  9. Would love three arms all those watches i could have on you know you Got addicted to watches when you size Them for your ankles haha

    :D

With three arms brother, you can finally change the straps on the AP ROOs without much trouble.

I am considering getting a bionic implant just for that purpose...

  10. Well said A. And fully agree. Though I would have to admit that when I first joined, I was guilty of the "impulse-regret" behavior pattern, and have learnt to restrain my fingers from sending PMs where my bank account is reluctant to follow. :D

I fully concur with you, and we could consider the following:

    1. Have a list of both dubious sellers and buyers, with short descriptions of why they are being listed.

    2. The list should be for our own reference only, and helps us identify and avoid PITA transactions. This list should not become a blacklist, but rather an awareness list, along with clear substantiated reasons

    3. To prevent frivolous or inordinate slinging of names, the list should be moderated in some way. Yes there will always be elements of subjective judgement, as in all things human. But the idea is to create awareness in members about seller/buyer behavior and help the community avoid potential pitfalls.

    4. Have a confirmed scammers list/ list of members with outstanding transaction issues with other members (payment not sent/ watch not delivered/ wrong delivery, disputes etc)

    5. The list should only be seen by VIP members of course (one more reason to subscribe to VIP!)

    6. We need a system to allow names to be taken off the list: We are all human and make mistakes at different times. I prefer to believe that people do try to learn to be better. We should give others some leeway while implementing measures to make the trading community a safer and more pleasant place.

However, above it all, I think that m2m dealers are based very largely on personal feelings and preferences, and both buyers and sellers should possess some noesis of the watch they are transacting on, and each other. Read the sales feedback, see the member history, and make your own judgement. I would be the first to admit that I have my failings as a buyer and seller both at times, but I do try to be better after each transaction. ;)

  11. My friend does this correction warrent a second consideration in your opinion or would you still feel a v2 is in the wings per dial and other considerations as per your previos posting

The dial color is a tad too dark as per what Z said. The subdial ring thickness are fine but I'm bothered by the datewheel ring thickness and the lack of the white printing on the right of the dw ring.

So yes I'll hold off buying this personally. But that's just me. ;)

  12. This is the old version. In V2 the tachy rings are already updated..

Here the metal is flat and way too wide..

You can already see the update model on pure time

I think what Z showed and the one on Puretime is one and the same. The difference could be due to angle and lighting.

There is only one version released. In the pre-order version, the subdial rings were too thick and this was corrected.

  13. Yes I had a low-beat diver once, from Vac as well, and it was running about 25min fast per day. I got it fixed by Spinmaster locally.

I have researched the problem on converted low beat movements, and I have learnt that yes, they COULD be problematic in terms of timekeeping and/or power reserves.

A good solution? One way is to transplant a Tissot Powermatic 80 movement into the watch. And bingo.. a reliable movement that beats at 21.6k, and with 80hrs of power reserve... ;)

  14. So just how drunk were you that you went to bed with that ugly duckling?!?

    :bangin::partytime::bangin:

 I checked tapatalk when I woke up and someone had to post that pic with the monstrous duck..

If you meant waking up and finding a real monstrosity in my bed next to me, yes, that happened once when I was 25 or so.

Looking at her smudged make up and smeared lips, I thought that I had somehow travelled to Gotham City magically to sleep with The Joker's sister.
