I agree, that red was unjustified as well. I don't like the way refs decide the games. Calls like these make the whole sport look stupid...it becomes complete lottery.
-
That penalty was a disgrace. Ref decided to give the win to Italy. Embarrassing, totally embarrassing.

This today.

Those pics are from genuine watches, not reps. But you knew that, didn't you?

Good Friday morning. Been really, really busy this month. I'm going to my summer cottage to relax a bit this weekend. I will most likely take my Speedy with me.
-
Yes it does. It's comfortable, handsome, rugged and elegant... and because it's a Bond watch it's one of the most famous wristwatches. But not "flashy" or "bling". I love it, and SMP is always my first choice for the "everyday watch".

Great review again Dave. Interesting read. I've heard of Mido but I didn't know they have been around so long. Father's (and grandfather's) watches are always priceless. Here's mine from my grandfather (Choisi Montreux automatic). Bought during (or right after) the world war II.

My 2836-based GMT has been flawless. Runs like a champ after a year. After bezel exchange I think it's hell of a rep. Functionality of the 2836 isn't like in original but the GMT hand is settable and keeps great time. Visually it's very close, unlike the new version which is full of flaws (as Marrickville stated).

Thanks. Just busy with work & watching the world cup soccer.
-
Impressive rep. But titanium isn't my thing. I wish they could rep stainless steel or TT Chronomat.
-
Either way...you can easily polish the bracelet sides yourself. Just use abrasive polishing paste and some hand force. Shouldn't be a big problem. Very nice TT Sub Watcher. The black is my favourite as well. I used to own one but the end links was one of the reasons I traded it. Great improvements.

That's a stunning TAG. Congrats R11co. Would like to see the blue dial version. This is almost as nice as the Aquaracer 2000 Chronograph. Very nice to see the TAG reps improving.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. But of course I haven't forsaken you guys. I've been busy with work... and of course watching the World Cup. I wore my vintage Rolly today. I even took a new quick & dirty wrist shot.

Review of BREITLING Navitimer "Serie Speciale" OUTDATED MODEL!
By-Tor replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
You're right. This is the old ugly flaw which apparently has been "rediscovered" again. About a year ago almost all Breitling reps suffered from the "reversed B". Very rare to see it in the new watches. -
Yes, this is indeed a killer watch. The new rep isn't bad but like you say it's probably better to wait for the next generation rep of this (if it ever comes out).
-
@Dani: That's crasy. I have enough instinct of self-preservation to NOT to drive a thing like that.
-
Very nice collection Ken. You rarely post pics of your watches, thanks for sharing!!!

It's an early Monday morning here in Europe. I'm going to work with this today (took the big pic year ago with one the cheapest POS digicams I've seen, but it looks still ok to me).

Yes...those watches are beautiful, especially the Zeniths. But the big question is: would you WEAR watches like that? I know I wouldn't. Give me Ubiquitous' vintage Seamaster, vintage Navitimer or GMT Master any day over these. The only watch in this thread that I'd consider buying (if I had the money) is the Hublot Big Bang. Ok, maybe the Zenith Chronomaster... although it's far from being my favourite model from Zenith (give me a Flyback El Primero any day over it). Dunno... these are all in the verge of being "excessive bling" watches for the Sultan of Bruinei. But of course, different stokes for different folks, once again. PS: Gotta admit that UN (Tellurium?) looks amazing (from the horological point of view). But what's the time? Here's a "real man's" Zenith for you (something I would LOVE to wear):
-
Thanks for the contributions. Here's a small 1680 "wallpaper" I made a while back. Just for fun...and a little change of pace.
-
The GMT is genuine and I believe the Exp is a rep. There's no decent replica of the vintage GMT Master.
-
According to this site it's 43.70mm. Perfect size for me: http://www.prestigetime.com/item.php?item_id=4722 This is a different dial version but the watch looks same to me. And I think I figured it out. Crosswind is part of the Chronomat series and just a name of the model, like Navitimer "Montbrilliant". Did I get it right?

Personally I don't know why members desire so much after the 2893 movement. It's very expensive and according to Eddie it's very unreliable compared to the "faux" modified 2836-2. Why pay premium for the expensive movement? When reps go to 500-600$ range it's too much... and I think it would be wiser to invest money on a genuine. You could find a preowned gen vintage Rolex GMT for $1600 - $1700 and Omega SMP in $1000 range. This is what EL wrote at the old RWG (I pasted it to RWI a while back so I was able to find it again) quote--------------------------------------------------> I offer 2836 and 2893 for the gmt... for the record...it does not matter to me which is which...the price is pretty much fixed by the distributor.... 2893...as most know is $$$ movt,...and once it is not in sync,,,hard to fix and $$$ to fix. i have shipped many 2893 ,,,,many....and i also have lots of issue with 2893..and when these come back to me,,,these 2893 just go back to distributor and return back to maker right away as instructed by maker. As once it is reassembled or retouch the movt,,,it has become unstable, exteemely unstable. and so far, i have quite a few return on the 2893...over 20 pcs....even these have been checked prior shipping out...i am sure many in the forum who have the 2893 may discover that gmt hand may slack in time or not sync with time...and fallen into the twilight zone..... but in 2836...i only have 1 issue with not sync with the time. This is what i know,,,and this is the info that i get,,and this is the feedback i have ...and this is the stat. and number does not lie. Regardless of what the eta movt says...or swatch group say....basically i do only believe what my qc lady and my repair mate inform me...and i have no doubt about their capabilities and judgement. I love to sell 2893 more than 2836....but 2836 is a simpler movt... and easier to fix...and from my point of view....on my service side...2836 better for me.... not many will know how to fix 2893 and 2892.,...and what if the local watchsmith screws the movt up...this mean the movt is gone...but 2836 is the work horse of the swatch group and many watchsmiths know this movt inside and out....like a the hook mechanism of victoria secret bras...2893 is the french corset....nice and sexy...but in my opinion has rather dim record.... I do not know much about movt...but i do one thing for sure....i knwo the stat...and i know the record...and i know the detail. If u were to ask me which is better.....benz or toyota....i will tell you ,,,if u have the cash sure...benz is better....but if u dont want to bet for return of service...toyota is one u may want to go with. <----------------outsert
